I have a group of very special friends – the readers who belong to my VIP email list. Some of them have been following me for years. I know them well enough that I recognize them, just from their email addresses. I’m very grateful for their loyalty and support.

I’d love to have you join this select group. You’ll get first notice about all my new releases and giveaways. I also announce guests whom I think my readers will particularly enjoy (especially other authors who are offering attractive prizes!)

In addition, at least four times per year I run exclusive contests, just for them. There’s one in progress right now: first prize is a $10 gift certificate, second prize is a $5 gift certificate and third prize is the winner’s choice of any of my indie published titles.

Want in? Just click the link below to join, and I’ll send you the details.

In addition, anyone new who joins my list will receive a free copy of my holiday erotic romance Gray Christmas, in your choice of ebook formats.

Youre never too old for some holiday naughtiness

Widowed author Emma Granger has reconciled herself to spending Christmas Eve in snowy Boston, with a nice bottle of Pinot Grigio and her cat Vronsky. Her daughters have their own lives on the West Coast. Emma knows she can’t expect them to visit every holiday.

A loud crash from the apartment above her overturns her plans for a quiet evening at home. When she investigates, she meets Nick North, an energetic iconoclast with a gray ponytail, a silver earring and bright blue eyes that kindle feelings she’d thought were gone forever. Nick is her own age, maybe older, but his lean body and impish grin affect her as if she were a horny teenager.

Although Emma makes her living writing spicy romance, sex with a stranger seems ludicrous when you’re an arthritic grandmother in your sixties. Still, the attraction she feels for her charismatic upstairs neighbor appears to be reciprocated. A Christmas fling might be just what Emma needs to brighten her holiday.

Sunday Snog #191: The Ingredients of Bliss

Sunday greetings! Per tradition, I’ve got another kiss excerpt for you today. In last month’s VIP email list contest, I gave two winners copies of the books of their choice. I was delighted that both of them chose The Ingredients of Bliss. So I thought I’d pull this week’s snog from that source.

If you’d like to be included in this month’s VIP giveaway, by the way, all you have to do is send me an email asking me to add you to the list. I do at least one contest monthly, exclusively for those of you kind enough to join. You can reach me at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com.

When you’re done with my snog, head back to Victoria’s Sunday Snog page for lots more sexy Sunday kisses!

I struggled to organize my thoughtsnot an easy task when given that he had two fingers inserted between my pussy lips, stroking and burrowing into my folds.

Wellbefore we met, I would never have thought Id enjoywell, you knowthe things we do.

He arched an eyebrow. “Things? Be specific, please.”

After all this time together, he could still make me blush. And I knew it amused him to see my pale cheeks grow pink with embarrassment.

Come on. You know what Im talking about. Spankings. Being tied up. Submission.I sat up straighter, seeking a bit of dignity.Ive always been assertive to the point of being bossy. Nobody would ever believe that I could be a submissive. I cant believe it.

But it seems to be true,” he commented, punctuating his statement with a hard twist to my nipple.

Lightning shot from that tender nub down to my equally swollen clit.

You love it when I use you. Even the pain.

I nodded. So after three months with you, Im getting used to the idea that Im sexually submissive. Then I find myself getting turned on when I order Etienne around. Whats going on? I dont know whether Im really a top, just pretending to be submissive, or really a bottom who happens to like the idea of dominating her boss.

Harry leaned in for a fruit-flavored kiss. Meanwhile, he kneaded my breasts like bread dough, further leavening my arousal. I flung my arms around his neck and pulled him closer, grateful for the moment to be unbound so that I could run my palms over his smooth shoulders and down his solid back. His mouth swept me back into a state of dizzying lust. By the time he released me, Id almost forgotten what wed been discussing.

You worry too much, love.Harry ran his fingers through his tangled locks then stretched out on the bed next to me.Why not just express your desires, wherever they lead you?

You know the way I am, Harry. I need to understand. I like to be in control of myself and the situation.

With sudden strength, he caught my wrists in one of his big hands and dragged my arms over my head. Would he bind me again? Did I want him to? Did it matter?

New Year's Greetings and February Newsletter

Year of the Goat
Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Goat. This may not be a big deal wherever you are, but here in Asia, it's a major holiday. Given the goat's reputation for randiness, I thought he'd be an appropriate symbol for an erotica and erotic romance author like me!

New and Upcoming Releases

I have tons of news since my last newsletter. Okay, I know that was in November, but still, I've been really busy. I've got four new releases, not including anthologies, plus a bunch more in the pipeline.

First of all, if you're looking for hot, smart romance, check out my novel Nasty Business, in a new edition from Fireborn Publishing. I really like the cover, which captures the tension between the heroine and hero. Ruby Maxwell Chen, the beautiful and ruthless CEO of a huge British business empire, is used to getting her way. When she encounters American entrepreneur Rick Martell, though, she wonders if she hasn't finally met her match. Put these two together, and the sparks fly!

Then there's the first two books of my D&S Duos series. These are neat little packages with two BDSM erotic stories in each one. Book 1 contains "Body Electric" and "Limits: A Love Story". Book 2 includes "Never Too Late" and "Just a Spanking". Although they're short, they are emotionally (as well as physically) intense. I think you'll like them.
The covers for the series are by Excessica author and artist Willsin Rowe - a very talented guy in both roles.

Finally, I got my metaphorical feet wet just before Christmas by self-publishing my holiday story Slush. I had so much fun in the process that I'm planning on self-publishing a collection of paranormal erotica as soon as I can manage it.

In addition to these single-author titles, my story The Late Show is in the recently released collection Best Lesbian Erotica 2015, editing by the legendary Laura Antoniou, and I have two tales in this year's Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica (Volume 13), edited by Maxim Jakubowski.

Looking ahead, March will see the early download release of The Eyes of Bast from Totally Bound as well as the next book in the D&S Duos series, which will feature two femdom tales (just for a bit of variety). Also in March, LadyLit Publishing will bring out my brand new lesbian fantasy The Witches of Gloucester. I have also had a fun new M/M story entitled To Boldy Go accepted by Nobilis Reed for his charity anthology on a pioneering theme, Coming Together: Outside the Box. I'm not sure exactly when that's coming out, but I've already got an excerpt posted for you to enjoy.

In April, I'll release the fourth volume of D&S Duos, and a new collection of lesbian short stories entitled Her Own Devices.

I'm exhausted just thinking about all the promotion!

Free Reading and Other News

This month's free reading is a wolf-shifter story set on New Years Eve, entitled First Moon. I've also added a seasonal poem (for those of you who like such things), Solstice. After years of not writing much poetry, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's monthly verse exercises at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog. I'm a sucker for a challenge!

Did you know I have more than fifty free stories available on my website? Next time you're looking for a quick erotica or romance fix, why not drop by? Whether your preferences run to paranormal, BDSM, science fiction, M/M, F/F or ménage, you're likely to find something to suit your tastes. I'm nothing if not versatile.

The page also includes a list of free PDF books which are available for the asking. All you have to do is send me an email request.

So I posted a contest in my last newsletter, but received zero entries. That's right, none. Zilch. Nada. I won't make that mistake again LOL. I will, however, be running a blog tour for The Eyes of Bast, most likely in April, as well as my usual frequent giveaways. For example, I'm giving away both D&S Duos books over at Decadent Divas this Saturday, and I have an open giveaway running until Sunday the 22nd at my blog.

The best way to stay informed about all my releases and contests, is to join my VIP email list. Just send an email to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Every month I run an exclusive contest for my VIP readers. This month (I'll announce the details early next week) I'll be offering a bookstore gift certificate plus a free ebook pack. You still have a few days to join!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My February pick of the month is The Good Men Project, a website that examines what it means to be an enlightened male in the twenty first century. One of my friends and colleagues, Spencer Dryden, is a regular contributor to the site, which is how I found out about it. Well worth exploring!

Voracious Readers!

I recently ran a contest for members of my VIP email list. I do this every month, to thank the two hundred or so folks on the list for letting me send them promo messages. To enter, a person usually just sends an email to a special address I've set up for contests, and I draw the winners at random.

Sometimes I use this sort of giveaway for market research. This past month, I asked people who entered to answer two questions: 1) how many books do you typically read per month? 2) how many books do you typically buy per month?

Thirty three people entered this contest. The answers were pretty interesting. Many of these people read so much, I don't know how they get anything else done in their lives! Quite a few answered with ranges, so that's how I tallied the results.

Here are the statistics. "Lower bound" means the lower end of a range, while "upper bound" means the upper end. If a reader specified a single number, I used that for both lower and upper bound.

Read per month, lower bound – average 17 --- min 2, max 45
Read per month, upper bound – average 20 --- min 3. max 45

Bought per month, lower bound – average 11 --- min 0, max 30
Bought per month, upper bound – average 15 --- min 0, max 50

Quite a few responses explicitly mentioned that they read a lot of free fiction as well (presumably from Kindle or other free sites). Also some talked about using the library rather than buying books because of financial constraints. Several people said that the price of a book made a significant difference in their decision whether to buy or not.

Seven out of thirty three respondents typically buy more books than they read. In one extreme case, the person reads 4-6 books per month but buys 30-50! (Some of those might be free; she didn't specify.)

Several people made a distinction between short fiction (short stories/novellas) and novels. In cases where this wasn't stated, I assume that many of the books are actually shorter than novel length.

Most of these readers are people I've met via erotic romance promotion rather than pure erotica. Still, it's hard to claim from this (admittedly limited) data that people are not reading, or that they're not buying books.

I should mention that many of my readers consume far more books that I do!

What about you? Are you as voracious as my VIP readers?

(And by the way, if you want to be added to my email list and have a chance to win exclusive prizes every month, just send me email at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com!)
