Charity Sunday for the Earth – #CharitySunday #EarthDay #WWF #PNR

Charity Sunday Banner

Two days ago we celebrated Earth Day. Well, “celebrated” might be a bit overly optimistic. The earth and the natural environment are facing more serious threats than ever before. However, I guess we can be hopeful that perhaps people are becoming more aware and concerned about these challenges.

In observation of Earth Day, for this month’s Charity Sunday I’m supporting the World Wildlife Fund.

I’ve chosen WWF, out of the many environmental and nature charities that exist, for several reasons. First of all, although they have “wildlife” in their name, WWF recognizes the critical importance of the environment and habitat. Indeed, the condition of our planet’s wild creatures is an indicator of how well – or poorly – we are doing in our stewardship of nature. WWF takes a broad perspective and supports programs focusing on climate change, sustainable food production, ocean and river conservation and environmental education. A second motivation is the fact that although WWF is a global organization, they work locally through many country-level affiliates. I believe this is important because environmental problems always have distinct cultural, political and economic contexts. There is never a one-size-fits-all solution; instead individual communities need to engage and address their specific issues.

Anyway, for today’s event I will donate $2 to WWF for each comment I receive.

Meanwhile, I have a highly relevant excerpt from my short paranormal romance Hot Spell: Elemental Passions Book 1. This book is currently on sale for only 99 cents as part of the release bash for Book 2 of the series.

Blurb

The flames of passion are more than metaphor.

Comfortable and at home in nature, Sylvie doesn't mind being alone in the wilderness. But she's not the only being haunting the glades and the trails. The stranger she encounters bathing in the stream near her camp obviously wants her, but refuses to act on his desire. Aidan is cursed with a power he fears will destroy her if they surrender to their passion. Can Sylvie refrain from tempting him?

Excerpt

The hills, normally a brilliant emerald at this time of year, had turned a premature yellow. Sylvie gazed off to the east, imagining soaring pines and gleaming white summits. A yearning seized her—an almost physical need to be in the woods again. She smiled and brushed her unruly hair out of her eyes. Camping would be just the thing. It was barely Memorial Day. There wouldn’t be any crowds. There might even still be snow.

She bounded down the stairs to pack her gear, singing to herself. Being alone in the mountains didn’t bother her at all. In fact, it was just what she needed.

* * * *

The miles evaporated as Sylvie raced along the highway. Hot wind from the open window whipped her long hair back behind her. As the road climbed under her wheels, her spirits rose as well. She sang along with the oldies station as she drove—Satisfaction, Thunder Road, Born to Be Wild. The DJ’s playlist matched her mood. For the first time in weeks, she felt free, the burdens and worries of city life left behind her. Even the continuing heat failed to oppress her, spiked as it was with the scents of pine and wildflowers.

She reached the trailhead about five. Sunlight slanted between the towering trees like gold bars. She locked her car, then shouldered her pack and set out at a brisk pace for the campsite, about three miles up the path. She’d camped in these woods before, when she’d been in college. It seemed like a hundred years ago.

Alice and Jill had been appalled when she’d told them her plans. “Alone? In the middle of the wilderness?” Jill’s perfectly shaped eyebrows had knit in a frown. “What if something happens?”

What could happen?” she’d laughed, guessing that neither of her friends had ever taken a hike or slept under the star—or would ever consider doing so.

Wild animals! Bears. Mountain lions. Or you might fall, break a leg and be stranded. You could starve to death.”

And what about murderers or rapists?” Alice had rapped her fingernails against her desk. Her turquoise enamel matched her outfit. “You never know who you’ll meet out there in the woods.”

I’ll have my phone,” she’d reassured them, although she’d known there’d likely be no signal. “Animals are shy. They won’t bother me if I don’t bother them. And I took a self-defense course last year. Don’t worry, I’ll be fine. Anyway, you’ll know where I am. If I’m not back on Tuesday, send out the National Guard.”

She strode along the trail, swinging her arms and filling her lungs with the fragrant mountain air. Sweat pooled in her armpits and under her breasts. The weather was still unseasonably warm, but a fresh breeze played amongst the trees, hinting at the coolness to come wherever it touched her damp skin. As dusk shrouded the forest, her senses grew keener. An owl perched on an overhanging branch—she caught the yellow glint of its eyes. Some furred creature skittered through the underbrush and the mournful call of a loon reached her from the direction of Crystal Lake, miles away. A spicy hint of crushed fennel tickled her nose, triggering a pang of hunger. Sylvie smiled, remembering the chunks of salmon marinating in a Ziplock bag in her backpack. She’d brought a half bottle of wine, too, for her first dinner in the wild. Somehow, she’d felt like celebrating.

Full night had fallen by the time she reached the campsite, perched on a ridge above the steep banks of Sandman Creek. As she piled fallen branches inside the ring of blackened stones and kindled them into a merry blaze, she could hear the stream singing to itself…or maybe welcoming her back where she belonged.

Her meal was every bit as tasty and satisfying as she’d anticipated. Afterwards, she sat for what seemed like hours, her back against the rough bark of a huge spruce, tasting the residual sweetness of her wine, watching the fire burn down to a clutch of glowing embers. The cinders shone from within like some dragon’s precious cache—ruby, gold, an occasional flash of emerald. The play of light fascinated her.

Her muscles ached from the strenuous hike. Her hair was in knots and a sticky film of perspiration coated her skin. None of that mattered. Peace enfolded her, along with a profound sense of well-being. The breeze whispered to her. The creek babbled and laughed.

Water. A bath. Relaxed, lazy and sated though she was, the notion still held an irresistible appeal. Sylvie checked the remains of the fire to assure herself that there was no chance it would escape the rocks encircling it. Then she dug a towel out of her pack and headed down the forested slope to the creek.

The gurgle of water tumbling over stone grew louder as she approached. The very sound was refreshing. A few feet from the edge, she stripped off her clothes, draping them and her towel over a convenient boulder. She was about to step out of the woods when an unexpected movement caught her eye.

There was something splashing in the creek a bit downstream from where she stood—something…or someone. Sylvie shrank back into the shadow of the trees.

Directly opposite her, the stream rushed over river-polished rocks, flecked with white froth. To her right, though, it widened into a calm pool, black as the sky above. The unexpected noise came from there.

She peered into the night. All she could see at first was a round, furry mass that seemed to float upon the surface. Ripples stirred as a figure rose from the water. At the same time, the half moon climbed above the crest of the trees. Its pale rays revealed the form of a naked man.

New! Sizzling reverse harem paranormal erotic romance from @TinaDonahue - #ReverseHarem #PNR #Giveaway

Lair cover

A rogue reaper who lives by her rules. Three alpha Enforcers determined she obeys theirs.

Chantel never asked to be a reaper and she sure as hell isn’t taking the virtuous or young before their time. When it comes to dirtbags… that’s another story. Whether they’re ready or not, she has them on her radar for extermination. Rogue reaping suits her just fine.

Rydan, Kahl, and Huntir don’t see her crimes that way. As Enforcers tasked with keeping order in the para world, she’s set for reeducation in their lair. Their goal? To ensure her obedience to their commands while making her submissive to their carnal needs.

Yeah, right. They may be sexier than sin, but these bad boys won’t break her, ever. Bring on the interrogations, indoctrination, and BDSM, the more hardcore the better.

This is a battle of the sexes they’ll all win.

This is Book One in The Enforcers series and can be enjoyed independently.

Publisher’s Note: This dark, paranormal reverse harem romance is intended for adults only. It contains elements of danger, suspense, adventure, power exchange and sensual scenes. If any of these offend you, please do not purchase.

Chuckling, Kahl pinned her left wrist against the brick structure.

She clawed his stubbled cheek but her glove stopped her nails from breaking skin.

Huntir.” The bearded guy spoke to the one who looked as a lion would if it assumed human form. “Some help here.”

He imprisoned her other wrist against the wall.

She kicked at whatever she could reach.

Huntir increased his hold on her. “I could be wrong, Rydan, but I think she wants your balls.”

Rydan stroked his beard. “In time. And in the way I demand.”

They laughed.

She bristled. “Let me go, you cretins. I didn’t do anything wrong.”

No?” Doubt and amusement burned in Rydan’s dark eyes. “From what we’ve heard you’ve been a bad girl.” He wagged his finger.

If the scarf hadn’t covered her mouth, she would have bit him. “You heard wrong. The prick I took out tonight killed an entire family during a home invasion. Parents and little kids for fuck’s sake. One baby not yet walking. All for a few hundred bucks they had lying around, their real valuables in a safe he couldn’t open because he slaughtered the father before getting the combination. You call that good? You consider that right? You believe that’s sane? Who in the hell is going to miss him? Not his next victims, that’s for sure. Did you want their blood on your hands?”

A muscle in his jaw twitched.

Not from anger. Something else. Curious as to what, she gazed deep into his eyes, a test she performed on those she reaped, determining whether they were decent or vile in their deepest core.

A faint spark burned within Rydan, signifying honor or integrity or whatever humans called the trait.

Hope surged. Despite Kahl and Huntir holding her arms, she leaned toward Rydan. “You know I’m right. I can see it on your face. Let me go.” She twisted her wrists. The others held tight. “The powers-that-be will never know. You have other paras to cow. Let me do my thing. I’m simply ridding the world of assholes who shouldn’t be here in the first place. Who decided they had a right to live while others had to die for their greed and amusement?”

Kahl cleared his throat. Embarrassment flickered in his brown eyes, a righteous spark in them too. The same for Huntir. Both as worthy as Rydan…if they allowed their good sides to come out.

You guys know I’m right.” She used her most melodic tone, her pitch soothing and cajoling, similar to the Sirens’ voices from Greek mythology. Another reaper talent to make her job easier, other than having to take good people before their time. “You can’t deny it.”

Rydan’s features went slack, longing and wonder building in his gaze.

The same for Huntir and Kahl.

This was so easy it should have been a crime for her to do it. “Come on.” She upped her charm. “Let me—”

That’s not how this works.” Rydan’s weak moment hardened to indifference. “You’re well aware of that, Chantel.”

His and the others effortless resistance to her voice shouldn’t have surprised her. Them already knowing her name certainly didn’t. Most likely, they had her lengthy file detailing each rogue reaping.

Even so, she played dumb. “Who? I’m Dike.”

Rydan threw back his head and laughed, the sound rich and thrilling.
That’s not what I heard.” He inched closer, their boots touching. “Considering the many guys who’ve been balls deep in you, you’re now telling us you’re a lesbian?”

Dike with an i not a y.” Men. “She’s the Greek goddess representing justice.”

No shit? Guess I’ll have to remember that when my next assignment lies as much as you do.”

For. A. Good. Freaking. Cause.”

Your words and misguided belief. Not ours. Let’s see what we have here.” He unwound her scarf. Her waist-length hair spilled out.

Kahl sucked in a breath. Huntir touched the fiery red tresses.

Rydan stared, lust flooding his face.

If it came to sleeping with them to beat this charge, she’d do so, more willingly than she wanted to admit. However, playing into their hands too soon wasn’t wise. “Do not touch me. Anywhere.”

Never trust a demon ... #PNR #ReverseHarem #Giveaway @tinadonahue

Hard Lust covers

Tina Donahue’s latest, a sizzling paranormal reverse harem tale, releases today!

Blurb

Don't ever trust a demon. Unfortunately, Megan has learned that lesson too late. The deal she made to save her sister's life––has landed her in hell temporarily and about seventy years early. And now she has three sexy demons trying to tell her what to do.

Nope. Not going to happen.

These guys have never had to deal with such defiance. Andros figures she's due for some erotic discipline, which he'll happily provide. Racan's pure alpha, his hardcore plans include bondage and submission. Quiet yet intense, Vespar expects endless kink to spice up their carnal play.

Who would have ever expected she'd end up falling for them? Too bad demons can't be trusted...because someone is trying to kill the magic and threatening her stay in this lusty world.

Excerpt

Even during her worst days, Megan Wynters never believed this would happen.

I am so screwed.

Afraid to budge, she stood paralyzed in a garish room decorated in more gold and mirrors than Versailles, a weird symbol she couldn’t decipher painted on bloodred walls. Displayed throughout the cavernous space were countless marble statues depicting nude men and women screwing or going down on each other. Thunderous bass from a death-metal tune pounded through the wall to her left, the pornographic paintings hanging there bouncing on each deafening beat.

She curled her upper lip, turned, and flinched.

A guy who hadn’t been in here a second before, sat in the throne-like chair behind the humongous desk. Early thirties or so, he had hazel eyes and thick blond hair that fell in soft waves to his shoulders. Those suckers and his chest were beyond broad, his well-toned muscles straining against his black silk shirt.

Her stomach fluttered at the astounding picture he created, and then her insides clenched when she recalled where she was.

That didn’t keep her from eyeing him further.

The sun, or a tanning lamp, had tinted his complexion gold, while his features––not only were they masculine, but beautiful enough for an angel.

Down here? In fucking Hell?

Given his great looks, she had to be anywhere but there. Her pulse ticked up. Hope surged.

Someone moaned.

The statue to her right was climaxing. Jeezus. The writhing life-sized figures weren’t stone but people, or demons, or something animate. The pure-white woman threw back her head and wailed. The pasty guy kept pumping his cock into her.

God, God, God. This definitely wasn’t Heaven. But not quite the other place, either, considering the cool air circulating, causing goose bumps to rise on her arms.

Rattled and wary, she faced the guy.

He regarded her mouth and then met her eyes, his searching and engaged.

Unexpected heat rushed through her, her folds creaming at his inviting response, appreciation for his raw male appeal stealing her breath and—

Hold it. She couldn’t be turned on by him. It’s a trick. He’s fucking doing this to me because he’s…

Uncertain what he was, she cringed at the possibilities but still couldn’t glance away.

He stroked an onyx ring on his left forefinger that boasted a dark red symbol—the same as those on the walls—against a black circle.

Which means? Her stomach rolled and wouldn’t stop. She didn’t want an explanation on what the marking signified. It might murder her dream that this wouldn’t turn out too bad.

Already his silence was killing her. Say something. That was definitely preferable to him doing any other fucking thing.

He smiled, producing deep dimples in his cheeks.

Her knees weakened at his normal, friendly greeting. The way a mortal guy might show delight at seeing her, and that maybe this could lead to something good. Conversation, a few laughs, then other great stuff. If he behaved nicely, she wouldn’t mind. Damn, she hadn’t had fun in forever.

Another statue climaxed.

Holy hell. Snapped back to reality, she remembered her presence here was a colossal blunder she had to straighten out. Her mouth was so dry she struggled to speak. “I don’t know who you are, but—”

Andros.” His smooth baritone caressed and enticed. “And you’re Megan.”

She wasn’t admitting to anything.

He glanced at his computer screen. “You waitressed at Sally Jean’s before coming here.” He grinned, making new dimples. “We’ve been waiting for you.”

LGBTQ Sizzling Sunday: The Witches of Gloucester #LGBTQ #lesbian #SizzlingSunday

Sizzling Sunday Banner

I realized yesterday that we’re nearly half way through Pride Month, and I’ve barely celebrated. As a first step toward remedying this oversight, here’s a sexy snippet from my lesbian paranormal romance The Witches of Gloucester. This excerpt isn’t as explicit as some of my Sizzling Sunday posts, but it sets the scene for what follows.

Its not about power. Its about love.

The historic port of Gloucester, Massachusetts has a special charm, due at least in part to its resident witches. For decades, raven-maned Marguerite and red-headed Beryl have lived among its hard-working inhabitants, making magic and mischief. Love and sex fuel their supernatural abilities, but duality limits their power. To reach their full potential, they need a third witch to complete their circle.

Rejected as a nymphomaniac by her puritanical boyfriend, Emmeline escapes to Gloucester to work on her PhD thesis. From the moment she arrives, Marguerite and Beryl sense her erotic vitality and unrecognized paranormal talent. The platinum-haired beauty may well be the enchantress they have been awaiting for so long. Now they need to show Em that her prodigious libido is a gift, not a liability, and to persuade her that her destiny lies in the sea-girt town they guard, and in their arms.

SPECIAL BONUS: Also includes "Late Show", a contemporary FF erotic romance tale about second chances.

Excerpt

It didn’t take long – it never did – before they convulsed in a shared climax. The sun brightened for an instant. The scent of roses grew thick and heady. As their breathing slowed and they fell backwards on the bed to let the air cool their sweat-streaked skin, the wild cry of a gull floated in on the salt-tinged breeze.

Fingertips brushing, they lay together in companionable silence. Marguerite recovered first.

There’s a new girl in town.”

I know.” Beryl stretched her white arms over her head, to their maximum extent, then pulled herself up into a sit, legs crossed Indian style. A rich fragrance of pussy rose from between her parted thighs. “She stopped at the store yesterday, looking for titles about colonial-period Salem.”

I’m sure you were very helpful.” Rolling onto her side and propping her chin up on her palm, Marguerite grinned at her redheaded partner.

I didn’t dare get close. She was broadcasting sexual energy in every direction – pulsing like some hunk of radioactive matter. I swear, I nearly came, standing twenty feet away. Amazing!”

Yes – I’ve been aware of her aura for the last few days. But I haven’t actually seen her.”

Beryl leaned forward for a quick kiss. Marguerite fought the urge to pull that pale, compact body down on top of her own. Not that Beryl would mind, of course. In fact, the little ginger cat took advantage of their closeness to tweak one of Marguerite’s still throbbing nipples, before pulling back.

You’ll appreciate her,” Beryl added. “She’s just your type.”

You mean, loud and bratty, like you?” Marguerite dodged Beryl’s flying fist. “No, seriously – what’s she like?”

Young. Ethereal. Full of light. Wait, I’ll show you.” The witch padded on bare feet over to the wooden sea chest across the room to pull out a length of navy blue cloth printed with yellow-gold stars. She spread it over the braided rug that took up most of the floor. “Come. Sit with me.”

While Marguerite settled herself cross-legged upon the starry throw, Beryl retrieved a half-melted sapphire-blue candle from a shelf above the bed. She arranged it upon the cloth between them, then passed her cupped palm over the charred wick. “Illumine,” she declaimed.

The candle spontaneously ignited. At the same time, the afternoon dimmed. Sudden dusk descended. The blue-edged flame glowed, but did not dispel the gathered shadows.

Look into the fire,” Beryl instructed.

Marguerite tended to use crystals or mirrors for divination. It took a few moments for her to discern the forms moving in the flickering brightness. As she focused her attention, the image grew more distinct.

A diminutive young woman even paler than Beryl sat reading at an old dinette table. Straight silver-blond hair cascaded down her back, almost to her waist. Her black tank top showed off a surprisingly deep cleavage for someone with such a petite frame, while her brief shorts clung to what looked like a heart-shaped ass.

Concentration knotted her eyebrows. Her rosy lips were pursed into a moue of dissatisfaction. She appeared to be struggling to comprehend the material. Or perhaps she was just restless. After a few moments, she snapped her book closed, rose from her chair and wandered over to peer out at the forest of masts visible through the open door. Her movements were like willow branches in the wind. Her hair shimmered in the sun, a platinum river. Marguerite’s theory about the woman’s ass was confirmed.

She’s amazing! Do you think...?”

It’s possible,” Beryl replied to the unspoken question. “But how can we draw her to us? You know the rules. We can’t use magic to bind her. She must come to us of her own free will.”

We’ll just go introduce ourselves. Like good neighbors.”

Ask to borrow a cup of sugar?” Beryl chuckled as she leant over the candle to brush an ebony curl out of her lover’s eyes.

Something like that.” Marguerite stared once more into the heart of the fire, at the slender form leaning against the door frame, gazing into the distance. “She looks lonely.”

Based on the vibes I picked up in the book shop, I’d say she’s horny.”

Marguerite released an uncharacteristically girlish giggle. “We may be able to help her with that problem.”
