Actually, Almost Home started out based on my own experiences -- before my imagination took off and starting adding lurid details. The triggering memory was a mistletoe kiss at a party, from a guy I had a crush on in high school. Some of Suzanne's history is loosely based on my own, too (I won't tell you which parts!). And of course I wove in details from the twenty odd years I spent living in snowy New England.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy the book. You only have to wait a couple more days!
