Happy New Year!
Greetings, everyone! I hope you had a fabulous New Year's Eve celebration, with loving kisses at midnight.
Now that 2014 has arrived, our thoughts turn to goals for the upcoming year. When it comes to writing, I currently have my plate rather full. I've promised to finish and submit Her Secret Weapon to Totally Bound by the end of January. And then I want to polish off Cat Toy and submit that to Books We Love. Also, I'm working on a Coming Together Presents (altruistic erotica) volume with the wonderful Amanda Earl. So I probably won't be "free" (whatever that means) to tackle a new project until March.
The question is, which project? I thought I'd ask for your opinions, and thank you by giving away an autographed print book from my backlist.
So here are the options:
(1) Insurrection - M/M speculative fiction, a sequel to Quarantine. I've had readers and reviewers complain that Quarantine seemed to end without resolution, and also that Kevin needed his own story. Meanwhile QR has won a battle in the struggle against the Guardians, but certainly not the war. Insurrection would push the story further.
(2) The Toymaker's Guild - steampunk romantic erotica series about a group of young engineers under the supervision of the Master Engineer, who invent and build creative, kinky toys - and get involved in some fairly outrageous activities in the process. Each book (at least three) would focus on a relationship between different members of the Guild.
(3) A longer book involving the characters in Challenge to Him, billionaire Andrew MacIntyre and social activist Olivia Alcott. Like the short, the new book would be set during the Gilded Age. I really like these characters, but unfortunately due the length limits on the Tied to the Billionaire collection, I had to end their story a bit abruptly.
(4) I have been kicking around an idea for a dark erotic romance featuring a dominant who's a paraplegic or quadraplegic. I believe that dominance and submission start as psychological or emotional phenomena and that the physical is secondary. This book (as yet untitled) would let me push that thesis to its logical limit.
(5) Something else. Is there another of my books for which you'd like a sequel? A genre you'd like to see me try? A favorite story you'd like more of?
What do you think? What would you like to read? Leave me your opinion in a comment, with your email address. Next weekend I'll randomly select one person who comments, and he or she will receive a print version of either the Switch anthology (which includes my story Mastering Maya) or the Seeing Stars anthology (which includes Bodies of Light).
Thanks for your feedback!

I would love to see The Toymaker's Guild. It sounds like a lot of fun.
Toymakers Guild, as long as it has some M/M, sounds very interesting. :)

Happy New Year! The Toymaker's Guild sounds so, so awesome.
I would love to see the Toymaker's Guild series. This sounds like something different than what I've been seeing lately.

While I agree with the previous comments that the Toymaker Guild sounds fun, I would especially like to see Insurrection.

That one sounds like it'll be challenge and a lot of research ...
But I will go with the others and agree the Toymaker...

All of these sound promising, but I'll vote for Toymaker's Guild.
Go for the fourth one, the dark erotic romance.
The Toymakers Guild sounds awesom, can't wait to read it.
I like the sounds of #4-something different!
Happy New Year.
#4 sounds like it would be a great read...do it!
#1 would be good, or an m/m twist on #4. I also love GREEN CHEESE, if you see fit to build on that universe...

Thanks, everyone, for your comments so far.
Trix, Rajasthani Moon is set in the world of GREEN CHEESE, though it has different characters.
#4 sounds good and different.
Toymaker Guild sounds very inventive and wonderful. That has my vote.
Toymaker Guild sounds like the best to do at this time. That's my vote.
The Toymaker's Guild. I'm a fan of steampunk & erotica, so would like to see them together. turtle6422@gmail.com
