Before Annie could respond, Nan mounted the low platform they’d set up to the right of the bar and grabbed the portable mike.

“’Evening, everyone! Welcome to the Holiday House. I’m Nan Anderson, manager of the hotel, and your mistress of ceremonies for the evening.”

Ted shot a look of confusion in Annie’s direction. She shrugged, unsure what to do.

“First of all, I want to congratulate Annie and Ted on their marriage. They make a lovely couple, don’t you think?”

The guests hooted and clapped their approval. Even Rod and Claudia broke their clinch to applaud.

“Let’s get them up here on stage. Annie? Ted? Come on, don’t be shy!”

Annie rose from her chair, taking her margarita with her. She thought she might need it. Her groom joined them, slipping his hand into hers as he stood beside her.

“How about a kiss, kids? Show everyone how you feel about each other.”

Ted wrapped his arms around Annie and briefly pressed his lips to hers. Almost before the kiss began, it was over.

“Oh, please!” Nan took possession of Annie’s drink, leaving her hands free. “Forget about the rest of us for a minute, Ted, and kiss her the way you would if you were alone.”

“Annie-belle…” Ted began, his cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

“Never mind,” Annie whispered. She grabbed him, pulling his hard body against hers, and plunged her tongue into his mouth.
