Hello,
my name is Abbey MacMunn and I write paranormal/fantasy romance.
Today I’d like to talk about my favourite movies and the
inspiration behind Touched, my debut paranormal romance released 13th
July.
When
I’m not writing, or I’ve had a particularly stressful day (we all
have those, right?) there’s nothing I like doing more than chilling
out while watching a great movie—anything from rom-coms to sci fi
to superheroes. Give me a big bar of Cadbury’s Fruit and Nut, or
Reese’s NutRageous—which really difficult to get here in the
UK—and I’m one happy bunny.
My
favourite movies to watch? Firstly, anything with a fantasy
element—witches, vampires, magic, superpowers and I’m at the
front of the queue. One thing I insist on though is awesome CGI
(Computer Generated Imagery, for all you non-geeky folk.) What I mean
is that the special effects have to look real, totally believable. If
only for a few moments, I want to be swept up in the in magic of it
all.
Secondly,
I like a good rom-com. The Proposal is one of my favourites. The
chemistry
between Margaret and Andrew (Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds) is
fab, and the scene where they bump into each other—totally naked—is
hilarious, but for me, the star is Grandma Annie, played by the
delightful Betty White.
So,
the inspiration for Touched came from a combination of the things I
love; a paranormal romance with a dash of chick-lit. It’s about a
naïve hybrid, a super-sexy immortal guardian, a kooky, cupid-playing
witch (aka Grandma Annie) and a friend’s deadly betrayal. If you’d
like to read an excerpt, check out my website.
Thanks
for reading!
Abbey

When inquisitive antique dealer Cami Wilson learns she’s the revered offspring of an immortal mother and a mortal father, it’s not just her hybrid status that has her all flustered. The title comes with her very own super-sexy guardian.
Jaded immortal Joseph Carlisle has only one thing on his mind; his sworn duty to protect the hybrid from those who wish her harm. Anything else would be complicated. That is until they meet.
Chemistry sizzles between them but there’s a problem—the hybrid's curse. Cami’s touch, skin to skin, proves near fatal to her and all immortals, Joseph included.
But the fated lovers discover her curse is the least of their concerns when a friend's deadly betrayal threatens to tear them apart forever.
