New York's worst nightmare has begun (#bookblast #contest #thriller @Ruth_Mysteries)

Creepz cover
Blurb

June 2017. New York is suffering under the worst heatwave in centuries, but it’s the barrage of grisly murders that has city dwellers on edge. Since the homicides don’t fit a pattern, the NYPD is treating them as unrelated, but Detective Grace Jarrod isn’t so sure. Graffiti left at the crime scenes points to the crimes being linked and part of a rampage.

The delivery of a cryptogram to her precinct proves her theory correct. A group calling themselves CREEPZ takes credit for the deaths and for the war they wage. They promise not to stop until a societal revolution is achieved. Jarrod leads the investigation and goes after the madmen that strike at will and profess to kill for love. Little does she know that the group of homeless drifters is led by a genius who believes himself God.

Excerpt

CHAPTER 1

The summer started like a hellion on crack.

No one was expecting it … no one was prepared. The mild spring weather had lulled the denizens of the Big Apple into thinking it would always be that way. But before they knew it, the fantasy was swallowed by a rapacious heat that burrowed its way into the concrete and wouldn’t let go. And now? Now there was heat. Overbearing, suffocating heat that came up from the bowels of hell and melted the hardest of hearts, reducing them to sweat and then steam.

For two weeks, the people suffered under the sun’s merciless rule, and the weather forecaster’s oral fandango only promised more of the same. A burst of a turbulent red sky at sunset turned that threat into a reality as New Yorkers braced for another brutal repeat of today.

The day dwindled into twilight as the light was snuffed out by a phantom’s hand. A strong ocean breeze pushed the mugginess aside long enough to breathe. The beleaguered New Yorkers were grateful to have survived and sought solace in the blackness of the oasis offered. Apartment dwellers oozed into the streets in droves—all to enjoy the cooler evening temperature crowned by a silver moon tinged by the color of blood.

Da da dum dum da da doo doo hey …

In the horde of people, the strange little man humming a tune went unnoticed. The crowd at 34th Street was enjoying itself too much to care about one more drifter … one more oddball that New York seemed to attract.

About the Author

Ruth Bainbridge was born in the idyllic, sleepy town of Ithaca, NY, and has been a lover of mysteries for her entire life. Ever since a child, she’s consumed detective stories at regular intervals, becoming enamored with all the superstars of crime. She loved matching wits with Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Thomas Pitt, Lord Peter Wimsey, Richard Jury and Edward X Delaney. In fact, she was so inspired by their brilliance that she began trying to emulate her writing idol's achievements by composing her own short stories. However, life interfered with her plans of becoming the next hopeful to try a life of crime--on paper at least. But the empty nest syndrome happened and gave her the impetus to return to her first love--murder.

Her works include: THE CURT SAVAGE MYSTERIES (a four-part series that should be read in order); DEADSPEAK, a detective Twin Peaks; and ONLY ONE WILL FALL, the first in THE NICK CROSS MYSTERIES. CREEPZ is her eighth published work. The most intense read of the season, it’s a complex adrenaline rush that’s filled with suspense.

Lisabet's December News

Holiday Greetings

Happy Holidays to all my readers and friends! It's been a while since I've done a newsletter. Now I have lots of stuff to share.

New and Upcoming Releases

I have a couple of new titles out since I last updated my news. Just before Halloween, I released Coming in Costume, a collection of three linked erotic romance stories featuring the same characters: submissive Isabella, her husband and master Greg, and Greg's best friend James. The title story is a Halloween role-playing tale set in the famous Museum of Natural History in New York City. For the winter holidays, I've penned another, longer tale about this trio, entitled A Contract for Christmas. You can find blurbs and excerpts for both over at my Books page.
I've also contributed to a couple of recent Coming Together projects. You can find my story Snow Bound in Coming Together: Strange Shifters
, edited by Lynn Townsend. I'm in the middle of reading this book now–it's fantastic!. Also three of my poems appear in Ashley Lister's new collection Coming Together: In Verse. The former volume benefits Bat World Sanctuary, the latter Hope for Paws. If you're animal lover, pick up one or both of these great collections.
I've finished editing and writing new material for the grand re-release of my first two novels by Totally Bound. Both Raw Silk and Incognito have new chapters and gorgeous new covers. They'll be release early in 2016.
Finally, I'm down to the wire on The Gazillionaire and the Virgin. I have to finish it by the end of 2015 in order to meet my scheduled release date. I've been working with the wonderful Willsin Rowe on the cover, but it's not final yet so I can't share it. Stay tuned!

Free Reading and Other News

I've added new full length story to my free reading section, an erotic romance treatment of a favorite fairy tale entitled Shorn. I also added a new poem, To Kathy. Well, it's not really new–it dates from 1977–but it's unusual in that it captures an early attraction to another woman.

I've been busy on Twitter, trying to get the word out about what I am up to. I am still not sure how effective a channel this is, but I do know that my average number of blog hits has almost doubled. So I guess it's worth something!

I'll repeat my offer from my last newsletter. If you sign up to follow me on Twitter, I'll send you a free ebook, your choice of any of my Excessica or self-published titles. Just follow me (@lisabetsarai), then shoot me a tweet. Tell me what book you'd like (Exposure, Bangkok Noir, D&S Duos 1-4,Fourth World, The Antidote, or Slush) and where to send it. It's that simple!

I am also looking for people to join my reviewer street team. You can get free copies of any of my books, in return for posting a review on Goodreads, Amazon, or Barnes & Noble. Interested? Email me at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Or send me a tweet!

Finally, as a gift to my readers, I'm giving away free copies of A Contract for Christmas. All you have to do is email me at contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com and ask. I'll send you a coupon you can use to download the book in the format of your choice. But hurry! This offer expires on December 31st!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My December pick of the month is Zenobia Renquist's First Chapter blog. Come read the first chapters from dozens of erotica and erotic romance books! A couple of months ago she featured the first chapter from my erotic thriller Exposure. It's a great place to find your next book (or ten!).

Coming Tomorrow - The Eyes of Bast!

Tomorrow is general release day for my paranormal erotic romance The Eyes of Bast. I'll be celebrating with you over the weekend (that means prizes, of course...!) Meanwhile, you might want to check out the interview I did with All Romance Ebooks about the book and its background:

http://www.arecafe.com/cafe-news/qa-with-lisabet-sarai/

You might also like to read my feature, "Intuition", also at ARE:

Spend some time reading my blurb and excerpts. I'm thinking of doing a trivia contest!

New Year's Greetings and February Newsletter

Year of the Goat
Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Goat. This may not be a big deal wherever you are, but here in Asia, it's a major holiday. Given the goat's reputation for randiness, I thought he'd be an appropriate symbol for an erotica and erotic romance author like me!

New and Upcoming Releases

I have tons of news since my last newsletter. Okay, I know that was in November, but still, I've been really busy. I've got four new releases, not including anthologies, plus a bunch more in the pipeline.

First of all, if you're looking for hot, smart romance, check out my novel Nasty Business, in a new edition from Fireborn Publishing. I really like the cover, which captures the tension between the heroine and hero. Ruby Maxwell Chen, the beautiful and ruthless CEO of a huge British business empire, is used to getting her way. When she encounters American entrepreneur Rick Martell, though, she wonders if she hasn't finally met her match. Put these two together, and the sparks fly!

Then there's the first two books of my D&S Duos series. These are neat little packages with two BDSM erotic stories in each one. Book 1 contains "Body Electric" and "Limits: A Love Story". Book 2 includes "Never Too Late" and "Just a Spanking". Although they're short, they are emotionally (as well as physically) intense. I think you'll like them.
The covers for the series are by Excessica author and artist Willsin Rowe - a very talented guy in both roles.

Finally, I got my metaphorical feet wet just before Christmas by self-publishing my holiday story Slush. I had so much fun in the process that I'm planning on self-publishing a collection of paranormal erotica as soon as I can manage it.

In addition to these single-author titles, my story The Late Show is in the recently released collection Best Lesbian Erotica 2015, editing by the legendary Laura Antoniou, and I have two tales in this year's Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica (Volume 13), edited by Maxim Jakubowski.

Looking ahead, March will see the early download release of The Eyes of Bast from Totally Bound as well as the next book in the D&S Duos series, which will feature two femdom tales (just for a bit of variety). Also in March, LadyLit Publishing will bring out my brand new lesbian fantasy The Witches of Gloucester. I have also had a fun new M/M story entitled To Boldy Go accepted by Nobilis Reed for his charity anthology on a pioneering theme, Coming Together: Outside the Box. I'm not sure exactly when that's coming out, but I've already got an excerpt posted for you to enjoy.

In April, I'll release the fourth volume of D&S Duos, and a new collection of lesbian short stories entitled Her Own Devices.

I'm exhausted just thinking about all the promotion!

Free Reading and Other News

This month's free reading is a wolf-shifter story set on New Years Eve, entitled First Moon. I've also added a seasonal poem (for those of you who like such things), Solstice. After years of not writing much poetry, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's monthly verse exercises at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog. I'm a sucker for a challenge!

Did you know I have more than fifty free stories available on my website? Next time you're looking for a quick erotica or romance fix, why not drop by? Whether your preferences run to paranormal, BDSM, science fiction, M/M, F/F or ménage, you're likely to find something to suit your tastes. I'm nothing if not versatile.

The page also includes a list of free PDF books which are available for the asking. All you have to do is send me an email request.

So I posted a contest in my last newsletter, but received zero entries. That's right, none. Zilch. Nada. I won't make that mistake again LOL. I will, however, be running a blog tour for The Eyes of Bast, most likely in April, as well as my usual frequent giveaways. For example, I'm giving away both D&S Duos books over at Decadent Divas this Saturday, and I have an open giveaway running until Sunday the 22nd at my blog.

The best way to stay informed about all my releases and contests, is to join my VIP email list. Just send an email to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Every month I run an exclusive contest for my VIP readers. This month (I'll announce the details early next week) I'll be offering a bookstore gift certificate plus a free ebook pack. You still have a few days to join!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My February pick of the month is The Good Men Project, a website that examines what it means to be an enlightened male in the twenty first century. One of my friends and colleagues, Spencer Dryden, is a regular contributor to the site, which is how I found out about it. Well worth exploring!

Who Needs Facebook?

Each month I hold a giveaway exclusively for people on my private email list. Often I will use the contest as an opportunity for a little research. I'll ask readers to enter by sending me email with the answer to a simple question or two.

This month I asked the following question.

Based on your personal reading and book buying habits, how important is it that an author have presence on Facebook?

As some of you already know, "Lisabet Sarai" does not have a Facebook account, because I need to protect the privacy of my author persona. I know that if I was a FB member, it wouldn't take more than a few days for FB's data mining algorithms to determine the linkage between my real identity and my pseudonym.

However, I've obviously been concerned regarding how seriously this is impacting my sales. Some of my publishers organize events solely on Facebook, and because of my concerns, I can't participate.

Hence, I was eager to see how my readers responded.

I received 18 contest entries - not a lot, but then, any contest that requires effort or thought is going to have a low return rate! Of these 18 only three told me they thought Facebook was essential

Some indicated that they tend to frequent blogs or Goodreads more than FB. Several readers indicated that they themselves are not on FB or do not use it very much.

I was relieved. Of course, this is far from a random sample. Obviously, these are the readers who have already found me - through some channel other than Facebook.

I'm curious about other people who might read this post. How would you answer this question?

Thanks!

Oh, and a big congratulations to Sara, who won a copy of The Ingredients of Bliss in this month's drawing!

And if you'd like to join in the monthly contests - just email me at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. I'd be glad to add you to the VIP list.

New Release, Blog Tours, Free Reading - Yes, It's a Newsletter at Last!

Bad, bad girl, Lisabet! You haven't put out a newsletter since June! What a dereliction of your duty to your readers! It's shameful. How many strokes do you think you deserve for that?
Man With Whip[
I'm sorry, Master. I'll make up for it, I promise. I'll be very prompt and very good from now on. And I'll give my readers lots of goodies...!

New and Upcoming Releases

Yes, I admit I've been remiss, but I promise to make up for it in this newsletter, because I've got tons to share with you.

I have three new releases this month, to start with. Today is general release day for The Ingredients of Bliss. The book is now available at Amazon US, Amazon UK, All Romance Ebooks, with Barnes and Noble and other venues coming soon. You really should buy direct from TB, though. That's the only place where you'll get my exclusive bonus chapter, which may very well be the hottest in the entire book (and if you've read any of my excerpts, you'll realize that's hot!)

I've got a blog tour for the book going on now, sponsored by Totally Bound.
Today, I'm featured at the website, with a tell-all interview about the book. Tomorrow I'll be over at Kathy's Book Reviews and More. The whole tour schedule is on my blog and I'll be updating the links as they go live. There's also a giveaway on the tour home page, where you can enter every day and win a copy of Her Secret Ingredient, the prequel to the new book.

Bangkok Noir Cover
Today is also release day for the new Excessica edition of my BDSM erotic thriller Bangkok Noir. This book is definitely not romance, but if you enjoy suspense laced with steamy BDSM sex, check it out. It has received several five star reviews at Amazon.

Finally, last week saw the release of Cheyenne Blue's lesbian anthology Forbidden Fruit, which includes my story "The Last Stone. Some rave reviews already for this book, too. And in case you missed it, there's a blog tour on for this book as well. You can win a bunch of F/F fiction by the Forbidden Fruit authors. Go to the tour home page for details.

Speaking of reviews, Ashley Lister gave Rajasthani Moon an enthusiastic one at Erotica Revealed this month. He writes:
Not only does Lisabet have a sophisticated command of detail that brings each narrative to life, she also has an astute focus on plot that allows her to create and combine genre tropes as she tells a specific and enjoyable story.

Other News

Since I've left you unattended for so long, I've added a long, lusciously romantic story to my free stories page. Goldberg Variations is a tale about family, music, sex, and sharing. Check it out. And while you're there, sample some of the other offerings you'll find on free reading page. They are all neatly categorized and range from transgressive and intense erotica to almost sweet romance.

I started working on the The Gazillionaire and the Virgin, but then I got distracted by a new story about a trio of lesbian witches, set in Gloucester, Mass. I think the witches are going to make me finish their tale befor I can return to my high-powered Silicon Valley executive and her (yes, her) brilliant but virginal swain.

Those of you who follow my blog already know that I post a kiss excerpt almost every Sunday, as part of the Sunday Snog blog meme. This Sunday is a bit special. We're doing a Snog for Sommer, an event to support our fellow author Sommer Marsden, who's helping her husband battle against pancreatic cancer.

snog for sommer button

I will be giving away prizes plus committing to donate in response to every comment I get. You can donate, too. Just go to SmutForGood.co.uk.

For my September VIP readers contest, I'll be giving away a copy of The Ingredients of Bliss - with the extra chapter! Only people on my email list are eligible though. If you want to join, just send me email at at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "VIP subscription" and I'll get you signed up right away. I'll announce the contest rules on the mailing list next week!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My September pick of the month is Bitches Be Writin', Alisa Anderson's blog. Alisa was my guest at Beyond Romance last week, with a great excerpt. Then I discovered she was hosting my blog tour this week. I just hopped over and found she's featuring another of my favorite author, Cecilia Tan. Definitely a lady who shares my tastes!

Lisabet's May News

Lusty Couple

The Lusty Month of May

New and Upcoming Releases

It's May, it's May, the lusty month of May...

Okay, no more singing. But I do have a lot of news to share with you.

Last week, Books We Love put out a huge collection of my BDSM work, entitled Admit You Want It. For one low price, you can get eighteen sizzling stories of dominance and submission, plus a 30,000 word novella. Come on, you know you're tempted. Admit it!

Slave Girls CoverAlso, in just a few days Cleis will release the long-awaited collection edited by D.L. King, Slave Girls, which includes my short story Muse, the tale of an erotic romance author who meets the master she's never dared write. You can find an excerpt here.

Speaking of editor D.L. King, her anthology Under Her Thumb has won the 2013 Independent Publishers Awards Silver Medal for erotica. The "IPPY" awards recognize excellence in independently published books in a range of categories. Under Her Thumb includes some great stories, including my own contribution, Layover. (Click here for a snippet.)

And speaking of awards, Coming Together: Girl on Girl is a finalist for the 2014 Golden Crown awards. The "Goldies" celebrate the year's best LGBTQ literature. This volume includes my lesbian BDSM tale, Sundae, Bloody Sunday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Looking ahead, I just signed a contract with Totally Bound for my What's Her Secret novel, retitled as The Ingredients of Bliss (formerly "Her Secret Weapon"). This over-the-top novel brings back the characters from Her Secret Ingredient for a wild romp through France. Stay tuned for more news about this release, which should be available for pre-order in July!

Other News

After a lapse of several months, I've put up another dramatic chapter of CatToy. The story is winding to a close - I think there's just one more chapter to go! I'll leave the last chapter up for a month or so, but then I'll be taking it down so that I can send it to a publisher. So if you haven't read the story, better do so soon!

Also on the free reading front, I've put together a stand-alone version of my romantic BDSM short A Case of You, with a dynamite cover. If you want a copy, all you you to do is admit you want it... Go to my blog and leave a comment with your email, admitting that you want it... I'll send you the ebook in return.

Case of You
            cover

On Sunday the 18th, I'm going to send out information on my next VIP reader giveaway, limited to people who are on my private email list. I'm giving away two prizes this month, $10 gift vouchers from Totally Bound.

Want to become one of my VIP readers? Just send me an email, to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com and join in the fun.

Contests

Ok - just for the fun of it, let's do an impromptu giveaway right now! Leave a comment on this post, with your email, and I'll enter you to win a copy of my hilarious novella What's Her Secret. I'll draw the winner next Sunday!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My May pick of the month is erotic author Jeremy Edwards' website. Jeremy is old friend of mine, and I was just thrilled to learn that his fabulously funny novel The Pleasure Dial also won an IPPY this year. I'm so proud of him. Of course, I love the book (read my review here). I highly recommend it if you're seeking non-stop witticisms and happy-go-lucky lust, with a deliciously happy ending.

Lisabet's February News

Ready for some passion?
Ready for some passion?

New and Upcoming Releases

Darn it! I missed another month! Here we are, the last week of February and I see that my last newsletter was back in December....

I do have an excuse. I've been writing furiously, working to finish my novel-length sequel to Her Secret Ingredient, entitled Her Secret Weapon. When I did finally submit it, about a week ago, I breathed a huge sigh of relief. Haven't heard anything from the publisher since. I'll let you know as soon as I have a contract and a release date.

Rough Weather CoverSpeaking of releases, my paranormal novella Rough Weather has been available for early download since the end of January. It goes on general release this coming Friday! I'll be celebrating, of course, most likely with a giveaway. (You know me...!) Stay tuned for news about what you can win.

Also since my last update, Coming Together has released Coming Together: Through the Storm, a fabulous anthology of weather-themed erotica that benefit the Mercy Corps. It includes my BDSM story "Twister", a tale that proves marriage doesn't have to kill the thrill, as well as a slew of other sexy tales.

And sometime in the next month I expect the release of Burning Books' collection Written on Skin: An Anthology of Etched Desire, which will include my tale "The Last Amanuensis". I don't submit to many erotica anthologies these days, but I really wanted to be part of this one because of its theme and the fact that it's edited by one of my idols, Remittance Girl (also Aisley Weaver and Raziel Moore). Also the story gave me the opportunity to indulge my occasional craving to write about dystopias! I'm really looking forward to seeing the volume, which I'm certain will be stellar.

Other News

This month I've got another sizzling chapter of Cat Toy for your free reading pleasure. I'm trying to wind the story up. Then I'll publish it as a single title, with a cover and so on, so you can go back and savor Shaina's and Tom's passion.

I've also posted a new poem. After years of not writing any poetry, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's monthly writing exercises over at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog. Each month, he has been featuring a different poetic form and I've been trying to make an attempt with each one. In the past, I've written mostly free verse, but hey, you know how I feel about discipline!

I'll be doing a slew of guest posts and contests over the next few weeks, promoting Rough Weather. In particular, I'll be participating in Jane Wakely's Spring Fling Blog Hop, from the 20th to the 23rd of March, where the grand prize is a $75 gift certificate. And of course I'll be running another VIP contest, exclusively for those of you who are on my private email list. Last month I was delighted to see that got a really good response.

Want to become one of my VIP readers? Just send me an email, to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com and I'll add you quicker than you can say "simultaneous orgasm".

Contests

I know I said I wasn't going to do any more newsletter contests. However, I just can't seem to resist giving things away. So this month, you have the chance to win a copy of my very first novel, the BDSM classic Raw Silk, in ebook form.

Interested? Send an email to me at contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com (note the difference from the address above) with the subject line "Over the Edge Contest". In the email, tell me the one thing that is most likely to push you "over the edge" and make you go buy a book. Is it reviews? Cover ads you might notice? Book videos? A friend's recommendation? I know there are many factors, but tell me which one is most powerful in getting you to shell out your hard-earned cash - and you might win a book for free!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

Since I mentioned him above, I thought I'd choose Ashley Lister as my featured pick of the month for February. Ash is an extremely diverse author who writes under several names including the notorious Lisette Ashton. He also pens deliciously bawdy verse as well as non-fiction, and teaches writing at the university level. Check out his books and his blog at http://www.ashleylister.co.uk

October News

Halloween image
Love Hurts
Happy Halloween!

New and Upcoming Releases

Welcome to the October - that is, the Halloween - edition of my newsletter. I'll make it quick, so you can get back to working on your costumes and cooking up your caramel apples...!

My only new release since last newsletter is my BDSM free read A Case of You , available now from the newly revamped Totally Bound website. Their stellar art department has come up with new covers for all the free books. I love this one!

A Case of You Cover

Rough Weather CoverSpeaking of covers, though, I've received the cover for Rough
Weather, which will be out in January. I'm thrilled with it; it
really captures the feeling of the story. Read an
      excerpt
      here and you'll
      see what I mean.

I've also got the cover for my next release, Her Secret Ingredient. This lively, sexy romp will be out next month as part of Totally Bound's new What's Her Secret? line.

When the Tastes of France food channel offers Mei Lee “Emily” Wong a series of guest spots, she jumps at the opportunity to take her culinary career to a whole new level. Ultimately, she wants a show of her own, but first she has to prove herself to Michelin-starred network founder and effective dictator, Etienne Duvalier. A legend in the world of classic French cuisine as well as a domineering perfectionist, Etienne is sceptical about the culinary abilities of a woman from Hong Kong. To make things more difficult, the master chef is also irresistibly gorgeous.
Her Secret Ingredient Cover
Emily tries to solve both problems by spiking her luscious profiteroles with an ancient Oriental aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, Harry Sanborne, the low-key, bespectacled producer for Emily's show, samples the delicacies she intends for Etienne's consumption. His powerful reaction to her secret ingredient comes as a pleasant surprise to them both. Harry turns out to be far more impressive in bed than on the set. However, he can't do nearly as much to advance her ambitions as Etienne. Emily tries once more to tempt the exacting M. Duvalier with her special cooking as well as her feminine charms. The outrageous results threaten to end her TV career forever - until Harry steps in to save her reputation and claim her heart.

I had so much fun writing this tale that I'm planning a follow-up novel, which will take Emily, Harry and Etienne to France for further adventures. Meanwhile, you can read an excerpt from the story here. Of course, I'll be doing some giveaways to celebrate the release. Stay tuned for more information!

Oh, I nearly forgot! If you're an old-fashioned type like me, a person who still likes to read physical books, you might like to snag a copy of Rajasthani Moon in paperback. It will be available next Friday, the 25th of October.

Other News

For free reading this month, I've added the next chapter of my CatToy shifter serial. To read the book from the beginning, go to the free reading index page and scroll down to the "paranormal" category.
I've also added a brand new poem. In the last few months, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's writing exercises at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog to try out some new poetic forms. This month's poem, Galatea, is my first attempt at the rather complicated form known as a vilanelle.

Tomorrow I'll be guest blogging at H.C. Brown's and on Friday, at Normandie Alleman's. The following week, on Halloween, I've got a guest appearance at H.K. Carlton's blog. I'll be giving away a bookstore gift certificate in conjunction with these appearances. For details, keep an eye on my blog, or sign up to be on my private mailing list.

Speaking of my mailing list, I'll be sending out information about this month's exclusive drawing next Friday. Only people on my list are eligible to enter!

If you're not on my email list but would like to be, just send an email to contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "Add Me", from the email you want added
.
Contests!

Congratulations to Juliana, who won my "BDSM" contest. She started her email with the sentence "I LOVE BDSM Stories!". That's not why I picked her, though - honest! Random.org selected her name, not me! Thanks to everyone who entered.

I've decided that people are getting bored with my monthly Newsletter contests. For one thing, they go on too long. You enter and then have to wait for a month - sometimes two! - to discover whether you're the winner. Instead, I'll do contests here on my blog, at least twice a month. I'll announce them, of course. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for October is Nobilis Erotica, the longest running erotica podcast on the Web. Nobilis offers dozens of free audio tales, including a couple by me. Many, but certainly not all, are science fiction or speculative fiction. The site has Android or iPhone podcast apps for download too! Intelligent, well-written, professionally recorded audio-erotica, for free... What's not to love?

Lisabet's August News

Challenge To Him cover

New and Upcoming Releases

Yes, it's still August, though just barely. I know many of your are celebrating the Labor Day holiday this weekend, so I'll just run quickly through my latest news.

First of all, my historical BDSM story Challenge To Him is available now as a single title from Total-E-Bound. Furthermore, if you buy it within the next few weeks, you can get a 10% discount. Why wait? TEB can send the book directly to your Kindle or Nook, just like the big guys.

Not sure if this is the book for you? You can read a sizzling excerpt here.

Meanwhile, the Tied to the Billionaire anthology where the story first appeared is a huge hit. If you can't get enough of sexy dominants with money, power and charisma, this is the book for you. Congratulations to Beth, who won first prize (a $50 GC) in our "Meet the Billionaires" blog tour, and Natasha, the runner up, who bagged a six-pack of our books. If you didn't get the chance to read my interview with my billionaire hero Andrew MacIntyre, you can read it here.

Since my last newsletter, Coming Together: Girll on Girl, which includes my story Sundae, Bloody Sundae, has hit the virtual shelves. This charity anthology (available here as well as on Amazon and Barnes and Noble) benefits the National Center for Lesbian Rights. If you believe that people should have the right to love whomever they choose regardless of gender - if you enjoy steamy and romantic lesbian fiction - get yourself a copy of this great book!

Total-E-Bound has accepted my paranormal BDSM novella Rough Weather. Unfortunately the book won't be out until next January, but you can read a snippet here in the meantime.

And the brilliant D.L. King is including my M/F BDSM tale Muse in her upcoming anthology Slave Girls, due out sometime in 2014. I've posted an excerpt from that story, too.

Other News

My free story this month, Trespass has the distinction of being the most-often-rejected story I've ever written. I submitted it to four different editors before it was finally accepted (for the Coming Together: By Hand anthology). I think the rejections were due to the fact that the story is rather dark. However, it is also intensely romantic. How could it not be, based as it is on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet? In this story, I also consider the way obscenity is culturally defined. What if showing a naked hand was more taboo than displaying bare breasts or buttocks?

I've also posted a brand-new poem called The Line. I haven't written poetry in years, but Ashley Lister's monthly writing challenge over at the ERWA blog has inspired me.

Tomorrow, or thereabouts, Victoria Blisse is due to announce the winners of her amazing Smut Al Fresco event. You still have twenty four hours or so to comment, and maybe win a Kindle, plus 50 British pounds worth of TEB credits! If you haven't done so already, check out my post, "The Allure of Extramural Lust"

Speaking of prizes, I've decided that I need to reward those of you who are on my private mailing list.
Starting this month, I will do at least one giveaway per month that is exclusive to individuals who have given me permission to send them emails. Watch your inbox. I'll announce the contest and you'll have forty eight hours to respond. Free books, gift certicates, swag - who knows what prizes I'll come up with!

If you're not on my email list but would like to be, just send an email to contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "Add Me", from the email you want added. I'll do the first giveaway next week!

Contests!

Congratulations to Joy, who won my "Series" contest. I got quite a few interesting answers to my questions. The majority of individuals who responded told me they prefer series where each book focuses on a different set of characters, but where characters from the previous book also appear. A vivid world that feels real, and a lot of emotional twists and turns were also cited as key features. Anyway, thanks to all of you. You've given me a lot to think about.

For my August contest, I want to know what you think about the current BDSM craze. I've been writing BDSM for more than a decade - why is it suddenly so popular? Do you personally enjoy BDSM stories? Why or why not? Send your answers in an email to contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com, with the subject line "BDSM". The prize is a two-pack of print books from my backlist - BDSM or not, depending on your preference!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for August is The Erotica Bibliophile (http://www.eroticabibliophile.com/), an ongoing research project on vintage erotica and erotic art published between the 18th and early 20th centuries. Great images, fascinating information, with a very classy presentation. Highly recommended!

Lisabet's May News - and a Snog, too!

Revelry Button

New and Upcoming Releases

I'm back! After some seriously nerdy activity on my part, I've got my website up and running again, with somewhat better protection against hackers. And I've got lots of news to share.

At the bottom of this post, you'll find my traditional Sunday Snog, an intense kiss from Cat Toy.

Top news billing goes to my new release Rajasthani Moon. The multi-genre novel is available now from Total-E-Bound (at a 10% discount) and will go to general release (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, All Romance Ebooks, and all your other favorite bookstores) on Friday May 31st.

I've got lots of fun promotional events planned for this book - which means a raft of great prizes for you. On June 8th, I'm hosting a Revelry! Release Party at Coffee Time Romance's new steampunk site. I'll be giving away prizes to everyone who participates, as well as a couple of great grand prizes.

Then from June 10th through the 21st, I've got a blog tour where you can win a $50 bookstore gift certificate, plus free books at each stop. You can find the full schedule for that tour here. But don't worry, I'll remind you...

Blog Tour Button

I also have guest appearances set up all over the place, talking about the book and tossing out prizes left and right. To stay up to date about all my contests and other events, join my Yahoo Group Lisabet's List, or (if you want somewhat less mail) email me to be added to my private list.

My story Layover now out, as part of the femdom anthology Under Her Thumb, edited by the award-winning D.L. King. I also have a story (The Antidote) in the Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica Volume 11 edited by Maxim Jakubowski. Actually Maxim just informed me that he'd like to publish my erotic story Fleshpot in the next MBBNE, which should be available in late 2013. Also, Leigh Ellwood has accepted my lesbian BDSM erotic tale Sundae, Bloody Sundae for the charity anthology Coming Together: Girl on Girl, which will benefit the National Center for Lesbian Rights.

Other News

This month in my free reading section, I've got a brand new installment of Cat Toy, my cat-shifter serial. I know I've been away from the book for a while, but I'm going to try to post new content every month from now on, until I finish the book. Read the new chapter here. Or to read the entire story so far, start here.

I finished and submitted The Gilded Cage but haven't heard yet whether it has been accepted. Meanwhile, I'm working on Rough Weather, a sort of prequel to my paranormal novella Hot Spell. The book shows the genesis of the relationship between the water elemental Ondine and the air elemental Marut, two characters who show up at the very end of Hot Spell. It's set on the lovely island of Martha's Vineyard. Oh, and it will very likely include some BDSM. (Surprise, surprise!)

Tomorrow, May 20th, marks the start of Skye Warren's incredible Wet and Wild Blog Hop. Drop by Beyond Romance for a chance to win a couple of autographed print books from me, plus Skye's grand prize - a $100 gift certificate from Victoria's Secret. Almost 200 authors are participating in this hop, and every single one is an opportunity for more wonderful gifts.

Contests!

Congratulations to Colleen, who was the winner of my Back List Blast contest during April. She snagged a $25 Amazon Gift Certificate.

I'm giving away so many other prizes over the few weeks as part of my Rajasthani Moon promotions, I don't know if I really need a monthly contest, but hey, what the heck!

This month you can win a print book prize pack that includes an autographed copy of my steamy first novel Raw Silk plus Cream: The Best of the Erotica Readers & Writers Association, an anthology I edited back in 2006. To enter, send an email to contest [at] lisabetsarai.com with the subject line "Social Media Contest". In the email, answer the following questions:
  1. Do you use Twitter to follow any authors? If so, how many?
  2. Do you interact with your favorite authors on Facebook? If so, how many?
  3. Do you belong to and spend any time at Goodreads?
  4. Have you ever bought a book specifically because you learned about it through one of the above sources (Twitter, Facebook or Goodreads)?

Every complete set of answers counts as an entry. I'll announce the winner in my next newsletter, in the second half of June.

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for May is the delicious Sexy Reads site, the brainchild of Kev Mitnick (otherwise known as Mr. Victoria Blisse). With interviews, news, flash fiction, hot covers, cool reviews, Sexy Reads is just plain fun for anyone who enjoys the erotic. Oh, and the site works like a dream, fast and smooth - just as you'd expect from a super-nerd code-slave like Kevin! Check it out!

And now for the Snog...

Since my newsletter day happens to coincide with Snog Day, I'll share a kiss from Cat Toy, my free shifter serial, just updated this month. Once you've enjoyed my kiss, please click over to Blissekiss.co.uk for lots more delicious kisses.

Tom set down his glass. His eyes narrowed. "Are you that frightened of me?" Sorrow took over his handsome face. "Very well. I'll leave, then. I had hoped..." The sadness painting his features morphed to terrible fury for an instant. I shrank back against the wall. "But I should know better than to hope, cursed as I am." A deep sigh scattered his evil mood. Once more I read only regret and pain in his eyes.

He rose, heading for me and the exit. His impossible grace made me ache to touch him. Although he was fully dressed, in jeans, a tee shirt, and scuffed trainers, something about the way he moved made me imagine him naked. I remembered the rush of lust he'd kindled back in the park. A pang of desire arced through me.
Before I could stop him, he was standing in front of me, looming over me. I had no sense of threat, though. I caught the heady scent of male sweat, woven with the sharpness of crushed vegetation. I felt the warmth radiating from his body. I felt his power, sheathed, hidden, bubbling beneath the surface.

"You're blocking the door, Shaina. You'll have to move if you want me to go."

Wordless, lost in the storm of emotion swirling through me, I stepped aside. He flipped open the deadbolt.

"Goodbye, beautiful one."

"No..."

I didn't intend to speak. The one word plea emerged without any conscious decision. I reached for him, to hold him back. Some part of me knew that I shouldn't, couldn't allow him to leave.

Electricity shot through my arm, sizzled down my spine and ignited in my sex. I gasped.

"You feel it too, don't you?" With one finger, he tipped my face toward his. His eyes were emeralds set in ebony. They were so familiar...I knew this stranger, recognized him at some fundamental level below rational thought.

Heat hummed through me, rippling out from that tiny spot on my chin where our skin met. I was acutely aware of my bare flesh under the thin cotton, my nipples gathered into tight, throbbing knots, my thighs damp with fluid leaking from my cleft.

I held his gaze, allowing him to see the raw need he inspired. I was totally naked, open, silently inviting him to take me.

He bent to me. His breath warmed my cheek as I held my own in anticipation. Then his lips met mine and reality exploded into a riot of lush sensation. Colors flared around us, scarlet, vermillion, grass-green, velvety jet. A thousand scents teased my nostrils - the sweetness of fallen blossoms and ripe earth, summer-baked hay and rust-tinged water running over smooth stone. Sparks danced across my skin and burrowed beneath, racing through my blood to swell and soak me.

Just the chaste press of his closed lips had this effect. When he opened to slide his tongue into my mouth, a dizzy fever swept over me. I grabbed him, wrapping my arms around his back, plastering my body against his, mashing my hungry breasts against his solid chest. I wanted total contact. The parts of me that weren't touching him felt lost, abandoned. A rigid bulk prodded my belly. I squirmed against him, thrilled by the promise of that hardness.

His tongue flicked across mine, rougher than I'd expected. He devoured me as though he was starved, gnawing on my lips then plunging deep inside. I felt every move in my pussy, as if that agile tongue rasped over my pulsing clit instead of my palate. My nipples were so tight they hurt. I ground my pubis against him, already trembling on the edge of orgasm.

Happy Snog Day! Don't forget to enter my contest!

Lisabet's March News

Exposure cover
New and Upcoming Releases

Okay, so it's the last day of March and here I am posting my newsletter... Honestly, I have a good excuse. Several, actually!

First of all I was hacked and I've been busy trying to make my website more secure. That's why Lisabet's Fantasy Factory (http://www.lisabetsarai.com)  has been down for the past week or so.

Second, and more pleasantly, I'm off on a long foreign trip starting next Tuesday, so I've been unbelievably busy getting all my responsibilities cleared away before we leave.

So this will be just a quick update, to let you know what's been going on and what you can win during April!
Since my last newsletter, I've published a newly edited version of my erotic thriller Exposure, which features my feisty stripper heroine, Stella Xanathakeos. Stella is just minding her own business and having a bit of fun, working as an exotic dancer at the Peacock Lounge. Through no fault of her own, she witnesses a double murder and gets pulled into a shady dance of deceit with political bigwigs, mob bosses, dirty cops and scheming widows. Now she's everyone's target; her only chance is to sift through the lies and expose the truth.

If you enjoy erotic noir, get yourself a copy of this book.

April 9th is release day for the femdom anthology Under Her Thumb, edited by the award-winning D.L. King and featuring my story "Layover". And I'm counting the days until May 6th, the pre-release date Rajasthani Moon. I'll be doing a blog tour for the book in June, giving away a $50 gift certificate plus a book at every stop. Stay tuned for details!

Other News

One thing that has kept me busy over the past month is a relaunch of the new and improved Oh Get A Grip blog. We've expanded our roster to ten contributors, with fresh, exciting content every week day. New members include Desiree Holt, Cari Silverwood, Sacchi Green, Giselle Renarde, Amanda Earl and the infamous Daddy X. With this crew, I expect the Grip to be more outrageous than ever. As usual, we'll all be posting on the same general topic for a period of two weeks at a time. The next topic, starting Monday April 1st, is "Procrastination".

On other fronts, I've almost finished my story for the Tied to the Billionaire anthology, entitled The Gilded Cage. It's a bit different from what you might expect, set around the turn of the twentieth century when America first became a world power and huge fortunes were made by the likes of Andrew Carnegie, John Rockefeller and the other so-called "robber barons". My hero, Andrew MacIntyre, has more money than he knows what to do with. However, there's one thing his wealth can't buy - a willing partner to fulfill his perverse fantasies. Labor activist Olivia Alcott seems an unlikely candidate for this role, but appearances can be deceiving. The tale plays out in one of the fabulous Gilded Age mansions in Newport, Rhode Island. In case you're unfamiliar with these extravagant edifices, here's a photo, from Wikipedia, of The Breakers, one of the largest and most luxurious.

Contests!

Congratulations to Jackie, who won my February Favorite Book contest. I'll be sending her a $25 Amazon gift certificate, as promised.

This month, I'm deviating from my usual pattern and running my contest here on the blog. I'll be traveling, as I noted above, for a big chunk of April, but I really want you to keep visiting Beyond Romance. I have some wonderful guests lined up for that period. On the days when I don't have visitors, I've set up a Back List Blast. Each day you can read a different excerpt from one of my back list books - everything from M/M paranormals to BDSM thrillers.

Every comment you leave on the blog between April 2nd and April 19th counts as an entry in the contest. (Don't forget to include your email address in the comment!) The grand prize is a $25 GC to the bookstore of your choice (Amazon, Barnes and Noble, All Romance Ebooks, or Total-E-Bound). I'll choose two runners up, too, each of whom will receive an autographed print book from my back list.
So please, visit often. Sample a wide range of my books, and help keep my guests from feeling neglected!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for March is the Four Seduced Muses group blog, run by Nicole Morgan, May Water, Maya DeLeina and Lia Michaels. I was a guest there last month and had a great time. Drop by for their Forbidden Fruit Fridays, Thirsty Thursdays, Wanton Wednesdays, Tempt Me Tuesdays... hey, I think you get the idea!

Lisabet's February News

Coming Together In Vein cover
New and Upcoming Releases

Coming Together: In Vein, my charity vampire anthology, is now available in ebook and print, from a wide variety of booksellers. I want to thank my fellow authors, many of whom have kindly featured the book on their blogs to help me get the word out. As you probably know by now, every copy you buy goes to support the essential work of Doctors Without Borders. During February I plan to be doing more promotion for the book, including some giveaways. And speaking of free books, I will give a copy of my ebook short story collection Body Electric to anyone who buys In Vein and sends me a copy of the receipt. Two books for the price of one - what more could you want?

If you still need convincing, check out Nathan Burgoine's rave review of the book at Erotica Revealed. After mentioning stories he particularly enjoyed, he concludes:
Coming Together: In Vein was a very welcome surprise. None of the stories felt familiar or typical (some even crossed into speculative fiction territory) and it was a very welcome reminder that given the right authors, even something that feels as “done” as vampires can – pardon another pun – gain new life.

Since my last newsletter in December, I finished and submitted Rajasthani Moon. Furthermore, as you may already know from the whooping and hollering I've been doing on my blog, the book has been contracted by Total-E-Bound. This multi-genre opus (well, it's 52K words - is that long enough to be considered an opus?) will see VIP release in early May and general release the first week in June.

As you can see below, the cover is fantastic. It's a bit of a challenge to put together a set of images related to BDSM, werewolves, steampunk, Bollywood, ménage and Rubenesque in a single cover!

Here's the blurb:

Neither kink nor curse can stop a woman with a mission

Rajasthani Moon Cover Cecily Harrowsmith, secret agent extraordinaire, is a woman on a mission. When the remote Indian kingdom of Rajasthan refused to remit its taxes to the Empire, Her Majesty imposed an embargo. Deprived of the energy-rich mineral viridium, essential for modern technology and development, Rajasthan was expected to quickly give in and resume its payments. Yet after three years, the rebellious principality still has not knuckled under. Cecily undertakes the difficult journey to the rugged, arid land of the Rajputs to determine just how it has managed to survive, and if possible to convince the country to return to the Empire's embrace. Instead, she's taken captive by a brigand who turns out to be the ruler's half-brother Pratan and delivered into the hands of the sexy but sadistic Rajah Amir, who expertly mingles torture and delight in his interrogation of the voluptuous interloper.

Cursed before birth by Amir's jealous mother, Pratan changes to a ravening wolf whenever the moon is full. Cecily uncovers the counter-spell that can reverse the effects of the former queen's hex and tries to trade that information for her freedom. Drawn to the fierce wolf-man and sympathising with his suffering, she volunteers to serve as the sacrifice required by the ritual – offering her body to the beast. In return, the Rajah reveals Rajasthan's amazing secret source of energy. In the face of almost impossible odds, Cecily has accomplished the task entrusted to her by the Empire. But can she really bear to leave the virile half-brothers and their colourful land behind and return to constraints of her life in England?

Other News

To make up for having abandoned you last month, I have another brand new story for you, just in time for this month's festival of love. Old-Fashioned Valentine is a romantic BDSM tale about a woman whose master has a traditional streak.

If you're in the mood for more Valentine's stories, check out Ordinary Miracless, a M/M Valentine's erotic romance (X-rated) featuring the characters from Necessary Madness or The Origin of St. Valentine's Day, a erotic myth with a grain of historical truth.

Are you on Goodreads? I don't do Facebook, but I really enjoy hanging out and sharing information and opinions about books. Feel free to friend me there, or check out my reviews. Also, Total-E-Bound has established a new Goodreads group which you're very welcome to join. Members will be the first to hear about TEB releases and promotions, as well as getting the chance to chat with all our great authors.

Did you get your holiday gift from me? Back around the turn of the year, I was gave away free PDF books of two of my holiday stories, Last Minute Gift (M/M) and Silver Bells (M/F/M BDSM ménage), complete with covers designed by me. If you somehow missed out, just send me an email (lisabet -- at -- lisabetsarai.com) telling me which one you'd like, and I'll send it along.

Contests!
Congratulations to Pagan Lady, who won my December contest. I'm sending her an ebook copy of Nasty Business.

For my February contest, I'm offering a $25 Amazon gift certificate. Yes, that's a big prize, but I didn't have a contest in January (if you don't count all the giveaways on my blog!). What do you have to do to get in on the action? Send me an email at contest -- at -- lisabetsarai.com with the subject line "Favorite Book Contest". Let me know which of my books you've enjoyed the most, and why. (If you've never read anything by me, that's okay, you can tell me, and I'll still enter you in the contest!)

As usual, I'll announce the winner in my next newsletter.

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for February is Elle Q. Sabine's web site. Her Misbegotten Misses series has a freshness that I really admire, and the covers are absolutely magnificent. Drop by and pay her a visit!

November Newsletter

Mastering Maya Cover

New and Upcoming Releases

I'm sorry to have deserted you last month! I was away for much of October, so I figured I would just defer my next newsletter until November.

Mastering Maya is available now as a stand-alone title at Total-E-Bound. It will be at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and all your other favorite booksellers next Monday, November 19th. But if you buy it this week, as a VIP pre-release title, you get 10% off the list price!

Meanwhile, the Switch anthology, which includes "Mastering Maya" as well as great stories from Desiree Holt, Elizabeth Coldwell, Wendy Zwaduk, Amy Valenti and Lauren Gallagher, is out in print. Want to win an autographed copy? Enter my monthly contest!

I've been working on edits for Coming Together: In Vein, my charity vampire anthology scheduled for December release. It is - if I may humbly say so - a sensational book, and will support one of my favorite causes, Doctors Without Borders. Did you know that DWB are running clinics for victims of Hurricane Sandy? For more information about their critically important work, click here. Are there any fans of the undead on your holiday gift list? This volume may be just the thing!

And for zombie fans... Check out the latest Coming Together collection Coming Together: Hungry for Love, edited by Sommer Marsden. I don't have a story in the book, but it features some of my favorite authors and benefits a wonderful cause - the American Diabetes Association.

Other News

My last free read was M/M, so this month I'm sharing a sizzling snippet of lesbian erotica called entitled Architecture of Desire - a classic case of opposites attracting. I also have an addition to the poetry section, a bittersweet erotic haiku cycle entitled Boston Rendezvous.

To thank my readers, I'm also giving away a free PDF of my M/M/F ménage story Something Borrowed, complete with a cover designed by me. All you have to do is ask! Send me email at contest - at - lisabetsarai.com with the subject line "Free Story", from the email where you want the PDF sent. It's as easy as that!

At the Erotica Readers & Writers Association this month, I'm talking about mobile computing and what it means to authors in the latest column in my Erotogeek series, "App-y Together: Straight Talk about Mobile Madness". If you've ever wondered exactly how an app works, I explain this (and more) in simple terms.

My major work in progress, Rajasthani Moon, is starting to look like it will be novel length. I'm having a fabulous time penning the adventures of Cecily Harrowsmith, secret agent for Her Majesty Queen Victoria - Amir, the Rajah of Rajasthan - and Pratan, his shape-shifting half brother. In Rajasthan, anything can happen!

I've also got a couple of shorter works simmering on the back burner. Given how long it takes me to finish a novel, I may try to bang those out first.

Contests!

Congratulations to Kaylyn and Anne, the two winners of my September "Buying Books" contest. And thanks to all of you who shared their book-buying preferences. The answers were quite varied. I was pleased to read that some of you still actually visit brick and mortar bookstores! (For a glimpse of one of my favorite bookstores, read my recent blog post.)

Since November is the traditional time for gratitude, I'm running a contest with that theme. The prize? An autographed print copy of Switch (first prize) and a PDF copy of Mastering Maya (second prize). All you have to do is send me an email at contest - at - lisabetsarai.com, using the subject line "Gratitude". In the email, tell me the top three three things you're thankful for this November. That's all there is to it!
I'll tell you my list (although I have so many blessings, it's a bit difficult to choose):
  1. My health
  2. My husband
  3. My readers

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for November is Erzabet Bishop's review blog Erzabet's Enchantments. Looking for something sexy to read? Erzabet's blog is a great place to browse, particularly if you're partial to BDSM and related themes. In fact, as I was wandering around, starry-eyed, I discovered that the site had reviewed the Switch anthology - and gave it 5 out of 5!

Lisabet's September News

Spank Me Again Cover
New and Upcoming Releases

Good heavens! I've got three new releases this month - and September is only half over!

If Fifty Shades has whet your appetite for stories about dominance and submission, get yourself a copy of my new BDSM short story collection, Spank Me Again, Stranger. The ebook collects ten sublimely perverse tales of power and pain, desire and surrender, many of them new. The stories vary in tone and intensity, from a light-hearted public spanking on a woman's thirtieth birthday to the intimate extremity of blood sports, but all of them focus as much on the relationship between the characters as on the physical trappings of BDSM.

Also out this month is the Total-E-Bound anthology Switch, six novellas by your favorite romance authors: Desiree Holt, Elizabeth Coldwell, Amy Valenti, Wendi Zwaduk, plus newcomer Lauren Gallagher - and of course, me! My contribution, Mastering Maya, centers on the relationship of an experienced dominatrix and the arrogant young Dom who challenges her to give in to her submissive side. You can find a sexy, romantic excerpt here. Want your own copy? Buy now from Total-E-Bound and save 10% off the list price!

Finally, the charity anthology Coming Together: Arm in Arm in Arm, edited by the inimitable Nobilis Reed, is now available. This collection of tentacle erotica (yes, you read that right!) benefits Oceana, the world's largest international organization focusing solely on ocean concentration. Arm in Arm in Arm includes my erotic horror tale "Fleshpot" as well as tales by some of my favorite authors. Get your copy today and do your part to save the watery world.

Other News

My free story this month is a piece of M/M erotica entitled Labrinth. It doesn't exactly have a happy ending, but you might enjoy it anyway.

At the Erotica Readers & Writers Association this month, I consider the topic of social networking in the latest column in my Erotogeek series, "Social Butterfly: Databases, Graphs and Connection-based Marketing". If you missed any of the previous columns, which dealt with issues from HTML to privacy, just click on the ERWA Archives link.

After my exhausting marathon of marketing for Quarantine (which is now available in print, by the way), I've eased up on guest blogging a bit, but next Tuesday I'll be over at Vijaya Schartz' blog, talking about science fiction (and giving away a copy of Bodies of Light) and on Wednesday I'll be featured at Trashionista online magazine. Don't worry, if you're on my mailing list, I'll send you reminders. And if you're not - why not hop over to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lisabets_list/ and sign up?

I've finished reading submissions for the anthology I'm editing, Coming Together: In Vein. I'll be sending out acceptances soon, and hope to have the book out before Christmas. Vampires for the holidays? Why not?

Contests!

Congratulations to Juliana, the winner of my August "Custom Story" contest. Actually, she offered several different ideas; she has quite a lively imagination!

For September, I'm going to pick two winners and give away two prizes: a copy of Spank Me Again, Stranger and a print copy of Quarantine. What do you need to do to get in on the action? Send an email to contest - at - lisabetsarai.com, using the subject line "Book Buying". In the email, tell me the top three places (physical or virtual, in order of preference) where you buy your books. And let me know which of the two books up for grabs you would prefer. It's as easy as that!

I won't be able to pick a winner until after the 20th of September, because I'll be traveling. So you have longer than usual to enter - but why wait?

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for September is H.K. Carlton's blog Pick a Genre Already. I had H.K. as my guest recently, to talk about her first release, and I kind of fell in love with her. (Not in that way!) Anyway, she's just getting started in the publishing biz, so I hope you'll pop over and read some of her lively posts.
