Embracing My Inner Pornographer - #strokefiction #taboo #elitistsnob

I have to apologize. Through most of my life as Lisabet Sarai (which began in 1999 when I published the first edition of Raw Silk), I’ve been something of an elitist snob. Despite having written a great many extremely filthy sex scenes, I’ve always considered myself as an author of “literary erotica”. If you’d asked me what I meant by that label, I’d have launched into a spirited explanation of how my work focused on “the experience of desire” and the “emotional and spiritual aspects of sexuality”, not just on the physical acts involved. I would also have talked about how much I hate the stereotypes of porn, and how hard I’ve tried to use original premises, perspectives and characters in my erotica. Finally, I’d mention (maybe a bit shyly) the fact that I view style and craft to be at least as important in erotica as sexual heat.

All of this is true. Nevertheless, if you listened closely, you might have detected a bit of defensiveness in my exposition. My work is not porn, reads the subtext. It’s not obscene. It has redeeming artistic value. Sure, Amazon might be ready to throw me into the adult dungeon along with the authors of Gang-bang at the OK Corral and Taking Daddy’s Big Cock Up My Ass, but my stories are differentmore thoughtful, nuanced and complex, less exploitative and nasty. Better... or at least more socially acceptable.

Bull turds.

Nearly twenty years after coming out as an erotic writer, I’m starting to realize that as far as the world is concerned, I’m just as guilty of writing dirty stories as the author of Lezzie Virgins Violated by Extraterrestrial Octopi or Stealing My Sister’s Smelly Panties. The richness of my descriptions, the depth of my characterization, the vividness with which I evoke my settingsnone of this changes the fact that, at the end of the day, I write what most people would call smut. Furthermore, my most dedicated fans read my stuff at least partly for the arousal, not because of its literary merit.

In addition, I’ve come to understand that my fears of being viewed as nothing more than a stroke author have held me back. There have been times, especially when I was aiming at a romance market, when I’ve censored myself, turning down the heat or at least mitigating the rawness in my tales for fear of alienating my readers. My fear and my snobbishness combined to make my work less than genuine.

A few years ago, I started to deliberately write stroke fiction. Now I have a 600-page plus boxed set of five books (Vegas Babes) that are basically wall-to-wall, no-holds-barred, every-combination-and-position sex. While these books do have a plot and what I hope are appealing characters, my main goals are to entertain my readers and to get them hot and horny. I have no deeper message, aside from the general position that sex is tremendous fun and everyone should get as much as they want.

I’m working now on the first book of a new stroke series, The Pornographer’s Apprentice. It’s both easier and harder than writing so-called literary erotica. On the one hand, I don’t have to censor myself (much – I’m so tempted to introduce taboo elements like sister-sister incest into the current book, but I do want to avoid the dungeon if I can). On the other hand, it’s sometimes a struggle to turn off my inner critic and just let my fantasies out onto the page. I really have to stop over-thinking things like narrative structure, balanced POV and the Aristotelian unities, because that just slows me down.

Aside from the volume of the sex and the eager horniness of my characters, these porn books are actually less transgressive than some of my more literary work. There’s some mild BDSM, but none of the edgy power exchange action that shows up in my earlier books. I don’t know whether that will change as I continue to explore this corner of my imagination. Having opened this can of worms, I’ll be interested to see what crawls out.

One thing I’d like to try is writing some futa fiction. I’m also personally turned on by some incest scenarios, despite the official prohibition. There are other forbidden but titillating topics that call out to me.

I don’t know if I’m brave enough to respond to those calls. I’m afraid my existing fans would drop me in disgust. Obviously I could create a new pen name for the taboo stories, but I already find managing one pseudonymous identity takes more time and effort than I have available.

Anyway, I’ll have to see where my Muse leads me. She has a very dirty mind.

Meanwhile I’m forced to acknowledge that the boundary between erotica and porn is sufficiently subjective and fluid that it might not exist at all.

End of Year, End of Story! #amwriting #goals #WIP @Archer_Larry

The end of the story

It is seven PM on New Year’s Eve, and I’ve done it!

I just wrote “The End” on the first draft of my major work in progress, Sin City Sweethearts. This book, the third volume in my Vegas Babes series, took forever to write, mainly because work and other responsibilities limited the time I could devote to it. The book is also significantly longer than the other two installments, clocking in at more than 50K words. My characters just didn't want to stop playing around!

Originally I wanted to publish the book for Christmas. Then by New Year’s. I’ve had to revise my expectations, but I’m still thrilled to be done with it. I expect it will be out before the end of January.

Sin City Sweethearts is another sex-drenched romp set in Larry Archer’s fictional Las Vegas, peopled by strippers and swingers, bouncers and bodacious babes. (Larry has promised to write me a juicy intro for this book, too!)

Annie and Ted, whose outrageous wedding provided the background for More Brides in Vegas, are back, and naughtier than ever. When a pair of gorgeous, innocent college freshmen move into the apartment downstairs, Annie and Ted can't resist taking them in under their wing and providing some carnal education.

I’ll be posting a cover reveal, blurb and teasers soon. Meanwhile, you can find an excerpt from More Brides here:

Happy New Year!

Review Tuesday: Stripper or Nurse by Larry Archer -- #ReviewTuesday #hotwife #smut

Stripper or Nurse cover

Stripper or Nurse by Larry Archer
Self-published at Amazon and Smashwords, 2017

Larry Archer’s erotic novel Stripper or Nurse begins with a heart attack. One of the patrons at The Fox’s Den, a high end gentleman’s club just off the Las Vegas strip, gets a bit too excited watching the lovely dancers and keels over. But never fear. All the strippers at the Den are trained in CPR. Dancers Peaches and Monique take turns working on the customer, keeping him alive until the ambulance arrives—though when he regains consciousness to find himself looking up at two gorgeous, naked girls, Tom wonders whether he has died and gone to heaven.

Concerned about Tom’s welfare, the two girls visit him at the hospital, only to have a run-in with Tom’s rather conservative wife Suzanne. Both jealous and worried, she blames the strip club for her husband’s condition and verbally shreds the young women who actually saved his life. When Suzanne shows up at the strip club to confront the management, she discovers that that the place is not at all what she’d imagined. Instead of a sleazy establishment that takes advantage of women, objectifying them and forcing them into sex, the Fox’s Den turns out to be classy and relaxed, a haven for exhibitionist gals who love showing off. The sensual, sex-drenched atmosphere almost immediately starts to work its magic on the unsuspecting housewife. Before she knows it, she’s fondling the breasts of the scantily clad club valets, wearing scandalously revealing clothing, masturbating in public, and offering her body to men and women alike.

Meanwhile, Tom receives very personal attention from a bevy of horny nurses, as well as Foxy Archer, wife of The Fox’s Den proprietor.

Stripper or Nurse features almost non-stop sex, with a lot of girl-on-girl action and swapping of bodily fluids. At the same time, it’s plotted quite tightly. Larry Archer manages to keep the focus on Suzanne’s enthusiastic transformation from prude to slut. He does an excellent job portraying both her doubts and her irresistible attraction to her new identity as a perpetually-aroused, anything-goes hotwife.

Overall, I really enjoyed Stripper or Nurse. I love the uninhibited sexuality in the story (indeed, in all Larry Archer’s stories), and the generous, affectionate mood. I’ve been turned off in the past by some “cuckold” tales that seem to belittle or denigrate the man involved. In this novel, Tom gets plenty of sex (despite being hospitalized through the entire book!), even as he watches (in high definition video) his wife get passed around to voracious females and well-hung males.

I did find the ending a bit abrupt. Somehow I expected a bit more tidying of loose ends. In the first half of the book, Suzanne keeps talking about a Saturday Couples Night party at the Den, and meeting people who plan to join in the Saturday fun. I expected that to be the big-bang (so to speak) ending, so I was a bit disappointed when the tale ended after a more private sex scene—if you can call a video-recorded butt-fucking “private”!

Anyway, I had a good time, as I almost always do when I enter Larry’s world of good-natured promiscuity. I’m certain I’ll be back.

Coming Soon – Hot Brides in Vegas (#smut #amwriting #fantasy @Archer_Larry)

Neon

So I’ve been working on a new book, and I finished the first round of edits today.

It’s not really a romance, though it ends with a wedding.

It’s not really erotica, or at least, not literary erotica.

Actually, the best way to describe it, for better or worse, is pure smut.

Hot Brides in Vegas is a light-hearted, totally uninhibited romp through the fantasy world created by my friend Larry Archer. In Larry’s Las Vegas, he runs the most successful strip club in the city, along with his outrageously promiscuous wife Foxy. Larry and Foxy are swingers, which means they’re not sexually exclusive—and neither is anyone else in their circle. They’re always eager to welcome newcomers, too.

I’ve read a number of books set in this fictional universe, and really liked the sex positive vibe. In Larry’s Las Vegas, everyone has fun. Everyone gets off. Feelings of guilt and shame are quickly overwhelmed by pure pleasure. I love that.

Anyway, I got inspired to write my own story set in this world. My book ended up having a bit more plot than Larry’s typically do. But there’s certainly plenty of sexual shenanigans.

Here’s the blurb. I’ll post an excerpt after I have a tentative release date and a cover!

Let me know what you think!

Hot Brides in Vegas by Lisabet Sarai

Never underestimate the power of a horny bride.

Francesca Torellis tycoon father is throwing a lavish Las Vegas wedding for his only child. Her fiancé Jake and his buddies set out for a stag night, exploring the fleshpots of Sin City. Meanwhile, Fran and her bridesmaids Laura and Chantal are stuck at the resort under the watchful eye of her stern Aunt Giulia, who has promised her brother that Franny will come to the altar a virgin.

Frustrated and annoyed by these double standards, the young women hatch a plan to escape their chaperone and have some fun of their own. With the help of a susceptible concierge, a butch ex-cop limo driver and a scandalous French couturiere, they find their way to The Foxs Den, the most exclusiveand outrageous—gentlemen’s club in the city. Owner Larry Archer and his crew of strippers, bouncers, voyeurs and sluts are more than happy to welcome the delectable trio as contestants performing at the club’s famous Amateur Night.

The gleeful permissiveness of the Den challenges the women’s assumptions and undermines their inhibitions. Complications ensue when Jake and his groomsmen arrive to find Fran in the midst of her strip act. Then Aunt Giulia crashes the party, determined to save her virgin niece, and things get really sticky—both figuratively and literally.

Will love triumph? Will Francesca be drawn over to the dark side? Is there a difference?

Smut Sunday - Restraint (#poetry #bdsm #devotion)

Smut Sunday button

(To GCS)

Restraint (Rondeau)

My hands are tied, but were I free
I'd suck your cock and sip your pee;
I'd spread my lips so you could sense
the aromatic evidence
of what your voice can do to me.

My flesh and heart in heat agree.
Unlock them both; you hold the key
to joy and anguish, both intense.
My hands are tied.

You think me lost. Why can't you see?
If you should claim the whole of me
as yours, I'd offer no defense.
But you're a gentleman, and hence,
my ring makes all this fantasy.
My hands are tied.

Review Tuesday: The Watchers by LarryArcher (#hotwife #smut #review @Archer_Larry)

The Watchers cover

The Watchers: Cuckold/Hotwife #5 by Larry Archer
Smashwords and Amazon Digital Publishing, 2016

Poor Gene! He has the most boring job in the universe. He’s married to a beautiful but prudish woman who won’t give him head or try anything adventurous. Fate has even short-changed him in the area of masculine endowment.

However, Gene’s life is about to change. While sitting exhausted in a hotel bar, trying to recover from a mind-numbing seminar about insurance adjusting, he overhears two men discussing an illicit sex show. Taking pity on him, they share information about the location and the rules. In short order, Gene is sitting on one of the couches ranged around the edges of the show venue, watching incredibly filthy sexual activities unfold on the bed in the center.

He’s not just a spectator either. The voluptuous MILF Pam, a regular at these events, takes him in hand, both figuratively and literally, helping to make him more comfortable.

Meanwhile a petite blonde who seems strangely familiar moves around the perimeter, giving blow jobs to every attendee including Gene. Before long she’s been enticed into the spot light and is taking on both men and women. Only when Gene steps into the center of things and penetrates her rear orifice does he realize with a shock that this semen-drenched slut is his wife Theresa.

The Watchers is not erotic romance. It’s not literary erotica. It’s smut, plain and simple, intentionally designed for maximum arousal with minimum complications. This is not a criticism. Sometimes pure porn is what you want, and when you do, Larry Archer is the man to give it to you.

There’s not much plot, though Mr. Archer does give us some sense for the individual histories and preferences of different characters. The sex scenes are raw and rambunctious, with lots of F/F action and a preference for copious bodily fluids. The point of view shifts from one character to another (but not in a way that confuses), leaving the reader with no doubt that every character is enjoying the action.

To be honest, I find most smut of this type boring, but Mr. Archer’s tales stand out due to his personal enthusiasm for sex, his humor and his obvious respect for women. The Watchers focuses primarily on female pleasure. Not that the male characters don’t get offthey do, repeatedly—but the author loves to linger describing the ladies, what they’re doing to one another, what they want and how they feel. Furthermore, his women are not carbon copies of one another. There’s Stephanie, for instance, a building security guard who becomes entangled with the Amazonian beauty Foxy and finds herself acting out the lesbian fantasies she has never dared to share. Or Theresa herself, a good Catholic girl who discovers her inner slut when she gets her first taste of cum. Or fiery-haired Chrissy, big busted and dominant, a sort of ring leader who adores the process of “corrupting” these innocents and bringing them over to the dark side.

The women in Mr. Archer’s story are quite thoroughly used, but there’s no question that they are the ones calling the shots.

The author’s subtle humor helps keep the mood light. Foxy’s husband Larry, a recurring character in the author’s tales, runs one of Vegas’ top strip clubs. On the night of Gene’s initiation at the sex show, Larry’s absent because he’s hosting a convention of Japanese businessmen at his club. Here’s his description, afterward:

Larry pulled into his parking spot and laid his head on the steering wheel for a minute. The big group of Japanese businessmen had taken a toll on him. He wanted them to have fun but they were often a pain in the ass.

They had demanded attention from all the girls and were used to their women being subservient. Larry's girls were to a fault, women's libbers, with an attitude. His girls enjoyed their hold on men and liked to show how they could herd them around like a
sheepdog. This group of Asian men hadn't taken that well and almost constantly Larry was interposing himself in between a stripper and a drunken patron. Then occasionally, one of his security guards was in the mix.

He loved Tiny like a son but this man-mountain could be trying at times. It was funny that someone who looked like a cross between a low land gorilla and a small house could be such a pain in the ass.

Tiny thought of himself as the girl's den mother, especially when some yokel put their hands on one of them; Tiny tended to react negatively.

I have two criticisms of The Watchers. First of all, Mr. Archer needs a better editor. When you’re getting turned on, you don’t want to be distracted by grammar errors or excessive word repetition. Okay, maybe most readers won’t notice these things the way an author like me does, but this kind of problem decreases my personal enjoyment. One particularly egregious error was the fact that the author refers to Theresa by her name, in a scene told from Gene’s point of view, before he has actually recognized the woman as his wife.

Second, I wasn’t very happy with the ending. The final chapter brings Gene and Theresa together for confessions and of course sex. All of a sudden, Theresa changes from a sweet, eager slut to something of a bitch. She lays down the law to Gene, telling him she’s going to give herself to “the Bull” (Larry) and leave him with sloppy seconds. Gene will have to live with being a cuckold, or live without her.

Her behavior struck me as extremely out of character. It also spoiled the “feel good” atmosphere of the rest of the book. I don’t like abuse mixed in with my sex. One reason I enjoy Mr. Archer’s stories is that everyone ends up satisfied. In this case, Gene likes to watch his wife with other guys but he is not, fundamentally, a guy who gets off being cuckolded. Yet he’s being forced into that role. It was as if the author all of a sudden remembered that this story had been labeled as a “cuckold” tale and stuck this ending on as an afterthought.

Overall, though, I enjoyed this over-the-top erotic romp. If you’re in the mood for light-hearted, no holds (or holes!) barred sex, pick up a copy of The Watchers

Review Tuesday: Driving the Stripper Mobile by Larry Archer

Driving the Stripper Mobile

By Larry Archer

Imagine a world where everyone is sexually satisfied. Where no matter how horny you are, there’s always someone more than happy to help you out. Where love is real and special, but sexual jealousy is close to non-existent, so you can explore the infinite varieties of the flesh with different partners without alienating your soul mate. Picture a universe where sex has been divorced from guilt, where you can enjoy your own body and the bodies of others without shame, no matter how deviant your desires.

This is Larry Archer’s universe. Welcome!

In Driving the Stripper Mobile, Mr. Archer takes readers on a light-hearted trip to Las Vegas, into the sex-drenched back rooms of a strip club named the Fox’s Den. Our hero Don is down and desperate. He’s lost his wife and his job; if he can’t scrape together a bit of cash, his apartment is next. He spends his time drinking and fantasizing about the strippers, but he’s too depressed to take any action.

He doesn’t deserve his hard luck. Jenny, a sweet-tempered, intelligent dancer, strikes up a conversation with him and discovers he’s a decent guy who needs a break – not to mention a fuck. For on thing, he’s not really jealous when she comes on to other men – and women – in the club. It just makes him hornier. The connection between them grows stronger, even when she sucks off the club owner Larry, and his wife Roxy (generally, and appropriately, known as “Foxy”). Meanwhile, Larry, a tough guy with a dubious and intimidating history, hires Don to build and drive the Stripper Mobile, a truck outfitted in the back with an air conditioned plexi-glass box big enough to accommodate two of Larry’s dancers. It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it! Don manages to make the publicity stunt hugely successful, despite the – um - distractions of the gorgeous girls he’s ferrying about.

The Stripper Mobile cruises up and down the Vegas streets, showing the tourists and locals alike just how wild life is in the Den. Back at the club, things get hotter and crazier by the minute, as Jenny takes on an entire table of college boys, with a bit of help from the MILF wife of another staff member. If anything, this brings Don and Jenny closer – he loves all of her, including her sexual insatiability, and he recognizes how important that acceptance is to her.

Driving the Stripper Mobile is pure smut, with non-stop sexual action from beginning to end. It doesn’t feel cliched or exploitative, though, largely because the author’s enthusiasm shines on every page. You can tell that Mr. Archer is writing about what arouses him personally. That raises the book above your run-of-the-mill porn. I don’t usually find this sort of wall-to-wall sex all that arousing, but let me tell you, I had some amazing dreams after reading this just before bed.

I’ve given this book only three stars because the writing needs some work. Mr. Archer’s dialogue tends to be stiff and unrealistic (very few people talk in compound sentences), and there are some serious problems with head-hopping. That’s the editor in me speaking, though. I suspect that a lot of readers wouldn’t notice these flaws.

Despite these issues, I enjoyed the book. I particularly liked Mr. Archer’s portrayal of women. Jenny, Foxy, Sally, Pat and the other female characters are unapologetic when it comes to their love of sex, including sex with other women. The men don’t look down on them for being sluts – they appreciate them wholeheartedly. These guys aren’t threatened by the women, either. When they’re not participating, they enjoy watching, happy to be taken along for the ride.

Let Larry Archer take you for a ride in the Stripper Mobile. If, like me, you enjoy sex in all its variations, you won’t be sorry.
