(One's a paranormal ménage featuring a werewolf and a vampire, the other a tale of an author selling her soul to the devil!) Anyway, I couldn't let my favorite holiday go by without some sort of celebration, so I've re-edited my tribute to H.P. Lovecraft, created a new cover, and released it for free.

As for other releases, the summer was pretty quiet, partly because I was on the road about one week out of every four. Since my last newsletter, I've been to the U.S., to Austria and the Czech Republic, to Sri Lanka, to Thailand, and to China –-- twice! It has all been for business, alas. No sooner do I unpack from one trip than I have to pack for the next. Makes it tough to devote any concentrated time to writing.

However, since my last update, I do have two stories out in recent charitable anthologies.

In response to the anti-gay massacre at the Pulse club last June, MLR Press has published an anthology entitled Hope for Pulse: Hate Will Never Win. I was proud to contribute an expanded and re-edited version of my F/F erotic romance "The Late Show". All proceeds from this amazing book will go to Equality Florida, an organization working to support the victims of the Pulse shooting.

Also, you'll find my brand new spicy M/F romance "Test Drive" in Leigh Ellwood's anthology Coming Together: On Wheels. Sales of this collection benefit the United Nations High Commission on Refugees (UNHCR). Given what we see in the news these days, one could hardly find a more relevant charity. You can read a quick excerpt here.

Speaking of charities, editor Ashley Lister has selected several of my poems for the second volume of Coming Together: In Verse, which should be out in November. The In Verse series is dedicated to the animal welfare organization Hope for Paws.

Free Reading and Other News 

This month you'll find two new free stories on my free reading page. My quickie Caritas looks at the dangers of first impressions. Stroke is one of my favorite BDSM stories, which demonstrates my tag line – imagination is the ultimate aphrodisiac. As is normal for me, both are pretty hot!

I've been spending quite a bit of time on Twitter these days, trying (like everyone else) to get people to pay attention to me and my work. To be honest, it's pretty frustrating. I'm fairly clueless when it comes to marketing. I'm an author, not a PR guru. If only my books would sell themselves...but that's every author's (hopeless?) dream.

New and Upcoming Releases


My biggest news is the release of The Gazillionaire and the Virgin. I think I hit the sweet spot with this BDSM erotic romance. It's getting some amazing reviews. Check out the one from Lola White, or Kayla Lords. Or I can just quote my long time fan Gary The Bear: "WOW!!! I was hard all through it!". Lots of favorable comments on Amazon, too.

G&V is on sale for 99 cents until the 26th of March, wherever you like to buy your books. So if you're inclined to to snag yourself a copy, now's the time. It's available in print, too, if you're old-fashioned like me.


Meanwhile the new, expanded version of Raw Silk is available now at all bookstores. New reviews are rolling in for that novel, too, like this one from Sultry Steam Reading, or this one from Wicked Reads. Thank you!

You can get Incognito on early download now at Totally Bound, with general release scheduled for April 12th. Both books have brand new new chapters and gorgeous new covers.
Later this spring, I've got a short story in Leigh Ellwood's upcoming charitable anthology, Coming Together: On Wheels. All proceeds with benefit UNHCR, the United Nations agency that works with refugees. Leigh could hardly have chosen a more relevant charity.

Free Reading and Other News
 
I've added two new stories to my free reading page. My quickie Handcuffs and Hearts is a Valentine's Day story featuring Theo and Rachel, the main characters from The Gazillionaire and the Virgin. Red Eye is a steamy taboo tale about the limits of romance. They're both X-rated.

Actually, I've been thinking I should try to write a sweet romance. That would be a new challenge! I actually have a plot, characters and setting in mind. I want to write a historical romance set during the late thirties, in the golden days of Hollywood. No sex, nothing beyond steamy kisses. Would any of my readers buy that, though?

In fact, my head is reeling as I try to figure out what project to work on next. I have a notebook full of story ideas, but the success of G&V has me considering new directions. Maybe I should do a series that focuses on breaking romance rules! The next one will be titled The Werewolf and the Vampire– -- and the characters won't be at all what you expect!

Happy Holidays to all my readers and friends! It's been a while since I've done a newsletter. Now I have lots of stuff to share.

New and Upcoming Releases

I have a couple of new titles out since I last updated my news. Just before Halloween, I released Coming in Costume, a collection of three linked erotic romance stories featuring the same characters: submissive Isabella, her husband and master Greg, and Greg's best friend James. The title story is a Halloween role-playing tale set in the famous Museum of Natural History in New York City. For the winter holidays, I've penned another, longer tale about this trio, entitled A Contract for Christmas. You can find blurbs and excerpts for both over at my Books page.
I've also contributed to a couple of recent Coming Together projects. You can find my story Snow Bound in Coming Together: Strange Shifters
, edited by Lynn Townsend. I'm in the middle of reading this book now–it's fantastic!. Also three of my poems appear in Ashley Lister's new collection Coming Together: In Verse. The former volume benefits Bat World Sanctuary, the latter Hope for Paws. If you're animal lover, pick up one or both of these great collections.
I've finished editing and writing new material for the grand re-release of my first two novels by Totally Bound. Both Raw Silk and Incognito have new chapters and gorgeous new covers. They'll be release early in 2016.
Finally, I'm down to the wire on The Gazillionaire and the Virgin. I have to finish it by the end of 2015 in order to meet my scheduled release date. I've been working with the wonderful Willsin Rowe on the cover, but it's not final yet so I can't share it. Stay tuned!

Free Reading and Other News

I've added new full length story to my free reading section, an erotic romance treatment of a favorite fairy tale entitled Shorn. I also added a new poem, To Kathy. Well, it's not really new–it dates from 1977–but it's unusual in that it captures an early attraction to another woman.

I've been busy on Twitter, trying to get the word out about what I am up to. I am still not sure how effective a channel this is, but I do know that my average number of blog hits has almost doubled. So I guess it's worth something!

Oh dear! I haven't done a new newsletter since June! I've been really busy with non-writing business issues, doing a lot of traveling for my real world job. Of course that's no reason to neglect you, is it?

I've had relatively little time to write over the past few months. Of course, given all my releases in May, I suppose I've earned a bit of a breather. In any case, this month saw the release of my science fiction erotica short The Antidote. Warning: this is not one of my softer, more romantic works. It's quite graphic, but has a message too.

In terms of upcoming releases, I have a story in Lynn Townsend's altruistic erotica collection Coming Together: Strange Shifters, which is scheduled for release around Halloween. And speaking of Halloween, I'm working on a brand new tale to celebrate, an erotic horror piece entitled Reanimated. Stay tuned for more information.

I've been busy editing and expanding my first two novels, Raw Silk and Incognito, for re-release by Totally Bound. Each will have at least one full new chapter added. Plus I get the chance to fix those nasty errors that creep into every book, especially when you're a novice writer. It's fun, but also a rather emotional experience to revisit these early tales.

I'm also continuing to work on my BDSM erotic romance novel The Gazillionaire and the Virgin. I have a tentative publication date of January, 2016. I don't know whether I'm going to make that or not.

Free Reading and Other News

Since I haven't done an update in a couple of months, I've added a lot of new material to my website. In the free reading section, you'll find my historical BDSM tale Communion. This is one of the first short stories I ever wrote. It captures the spirtual dimension of dominance and submission that so fascinates me.

For those of you who like poetry, I've also added a new poem called Hookup, in the tanka form. It's short but intense.

I've also added two new craft articles to my For Authors section, one about story structure and another about various approaches to writing a novel. Hopefully some of my author colleagues will find them useful.

One bit of news: I've signed up for a Twitter account. I am still trying to figure out how to make the most of this social media channel. I'm also not sure how to get readers to follow me! I have one hundred fifty followers already, but I think every single one is a fellow writer!

Welcome to my June Newsletter! I'm getting it out early this month, partly because I have so much to share.

New and Upcoming Releases
 
I think that May was a record for me. Four releases in one month! I'm not sure where to start in telling you about them.

Her Own Devices is now available from LadyLit Publishing. This volume collects nine of my favorite F/F and lesbian short stories, including several not previously published. I'm not sure whether to call these tales erotica or erotic romance. Most have happy endings, and all focus as much on the emotional connections between the characters as the physical ones.
 
Fourth World, my new paranormal collection from Excessica is a different sort of beast altogether (and I use the word "beast" deliberately). This collection serves up seven morsels of dark, intense erotica&emdash;stories of monsters, myths and magic. The book includes two brand new stories, Naked in Varanasi and Renfield's Lament. The former is an unusual take on the succubus theme. The latter is told from the perspective of the vampires' loyal minion.
 

Fireborn Publishing has released my scifi romance short story The Last Amanuensis, a poetic and moving meditation on love and freedom. It's only 99 cents. Why not pick up a copy? And speaking of Fireborn, I don't think I mentioned that they've released Nasty Business in print.

Last, but hardly least, the altruistic anthology Coming Together: Outside the Box has hit the virtual shelves. Edited by the creative and outrageous Nobilis Reed, this collection includes my M/M cross-dressing story "To Boldly Go". You can read an excerpt of this light-hearted and sexy tale here.





Free Reading and Other News

In the free reading section of my website, I've just added a link to "Muse", an intense BDSM erotic romance story. Definitely an HEA (as long as you don't mind the kink!). This story, which was originally published in D.L. King's anthology Slave Girls, features a heroine who's an erotic romance author, and an most unlikely dominant. Check it out!

My trip to the UK was fantastic. I had an amazing time at Smut by the Sea, meeting authors and fans. I read an excerpt from Rajasthani Moon in the "smut slam" and just barely escaped a paddling from going over my five minutes of allocated time. I participated in workshops about writing historical stories, imagining werewolves, and letting your characters talk dirty. After the event proper, my DH and I got the chance to hang out in the classic Black Lion pub with Victoria and Kev Blisse, the founders of Smut UK and organizer of the event. (By the way, if you're in the UK, you should check out that link. There are several more exciting smut events coming up in the next few months!).

And Scarborough was lovely, though a bit faded from its former glory. Given my affinity for all things Victorian, I could easily imagine ladies in long gowns and smartly-dressed gentlemen taking tea in the grand hotels, strolling through the gardens or waiting for tramway to take them down to the shore.

We stayed in a cozy guesthouse with an incredible view of the ocean, just a few minutes walk from where the ruins of the eight-hundred-year-old Scarborough Castle perch on the headlands above the town. The photo above was taken from just in front of our hotel. Amazing!

So I have two releases since my last newsletter, and two more coming up within the next two weeks.

The Eyes of Bast, available now from Totally Bound, is a shifter romance with a twist. Meanwhile I have two very different short story collections, both in the 30K word range, coming in the next two weeks. Her Own Devices contains nine succulent and sensitive tales of love and lust between women. (Read an excerpt from one of the stories here.) I don't have the final cover yet, but I am expecting it any day.

I've also put together a collection of dark paranormal erotica entitled Fourth World: Erotic tales of monsters, myths and magic. Two of the seven stories in this book are previously unpublished. Warning: none of the stories in this book has an unambiguously happy ending. What they do have is heat and emotional intensity -- in excess.

I should also mention that The Gonzo Collection by Daddy X (and edited by me) is available now in ebook and print at all the usual spots.

These edgy stories will not be to everyone's taste, but personally I love Daddy's fresh voice and wild imagination.

Since I've left you unattended for so long, I've added a long, lusciously romantic story to my free stories page. Goldberg Variations is a tale about family, music, sex, and sharing. Check it out. And while you're there, sample some of the other offerings you'll find on free reading page. They are all neatly categorized and range from transgressive and intense erotica to almost sweet romance.

I started working on the The Gazillionaire and the Virgin, but then I got distracted by a new story about a trio of lesbian witches, set in Gloucester, Mass. I think the witches are going to make me finish their tale befor I can return to my high-powered Silicon Valley executive and her (yes, her) brilliant but virginal swain.

I found my apartment door locked. Had Tom not returned yet? The studio was dark, all the lights out and the blinds drawn as I'd left them. “Tom?” My voice was hoarse with fear. She found him. She's caught him.

A man-shaped shadow rose from the chair near the window. “Shaina! Thank the gods you're safe!” In an instant, I was wrapped in his strong arms, with his face buried in my hair. Peace and comfort flooded in, washing away my worry and uncertainty. This was where I belonged.

Unerring even in the darkness, his lips found mine. I opened automatically, drinking in his sweet, wild flavor. He smelled of smoke and earth, crisp nights and growing things. The tension that had sustained me through my encounter with the sorceress vanished, so that for a moment I felt limp and weak. Taking advantage of my lassitude, he drew me closer, the rigid bulk in his trousers rooting in the gap between my thighs and making me gasp. As he boldly probed my mouth, his hands roamed over my curves to my ass and pulled me tighter still.

Fierce need swept through me like a forest fire. I threaded my fingers into his wiry curls and took over the kiss, sucking his tongue into my mouth, gnawing on his lips, devouring him. With a growl, he sank his fingernails into my butt – I could feel the bite even through my jeans - and ground his erection against me. The friction kindled sparks in my swollen clit. They shot through me, lighting up my body like fireworks.

His muscles shifted like bands of steel under his shirt, under my hands. My fingers itched to feel his nakedness. At the same time, I was unwilling to release my hold on him so that we could get undressed. Desperate with desire, clutching and writhing, we rocked against one another like boats caught in a storm.

“Now,” he groaned into my mouth. “I want you now!” We managed to separate long enough to tear off our clothes. Tom seized me around the waist and dragged me to the floor. He flipped me onto my stomach as though I weighed nothing, then grabbed my hips to haul me up to my hands and knees. Other News

My free story this month, Trespass has the distinction of being the most-often-rejected story I've ever written. I submitted it to four different editors before it was finally accepted (for the Coming Together: By Hand anthology). I think the rejections were due to the fact that the story is rather dark. However, it is also intensely romantic. How could it not be, based as it is on Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet? In this story, I also consider the way obscenity is culturally defined. What if showing a naked hand was more taboo than displaying bare breasts or buttocks?

I've also posted a brand-new poem called The Line. I haven't written poetry in years, but Ashley Lister's monthly writing challenge over at the ERWA blog has inspired me.

Tomorrow, or thereabouts, Victoria Blisse is due to announce the winners of her amazing Smut Al Fresco event. “Impossible. I'm sure she would establish a magic circle of protection to bar intruders. Anyway, I've accompanied her to enough luxury hotels to know that place over there will have plenty of human guards and cameras to keep out riff raff like you and me.”

“You're a fool, Shaina Williams. She'll destroy us both.” He did not resist, though, when I drew him into a kiss. The usual rush of sensations and images swept me away. You'd think I would have become accustomed to it by now - the world wheeling around us, tipsy and sparkling with stars, the warm pressure of his mouth turning me molten, his wild fennel taste and his scent of woodsmoke and crushed grass – but if anything, each touch was more intense and overwhelming than the ones before.

Drinking him, devouring him, scrabbling at his shirt in my quest for a bit of naked skin, I forgot the evil lurking in the edifice across the road. I forgot the people making their way down the sidewalk, a mere dozen feet away. I forgot my name. His lips, his hands, his body, were my only reality.

He molded my breasts then followed the curve of my hips down to my buttocks, kneading and massaging my flesh until I was frantic with want. I had begun the kiss, but now he took control, plunging his tongue into my mouth while grinding his swollen fly against my pubis. My clit twitched and sparked from the indirect stimulation. My major work in progress, Rajasthani Moon, is starting to look like it will be novel length. I'm having a fabulous time penning the adventures of Cecily Harrowsmith, secret agent for Her Majesty Queen Victoria - Amir, the Rajah of Rajasthan - and Pratan, his shape-shifting half brother. In Rajasthan, anything can happen!
 
I've also got a couple of shorter works simmering on the back burner. Given how long it takes me to finish a novel, I may try to bang those out first.

 By the time I'd finished my ablutions, the other room was silent. Wrapping my body in a towel, I risked cracking the door open.

Shadows filled the apartment. The lamps were still off. As my eyes adapted, however, I saw a male figure seated in the chair by the window, hunched over with his head in his hands.

"Tom!" Rushing to his side, I gathered him in my arms, his curly head pillowed on my breasts. Although he didn't resist, he also didn't reciprocate. Instead, he slumped against me, motionless, as though all the energy had drained from his powerful body. I barely felt the electricity that normally kindled when our skins touched.

His scent rose around me and my pussy twitched to life, but I knew that right now, sex wasn't what Tom needed.

"It's okay. Everything will be okay." I stroked his curly head, unsure how to counter his apparent weakness. "I'll take care of you, Tom. Don't worry...you'll be fine..."

"Fine?" His voice was bitter, edged with despair. "I'm cursed. Damned. How could I ever be 'fine'?"

He raise his face to mine. Tears brimmed in his luminous eyes. A vast wave of pity surged through me. I bent to kiss him, trying to pour my strength into him.

Our mouths met. Desire flickered underneath my boundless compassion. I let my tongue play along the soft seam where his lips pressed together. After momentary resistance, he opened to me, allowing me to take what I craved. At first, he was passive. I persevered, though, and before long he was kissing me in return, running his hands along my arms and gently fondling my breasts. My body awakened, little bursts of lightning racing through my limbs to my dampening sex.

The night came back to me, in vivid detail. I remembered the joy, the sense of connection. This man was made for me. I had to save him.

Tom finally broke the kiss and leaned back with a sigh. "Ah, Shaina! I should never have allowed you near me. But I was so very lonely... I wasn't thinking straight. Now I've put you in danger too."

"Danger? What kind of danger?" I reached over to flick the switch on my reading lamp, so I could read his expressions. Then I seated myself cross - legged at his feet and clasped his hands in mine. "Tell me, Tom. Tell me everything."

"You won't believe me."

"How could I not believe after - after what I saw this morning?"

His brows knotted together. "I never wanted you to see - I was careless..."

"But I did see. And now I know, at least something about you. But I don't know enough to help you out of whatever trouble you're in. Tell me the whole truth. I promise I'll keep it private, if that's what you want. And I promise I won't be shocked."

Tom's lush mouth twisted in a grimace of disgust. "You might not be able to keep that promise. But never mind. You've asked. I'll tell you."

He stared off into the distance, above my head. "I was born in a small town in coastal Maine, about seven years ago."

"Seven years...?"

"I was born a cat."

Last week I finished my story Mastering Maya and submitted it to Total-E-Bound for their Switch anthology. Imagine my delight when I received an acceptance only two days later! That's what I call efficiency! The collection is scheduled for release in September.

I also finished and submitted my story Layover to D.L. King for her femdom anthology Under Her Thumb. Unfortunately I won't hear about that submission until the summer.

My short story collection Just a Spanking has received uniform five star reviews on Amazon. I don't have any more free days scheduled at the moment, but when I do, I'll let you know. Or you could just spring for the five bucks and buy your own copy!

Next up on my writing schedule is a BDSM thriller, Bangkok Noir, an expansion of the short story in Rough Caress. A good friend of mine has been pleading with me for years to expand that tale into a novella . I guarantee it will only get hotter!

I'm also working on a tentacle erotica story for the Coming Together collection, Coming Together: Arm in Arm and Arm.

My biggest news this month is that Total-E-Bound has accepted my M/M science fiction book, Quarantine. I don't have a release date or cover yet, but believe me, when I do, you'll be the first to know! But I can share the blurb...

Dylan Moore will do anything for freedom. Seven years ago, a gay plague spread to heterosexuals, killing millions and sparking brutal anti-gay riots. The Guardians rounded up men who tested positive for the homogene and imprisoned them in remote quarantine centers like desolate Camp Malheur. Dylan's plan goes awry and Rafe comes to his rescue. Soon they're both fugitives, fleeing from militant survivalists, murderous androids, homophobic ideologues and a powerful man who wants Dylan as his sexual toy. Hiding in the Plague-ravaged city of Sanfran, Dylan and Rafe learn there's far more than their own safety at stake. Can they help prevent the deaths of millions more people? And can Rafe trust the love of a man who deliberately seduced him in order to escape from quarantine?

I'm really excited about this book - and not just because it has taken so long for me to finish. It's full of action, adventure and emotion, not to mention a good deal of steamy sex. Now the real question is, how am I going to wait until it comes out?

Coming Together Presents: Teresa Lamai - edited by yours truly - is now available. All proceeds from this fantastic erotica anthology benefit Amnesty International.
