They’d buy her, free her, and persuade her to have werewolf babies - #Paranormal #Werewolves #Spanking #Post-apocalyptic @KryssieFortune

Taken as Theirs cover

Blurb

As a breeder - one of the few fertile women left in a ruined, plague-ravaged world - Cassie would fetch a handsome price at auction, and selling her to the highest bidder was exactly what her captors had in mind... until two fearsome beasts decided to take her for themselves.

Eli and Dane have chosen Cassie for their mate, and when she makes a foolish attempt at escape she quickly ends up tearfully promising obedience as her bare bottom is soundly and shamefully punished. Her body's response to their stern dominance cannot be denied, however, and it isn't long before she is screaming out her intense, helpless pleasure as she is roughly and thoroughly claimed. But will Eli and Dane's pack accept a human girl or will Cassie be an outsider forever?

A tic started in Dane’s jaw. When he took a deliberate step toward her, Cassie panicked and ran for the door. Grabbing her around the waist, Eli dragged her toward the bed. He perched on the edge and pulled her over his knee. “A bare bottom spanking should remind you not to put yourself at risk.”

She hung, head down, feet kicking as she tried to break free. Eli planted his huge hand in the small of her back and pinned her in place. His touch felt like a warm caress that leached the fight out of her.

When he stroked his free hand over her bottom, her cunny dampened. His voice turned raspy and hoarse, as though he struggled to speak. “When I’m done, Dane will punish you for making him dive into that swell. Those waves could have battered you against the barge or washed you away. Your actions were inexcusable, whatever your motives.”

He shoved the baggy jumper he’d loaned her up around her waist, baring her bottom.

Hissing in a breath, she kicked and struggled, desperate to escape his grip. He tangled his legs through hers and stroked her bare bottom. “Stay still, princess, or I’ll double your punishment.”

Cassie’s head-down, bottom-up position made her feel defenseless and weak. No one, not even her parents, had ever laid a hand on her. Even in human form, werewolves were super strong with enough stamina to keep them going for days. Hell, if he hit her too hard, he could shatter her spine. She’d been an idiot to think these dominant males had a kindly side.

Cassie lifted her head and tried to catch Dane’s eye. For all his stern exterior, he could stop Eli from spanking her—she hoped. “Please don’t do this. I’m sorry. I was stupid, okay? Isn’t it enough that the pair of you scared me half to death yesterday when you busted me out that castle? Now you’re going to beat me for trying to get away from killer werewolves. I’m begging you. Let me up, please.”

Dane surprised her by crouching beside her and smoothing her curls back from her face. He gathered her wrists in one hand and stared into her eyes. “We’re sorry we scared you when we sprang you from the vampires. Not that you gave us much choice. I’m going to stay beside you while Eli spanks you. Keep your eyes on me.”

She’d thought Dane was the stern one who’d do anything to get what he wanted. The way he reassured her helped, but she still wriggled and kicked to get free.

Destined to be Lycan mates - #pnr #shapeshifters #giveaway @Kristal081670

Blurb

From the first, Michael Faolan and Natalie Terrence knew they were destined to be Lycan mates, but constant danger in Michael's life keeps them separated. They are stalked by the hunters, a group of men who plan to eradicate all Lycan as vermin. Natalie refuses to acknowledge the bond that she has with Michael until hunters burn down his barn and he is gravely injured. She cannot resist his call, even with the threat hanging over his head. Michael Faolan has secrets of his own, but he is happy to accept Natalie's ministrations. Their attraction ignites into flames of passion as they continue to fight the hunters. Could his secrets dampen the hunger Natalie feels for her mate, or can they use that desire to build a family and forge a love so strong no man, woman, or beast can tear them apart?

Excerpt

Pale moonlight descended over Heather Ridge, adding a menacing air to its aged appearance. Her eyes slowly lifted to the second-floor windows as she thought of Michael. He dominated her every moment and had secretly become her own private obsession. She felt his eyes. She sensed his presence. Silver orbs gazed back from the dingy, dark windows. Her hand involuntarily came up to rub the base of her throat. She couldn’t look away, spellbound in the moment. Her feet refused to move. It felt like forever passed when the outline of his body finally turned away from the window.

Natalie’s nervous laugh broke the eerie silence of the twilight. The porch light turned on at that exact moment, and she jumped. Her breath caught in her lungs and she doubled over gasping for air. She chided herself for being afraid and shook her head. She was Lycan, a predator, and she belonged in the night, but the wind refused to support her confidence as it moaned through the forest.

Natalie shivered and rubbed her arms as gray fog leaked from the forest. It swirled around the corners of the house just as her feet climbed to the top of the limestone steps. She stopped only for a moment and watched with wide eyes as it creeped slowly up the steps behind her. With her back against the front door, she turned the door knob. The front door creaked as she pushed it open then slammed shut with a loud bang.

Review Tuesday: Wolf Creek by Nikko Lee

Wolf Creek by Nikko Lee
Prizm Books, 2015

For three generations, the powerful Silverbane pack of werewolves has governed the town of Wolf Creek, protecting the vast forests that surround the settlement and guarding against incursions by other creatures tainted with evil. Respected alpha Eric Silverbane has taught his family members to subdue their inner beasts in order to maintain a truce with the Amazons, fierce nature goddesses who would otherwise have eradicated the wolves. The family has grown and prospered during these peaceful years. Then Eric’s sudden death shatters the harmony within the pack, as various members vie for control.

Twenty year old Josh wants nothing more than to escape from Wolf Creek. The lowest of the low, an omega who can’t even shift unless commanded by an alpha, he endures ridicule and abuse at the hands of the other pack members. Only Eric has ever treated him with kindness. With Eric gone, Josh’s situation becomes even more precarious, but he cannot leave. It is the responsibility and the destiny of the omega wolf to identify the individual who should become the next alpha.

Josh’s struggle to accept and fulfill this critical role lies at the core of Nikko Lee’s satisfying new novel Wolf Creek. Ms. Lee vividly conveys Josh’s sense of alienation, not to mention his legitimate fears for his own safety. Josh has internalized the negativity constantly beamed in his direction. He sees himself as weak, helpless, bumbling and cowardly, a city-leaning boy in a family of rugged outdoorsmen, a thinker surrounded by energetic doers. His sexual identification as gay makes him even more of an outcast in the pack.

Initially Josh does not recognize his strengths: his quick mind; his unique skills as a negotiator; his empathic powers; his honesty, decency and sense of responsibility to a family who has for the most part rejected him. The quest to find the next alpha, however, brings out the best in him. With the help of Andrea, a young Amazon who’s as much of an outcast as he is, Josh engages in a desperate race against time to find a werewolf who can assume Silverbane’s mantle and prevent Josh’s power-corrupted cousin Bryce from shattering the truce.

Ms. Lee has created a convincing and engaging world for her paranormal creatures, complete with culture, history, and rituals. Her werewolves aren’t that much different from humans, so the occasional flashes of supernatural power feel all the more exciting. For instance, Josh literally cannot disobey an alpha’s direct command. At the same time, he’s an expert at forestalling such commands, using words to subtly manipulate wolves with higher status and greater power.

I had some problems relating to Andrea. Her mercurial personality didn’t make much sense to me, and her tendency to treat everything as a joke made her seem much younger than Josh, though in fact she’s supposed to be twenty four. The relationship between Andrea and Gavin, the hunky park ranger, also puzzled me. I found it a bit implausible that someone as serious as Gavin would find Andrea attractive.

Most of the book takes Josh’s point of view. This is highly effective. It allows the reader to really feel the young omega’s despondency and desperation. There are a few sections, however, where we see the world through Andrea’s eyes, and one or two scenes narrated from the perspective of the villainous Bryce. Personally, I felt that these shifts in point of view weakened the novel. I understand the role these scenes play in propelling the plot forward, but I wish that Ms. Lee could have found a way to handle this while still remaining inside Josh’s head.

Overall, though, Wolf Creek is absorbing and enjoyable. Strangely, Amazon categorizes the book as “romance”. This is, in my opinion, a mislabeling. The book does not focus primarily on a romantic relationship, and indeed (spoiler alert) Josh does not find a sexual partner by the end of the book. Wolf Creek is really a coming of age story. Josh acquires self-knowledge, self-confidence, a greater degree of self-acceptance, and finally, some sense of belonging.

This is a different sort of happy ending. And I must admit that Wolf Creek did leave me with good feelings.

The Inspiration for Sated

By Lucy Felthouse (Guest Blogger)

When I saw the call for submissions that Totally Bound Publishing put out for their Wild After Dark anthology, I knew I had to give it a go. Paranormal ménage... what could be better? The next thing to do, of course, was to come up with an idea. In short stories, one thing I often struggle with is getting my characters into the required situation in such a short space of time, while at the same time keeping it plausible and not rushed. So, how did I get three characters into bed together, having smokin’ hot sex, within the required word count?

Soon—my brain provided the much-needed inspiration. I’d have a human, a vampire and a werewolf in my tale, and the human woman would be dating the vampire. The werewolf would come along later. Once I’d got that far, the human woman, a gorgeous Indian chick called Aneesa started talking to me. And damn, was she sassy. And horny. Luckily for me, she was a big fan of sex—most especially with her vampire boyfriend, Ace—and the two of them were rapidly checking items off Aneesa’s sexual bucket list. One item, though, remained untouched... until now.

Aneesa wanted to have a threesome....

I don’t want to say any more because I’ll give the game away, but let’s just say Sated is fun, sexy, and also dark in places. I really enjoyed writing this naughty paranormal tale, and am delighted that it was accepted for publication, and that, so far, people seem to be enjoying it!

Happy Reading,
Lucy x

Blurb

A human, a vampire and a werewolf walked into a bar. Sexy is what happens next.

Since getting together with her vampire boyfriend, Ace, Aneesa is enjoying a sex life she could never have with a human. Ace has skill, strength, stamina…and is massively adventurous.

Aneesa is checking things off her sexual bucket list at a rate of knots. However, she hasn’t even come close to experiencing the ultimate item on her list. So when Ace beats her to it, proposing a threesome with his werewolf friend, Barton, Aneesa’s definitely up for it.

Barton is attractive, smart and sexy—almost too good to be true, in fact. Aneesa decides not to jump straight into things, but makes sure it’s what she truly wants. However, it turns out Barton’s not so easily dissuaded.

Will Aneesa get the ultimate erotic experience she’s desired for so long? Will she be truly sated, or is the plan doomed to failure?

Excerpt

Pausing, then pulling me closer, Ace pointed across the room. The bar itself was L-shaped. We were parallel to the longer side, and just past the corner was the man that Ace was indicating. “That’s Barton. And I have never known that guy to be early for anything. Ever. Seems he’s just as eager as you.” He chuckled, then pressed a kiss to my hair.

A thrill shot through me—and not just from Ace’s proximity and that sexy chuckle. Even from a distance, I could see that Barton was gorgeous. He was the opposite to Ace in several ways—dark where Ace was fair, beefy where Ace was lithe, and yet he still pushed all my buttons. Visually, at least. It took much more than just looks for a man to float my boat, so I figured it was time to stop gawping and get over there and meet him.

I shrugged, despite knowing that Ace would see right through my feigned indifference. “Maybe he’s changed, Ace. People do that, you know. Come on, let’s get over there before we end up being late.”

Wisely, Ace chose to keep quiet and continued to hold my hand as we approached Barton. Not in a possessive fashion, but more of an I’m-here-babe-you’re-safe kind of way.

Barton swiveled on his barstool as we grew closer, then hopped off it, his hand held out. He gave me a quick smile before greeting Ace. “Ace, mate! How’s it going?” They shook hands, clapped each other on the shoulder, then broke apart.

Immediately, Barton turned to me. “Hey, Aneesa, I’m Barton. It’s great to meet you.” I shook his hand, enjoying the strength and warmth that he emitted. I noted how he was checking me out—in more of a curious than lusty way. I guessed he was trying to be respectful.

I gave a genuine smile. He was just as cute close up as he’d been from across the room. “It’s great to meet you too, Barton…” I tried not to cringe as I tailed off—it was obvious that I’d been about to say something else, but had decided against it. Mainly because the only two options my brain had supplied were ‘I look forward to getting to know you better’ and ‘Ace has told me so much about you.’

The first was cheesy beyond belief and, considering the reasoning behind our meeting, laden with innuendo. If I’d let that phrase come out of my mouth, I think I’d have died of embarrassment on the spot.

The second was simply not true, which is why I hadn’t said it. Until the whole threesome thing had come about, I couldn’t remember Ace ever mentioning Barton. And the questions I’d asked Ace since then didn’t really count as Ace telling me lots about him.

And so the awkward silence hung in the air for several seconds, before Barton recovered. Smiling, he said, “Can I get you a drink, guys? Aneesa?”

Um, yes please,” I replied, regaining the ability to speak. A double vodka and Coke would have gone down a treat right then, but Ace and I had already agreed we were going to stay sober for this meeting—we needed clear heads to make decisions and to ensure that whatever happened next was influenced only by us, not by alcohol. “I’ll just have a Coke, please.”

Of course. Ace?”

The same, please.”

With a quick nod, Barton turned back to the bar and attempted to get the attention of a member of staff. I took the opportunity to study Barton in greater detail without him knowing. Quite honestly, I really enjoyed what I saw. He was a tad taller than Ace, making him maybe three inches over six feet. Tightbut not obscenely sojeans covered what looked like a very grabbable, bitable backside and thick thighs that were in perfect proportion with the rest of him. A narrow waist flared out to wide shoulders, encased in a short-sleeved T-shirt which showed off his physique. His arms, of course, were muscular, and looked as though even if he hadnt been a werewolf, that he could throw me around in the bedroom. Mmm
