Lisabet's May News

Lusty month of may
The lusty month of May!

Welcome to my May Newsletter! I've always loved May - "that gorgeous month when everyone goes blissfully astray", in the words of Lerner and Loewe. Believe me, I've got plenty of lusty and loving fiction for you this month.

New and Upcoming Releases

So I have two releases since my last newsletter, and two more coming up within the next two weeks.

Witches Cover

The Eyes of Bast, available now from Totally Bound, is a shifter romance with a twist. It features a determined heroine, a devastatingly gorgeous hero, and a villain whom you'll love to hate, but end up pitying. Read an excerpt here. You'll find lots of other delicious bits at my blog and scattered around the cybersphere at the blogs of my fellow authors, who have been fabulous in helping me get the word out. Check out, for instance, my post Channeling the Cat", over at Cheyenne Blue's site. Or why not just give in and buy a copy?

DS Duos 4 Cover

Also out now is the fourth volume in my D&S Duos series, which despite the title actually includes three stories: "Like Riding a Bicycle", about a long married couple rediscovering their BDSM roots; "Limbo", a tale of intense connection, beyond space and time; and a bonus story, "Blind Obedience". Get yourself a copy of this deliciously kinky nugget here.

Meanwhile I have two very different short story collections, both in the 30K word range, coming in the next two weeks. Her Own Devices contains nine succulent and sensitive tales of love and lust between women. (Read an excerpt from one of the stories here.) I don't have the final cover yet, but I am expecting it any day.

I've also put together a collection of dark paranormal erotica entitled Fourth World: Erotic tales of monsters, myths and magic. Two of the seven stories in this book are previously unpublished. Warning: none of the stories in this book has an unambiguously happy ending. What they do have is heat and emotional intensity -- in excess.

Fourth World Cover

I should also mention that The Gonzo Collection by Daddy X (and edited by me) is available now in ebook and print at all the usual spots.

Gonzo Collection Cover

These edgy stories will not be to everyone's taste, but personally I love Daddy's fresh voice and wild imagination.

Free Reading and Other News

I added a new "romance" to my free reading page, entitled "Myonphobia". Don't take it too seriously. I've also got an old poem about the complexities of love, entitled "404 E. Spruce Street".

You know, sometimes we authors wonder if there's anyone out there. I have more than fifty free stories and poems on my website. Have you read any of them? Next time you're looking for a bit of love or lust, why not visit? Then send me an email (lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com) to tell me what you read, and what you thought about it. In return I will send you a free ebook from my back list.

I'm doing my newsletter early this month because in less than two weeks I am headed to Europe for ten days. Part of my trip is business unrelated to my writing. However, I'll also be attending the fabulous Smut By The Sea event in Scarborough on 23 May. I'll be reading sexy stuff, signing autographs and giving books away. If you're in the UK, you might think about attending. Regular tickets are free!. Just click on the logo below to go to the official site for more information.

The best way to stay informed about all my releases, contests and events is to join my VIP email list. Just send an email to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Every month I run an exclusive contest for my VIP readers. For my May giveaway--well, it's early in the month, so I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to use as a prize. Maybe a lingerie gift certificate. Or a custom story... You'll never know unless you join...!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My May pick of the month is Emily L. Byrne's blog. Emily is an alter-ego of talented author Catherine Lundoff. Emily writes lesbian fiction, and most of her guests focus on that genre. Expect intelligent and insightful posts about sex, love and writing, as well as scalding excerpts. Highly recommended!

Lisabet's March News

Young man on a couch
Care to join me?

Welcome to my March Newsletter! No, I'm not above bribing you to read by offering you some eye candy... but I've also got lots of exciting info to share.

New and Upcoming Releases

Since my last newsletter, less than four weeks ago, I've released two new books in very different genres. And I have a full schedule stacked up for the next six weeks!

Witches Cover

Right now, I'm celebrating the publication of my very first single author F/F book, The Witches of Gloucester. This story (about 12,000 words) was originally written for my upcoming F/F collection Her Own Devices. I wanted some variety, since most of the stories in that book are realistic, contemporary pieces about couples. In contrast, Witches is a paranormal fantasy piece with a light-hearted tone, and features a threesome of delicious heroines. The publisher, however, felt that Witches would do better as a stand-alone title. Perhaps she thought it was too different from the rest of the stories. Anyway, it's out now and available at all your favorite bookstores. For a full list of links, go to the LadyLit site. You can read a spicy excerpt here.

Duos3 Cover

The third volume of my D&S Duos series is also available now. This book includes two female-dominant stories, "Be Careful What You Wish For", and "Layover". You won't find stereotyped harsh mistresses in corsets and stilettos in these tales, though. My heroines wield more subtle forms of power—and the heroes love it.

And that's just the beginning. Here's a rough schedule of my releases coming up:
  • March 27 - Early download release of The Eyes of Bast from Totally Bound (M/F paranormal erotic romance)
  • April 3 - D&ampS Duos Book 4 (M/F BDSM erotica)
  • mid April - Her Own Devices (F/F erotica/romance)
  • April 24 - General Release of The Eyes of Bast
  • April 24 - Release of The Gonzo Collection by Daddy X, edited by me (over-the-top erotica)
  • late May - Coming Together: Outside the Box, including my M/M story "To Boldy Go"

I will be doing a blog tour for The Eyes of Bast the last week in April, with some fantastic prizes. Also, I'm working on a collection of paranormal short stories which should be out by May.

Oh, I have one more publication credit this past month. If you like to hear your erotic romance tales read out loud, check out Nobilis Reed's podcast site. He's featuring my steampunk story Green Cheese. To listen to it, go to the link below. You'll need Flash-enabled web browser.

Free Reading and Other News

This month's free read is one of my oldest BDSM romance stories, and one of my favorites: Wednesday Night at Rocky's Ace Hardware. Dominance and submission well-sweetened with love—check it out.

Speaking of free (and BDSM...), I also have links on the free reading page to a brand new book of kink entitled Beyond 50 Shades. This 200-plus page book, edited by award-winning D.L. King, includes fifty extended excerpts from the best BDSM erotica and erotic romance available in the market. You'll recognize lots of names—including, of course, mine. The book's available in pdf, mobi and epub formats.

While we're on the subject of awards, Cheyenne Blue's wonderful lesbian anthology Forbidden Fruit: Stories of Unwise Lesbian Desire has been nominated for a prestigious Lambda Literary Award. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

The best way to stay informed about all my releases and contests, is to join my VIP email list. Just send an email to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Every month I run an exclusive contest for my VIP readers. For my March giveaway, the winner will have a choice of any two books from my backlist. I'll be announcing the contest next week, so if you want to sign up, do it now!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My March pick of the month is Big Ed's Place. Big Ed Magnusson is one of my colleagues from the Erotica Readers & Writers Association. Ed writes ferociously intelligent, consistently arousing erotica, often touching on difficult subjects like addiction and loneliness. His site is a joy to navigate; the wonderful manga-style art work is a bonus. (He also has an explicit photo gallery with images of his characters.)

Lisabet's November Newsletter

Bride and Groom in Hayfield
Happy Thanksgiving!

Welcome to the autumn harvest issue of my newsletter. I've got information about new and upcoming releases, free reading, and a fabulous, easy contest!

New and Upcoming Releases

Since my last newsletter, I've released two books with Excessica, Bangkok Noir and Exposure. Both fall into the category of erotic suspense. Both have received rave reviews (see for example, here and here). Jim at BDSM Book Reviews wrote about Bangkok Noir:
This is definitely one of the most original D/s themed books I have read in a very long time. The exquisitely kinky and erotic BDSM play is just a bonus.

The new editions feature covers designed and implemented by yours truly. Although I'm not very skilled with graphics tools, I'm pretty happy with the results.

Bangkok Noir coverExposure cover

My other two major titles that were orphaned when I left Books We Love have also been contracted. My BDSM romantic erotica novel Nasty Business will be released by Fireborn Publishing in January. Totally Bound will republish my paranormal romance The Eyes of Bast in March. I've got a cover for the latter. Isn't it gorgeous?

The Eyes of Bast Cover

In addition to these single-author titles, I've got stories pending in high profile anthologies. My lesbian tale The Late Show will be featured in Best Lesbian Erotica 2015, editing by the legendary Laura Antoniou. And I have two stories in this year's Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica (Volume 13), edited by Maxim Jakubowski: Layover (F/m BDSM) and Limits: A Love Story (M/f BDSM). You know me - I like variety!

You can find excerpts from all of these tales on my books and coming soon pages.

Looking a bit further into the future, I'm planning a series of BDSM short story books with Excessica, called D & S Duos. Each book will have two BDSM-themed stories, back to back, about 10,000 words. Just the right thing for a quick read before bed...! The first one should be out just after the new year. I'm also putting together a book length collection of lesbian erotica and erotic romance, which will include some brand new content. Finally - well, not finally, of course, because there is always another story in the wings - I'm hoping to get back to work on The Gazillionaire and the Virgin, my turnabout erotic romance. More on all this in my next newsletter.

Contests and Other News

I've updated my free reading page with the first chapter of a new erotic romance serial, Unveiled. I started this book, in which the heroine is a belly dancer, years ago, then put it aside while I worked on other projects. I'm hoping that making a commitment by putting it up on my website will encourage me to finish it! (By the way, you might want to check out the photo of me in my belly dancing costume - taken many years ago!)

Speaking of free reading, have you checked out my M/M BDSM vampire story Renfield's Lament in the Erotica Readers & Writers Association gallery? Brand new, first time published. Warning: it does not have a happy ending.

I've decided to reinstate my monthly newsletter contest. This month, I'm running a giveaway called What's Your Fantasy?. You could win a custom story, written especially for you, that features your favorite erotic fantasy - as well as several gift certificates!

Here's how it works. Send me an email at contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "My Fantasy". In the body of the email, briefly describe the story you'd most like to read. Keep it short, no more than one or two sentences.

I will read your fantasies and pick the one that most inspires me, then write that story, dedicated to you! If I pick your fantasy, I will also send you a $5 Totally Bound gift voucher. In addition, assuming I get at least 10 entries, I will draw a random winner from among the remaining submissions and give that reader a $10 Totally Bound gift certificate. You have until December first to send in your fantasies. But why not do it now, before you forget?

For my November VIP readers contest, I'll be giving away another copy of The Ingredients of Bliss. Only people on my email list are eligible. If you want to join, just send me email at at lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "VIP subscription" and I'll get you signed up right away. I'll announce the contest rules on the mailing list next week!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My November pick of the month is The Velvet Lair, the blog of my prolific colleague Suz de Mello. Suz loves to travel, as I do. She write sexy erotica and erotic romance, often with a BDSM flavor. In short, she's a woman after my own heart. She posts almost every day, either about her own stuff or that of her guests. Visit The Velvet Lair for fun and passion!

October News

Halloween image
Love Hurts
Happy Halloween!

New and Upcoming Releases

Welcome to the October - that is, the Halloween - edition of my newsletter. I'll make it quick, so you can get back to working on your costumes and cooking up your caramel apples...!

My only new release since last newsletter is my BDSM free read A Case of You , available now from the newly revamped Totally Bound website. Their stellar art department has come up with new covers for all the free books. I love this one!

A Case of You Cover

Rough Weather CoverSpeaking of covers, though, I've received the cover for Rough
Weather, which will be out in January. I'm thrilled with it; it
really captures the feeling of the story. Read an
      excerpt
      here and you'll
      see what I mean.

I've also got the cover for my next release, Her Secret Ingredient. This lively, sexy romp will be out next month as part of Totally Bound's new What's Her Secret? line.

When the Tastes of France food channel offers Mei Lee “Emily” Wong a series of guest spots, she jumps at the opportunity to take her culinary career to a whole new level. Ultimately, she wants a show of her own, but first she has to prove herself to Michelin-starred network founder and effective dictator, Etienne Duvalier. A legend in the world of classic French cuisine as well as a domineering perfectionist, Etienne is sceptical about the culinary abilities of a woman from Hong Kong. To make things more difficult, the master chef is also irresistibly gorgeous.
Her Secret Ingredient Cover
Emily tries to solve both problems by spiking her luscious profiteroles with an ancient Oriental aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, Harry Sanborne, the low-key, bespectacled producer for Emily's show, samples the delicacies she intends for Etienne's consumption. His powerful reaction to her secret ingredient comes as a pleasant surprise to them both. Harry turns out to be far more impressive in bed than on the set. However, he can't do nearly as much to advance her ambitions as Etienne. Emily tries once more to tempt the exacting M. Duvalier with her special cooking as well as her feminine charms. The outrageous results threaten to end her TV career forever - until Harry steps in to save her reputation and claim her heart.

I had so much fun writing this tale that I'm planning a follow-up novel, which will take Emily, Harry and Etienne to France for further adventures. Meanwhile, you can read an excerpt from the story here. Of course, I'll be doing some giveaways to celebrate the release. Stay tuned for more information!

Oh, I nearly forgot! If you're an old-fashioned type like me, a person who still likes to read physical books, you might like to snag a copy of Rajasthani Moon in paperback. It will be available next Friday, the 25th of October.

Other News

For free reading this month, I've added the next chapter of my CatToy shifter serial. To read the book from the beginning, go to the free reading index page and scroll down to the "paranormal" category.
I've also added a brand new poem. In the last few months, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's writing exercises at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog to try out some new poetic forms. This month's poem, Galatea, is my first attempt at the rather complicated form known as a vilanelle.

Tomorrow I'll be guest blogging at H.C. Brown's and on Friday, at Normandie Alleman's. The following week, on Halloween, I've got a guest appearance at H.K. Carlton's blog. I'll be giving away a bookstore gift certificate in conjunction with these appearances. For details, keep an eye on my blog, or sign up to be on my private mailing list.

Speaking of my mailing list, I'll be sending out information about this month's exclusive drawing next Friday. Only people on my list are eligible to enter!

If you're not on my email list but would like to be, just send an email to contest [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com with the subject line "Add Me", from the email you want added
.
Contests!

Congratulations to Juliana, who won my "BDSM" contest. She started her email with the sentence "I LOVE BDSM Stories!". That's not why I picked her, though - honest! Random.org selected her name, not me! Thanks to everyone who entered.

I've decided that people are getting bored with my monthly Newsletter contests. For one thing, they go on too long. You enter and then have to wait for a month - sometimes two! - to discover whether you're the winner. Instead, I'll do contests here on my blog, at least twice a month. I'll announce them, of course. Keep your eyes and ears open.

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My pick of the month for October is Nobilis Erotica, the longest running erotica podcast on the Web. Nobilis offers dozens of free audio tales, including a couple by me. Many, but certainly not all, are science fiction or speculative fiction. The site has Android or iPhone podcast apps for download too! Intelligent, well-written, professionally recorded audio-erotica, for free... What's not to love?

Lisabet's August News

Coming Together with a Twist Cover
New and Upcoming Releases
I'm still trying to catch my breath after my promotional frenzy for Quarantine. I'm doing some more guest blogs this month, though, and I'll be giving away several copies of the book as prizes in various places. Want to know when and where? Just join my Yahoo group, Lisabet's List and you'll hear about everything I'm up to!
Response to the book has generally been very positive. In fact I've had several readers contact me, clamoring for a sequel. I'll see what I can do!
You never forget the feel of the whip...
Rachel Kramer Bussel's anthology Anything for You: Erotica for Kinky Couples was released just a few days ago. It includes my contribution Like Riding a Bicycle, a sexy BDSM story about a couple getting back to their kinky roots.
And while we're talking about dominance and submission, Coming Together is putting together a collection of BDSM tales entitled Coming Together: With a Twist. Alessia Brio has designed yet another fantastic cover, as you can see above. I think the book will be out by the end of August. Oh course, I have a story included...!
Bangkok Noir received a Five Kisses, Recommended Read review from Two Lips Reviews. "Bangkok Noir grabs you from the opening paragraph and doesn’t let you go until the fade-out." says Tim. Curious? Read an excerpt from the book here.
I've got the covers for both the Switch anthology and the stand-alone release of my novella Mastering Maya. For the latter, see my Coming Soon page. But actually, I think I like the antho cover even better! What do you think?
Switch Cover
Other News
Cat Toy is back! You'll find Chapter 5 on my free reading page.
And speaking of free stories, have you checked out my Hot Shot On the Beach, in the Total-E-Bound August newsletter? For another hot BDSM ménage featuring Bella, Greg and James, just click here.
At the Erotica Readers & Writers Association, my latest column in my Erotogeek series is entitled "I Want to Be Alone: Safeguarding Your Identity, Your Privacy and Your Sanity in the Digital Age". Check it out. You might find some useful pointers.
Contests!
Congratulations to Chris, the winner of my July "Promo Suggestion" contest. And thanks to all who entered for your feedback.
I think my readers are getting giveaway fatigue. Or maybe the relatively poor response to my recent contests just has to do with summer. Anyway, this month I thought I'd try something different. I'm having a Custom Story Contest. The prize is a story that I'll write, especially for you, with the characters, subject and genre of your choice!
To enter, just send me an email to contest - at - lisabetsarai.com, using the subject line "Custom Story Contest". In the email, tell me about your ideal story: plot, protagonists, setting, desired heat level, and so on. You can go into as much or as little detail as you like.
Around the middle of September I'll randomly pick one entry and write a short story to your specifications! The story will be between 3000 and 5000 words long (so please don't give me enough detail for an entire novel LOL!) and will be dedicated to you. You'll be the first person on the planet to read it. (However, I'll still own the copyright and reserve the right to publish it elsewhere.)
Sound like fun? Start thinking about just what you'd like to see in your custom story!
Lisabet's Pick of the Month
My pick of the month for August is M/M author Sage Marlowe's blog. Recently she had a wonderful post about the similarities between coming out as a gay person, and revealing the fact that you write erotic fiction. While you're browsing around, you might want to check out Sage's website, too. Tell her Lisabet sent you LOL!
