New Year's Greetings and February Newsletter

Year of the Goat
Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the beginning of the Chinese Year of the Goat. This may not be a big deal wherever you are, but here in Asia, it's a major holiday. Given the goat's reputation for randiness, I thought he'd be an appropriate symbol for an erotica and erotic romance author like me!

New and Upcoming Releases

I have tons of news since my last newsletter. Okay, I know that was in November, but still, I've been really busy. I've got four new releases, not including anthologies, plus a bunch more in the pipeline.

First of all, if you're looking for hot, smart romance, check out my novel Nasty Business, in a new edition from Fireborn Publishing. I really like the cover, which captures the tension between the heroine and hero. Ruby Maxwell Chen, the beautiful and ruthless CEO of a huge British business empire, is used to getting her way. When she encounters American entrepreneur Rick Martell, though, she wonders if she hasn't finally met her match. Put these two together, and the sparks fly!

Then there's the first two books of my D&S Duos series. These are neat little packages with two BDSM erotic stories in each one. Book 1 contains "Body Electric" and "Limits: A Love Story". Book 2 includes "Never Too Late" and "Just a Spanking". Although they're short, they are emotionally (as well as physically) intense. I think you'll like them.
The covers for the series are by Excessica author and artist Willsin Rowe - a very talented guy in both roles.

Finally, I got my metaphorical feet wet just before Christmas by self-publishing my holiday story Slush. I had so much fun in the process that I'm planning on self-publishing a collection of paranormal erotica as soon as I can manage it.

In addition to these single-author titles, my story The Late Show is in the recently released collection Best Lesbian Erotica 2015, editing by the legendary Laura Antoniou, and I have two tales in this year's Mammoth Book of Best New Erotica (Volume 13), edited by Maxim Jakubowski.

Looking ahead, March will see the early download release of The Eyes of Bast from Totally Bound as well as the next book in the D&S Duos series, which will feature two femdom tales (just for a bit of variety). Also in March, LadyLit Publishing will bring out my brand new lesbian fantasy The Witches of Gloucester. I have also had a fun new M/M story entitled To Boldy Go accepted by Nobilis Reed for his charity anthology on a pioneering theme, Coming Together: Outside the Box. I'm not sure exactly when that's coming out, but I've already got an excerpt posted for you to enjoy.

In April, I'll release the fourth volume of D&S Duos, and a new collection of lesbian short stories entitled Her Own Devices.

I'm exhausted just thinking about all the promotion!

Free Reading and Other News

This month's free reading is a wolf-shifter story set on New Years Eve, entitled First Moon. I've also added a seasonal poem (for those of you who like such things), Solstice. After years of not writing much poetry, I've been inspired by Ashley Lister's monthly verse exercises at the Erotica Readers & Writers Association blog. I'm a sucker for a challenge!

Did you know I have more than fifty free stories available on my website? Next time you're looking for a quick erotica or romance fix, why not drop by? Whether your preferences run to paranormal, BDSM, science fiction, M/M, F/F or ménage, you're likely to find something to suit your tastes. I'm nothing if not versatile.

The page also includes a list of free PDF books which are available for the asking. All you have to do is send me an email request.

So I posted a contest in my last newsletter, but received zero entries. That's right, none. Zilch. Nada. I won't make that mistake again LOL. I will, however, be running a blog tour for The Eyes of Bast, most likely in April, as well as my usual frequent giveaways. For example, I'm giving away both D&S Duos books over at Decadent Divas this Saturday, and I have an open giveaway running until Sunday the 22nd at my blog.

The best way to stay informed about all my releases and contests, is to join my VIP email list. Just send an email to lisabet [at] lisabetsarai [dot] com. Every month I run an exclusive contest for my VIP readers. This month (I'll announce the details early next week) I'll be offering a bookstore gift certificate plus a free ebook pack. You still have a few days to join!

Lisabet's Pick of the Month

My February pick of the month is The Good Men Project, a website that examines what it means to be an enlightened male in the twenty first century. One of my friends and colleagues, Spencer Dryden, is a regular contributor to the site, which is how I found out about it. Well worth exploring!

Meet Sandi (and maybe win a Kindle...)

By Tonya Kinzer (Guest Blogger)

I’m here at Lisabet’s today to promote book one in my new lesbian romance series, Through His Lens. This is part of my blog tour, and I’m giving away a Kindle as my grand prize! See the end of the post for details about the giveaway.

Today I’d like to introduce you to my heroine Sandi from Dreams Do Come True. I got the chance to talk with Sandi at a local cafe after one of her shoots with Daniel, her photographer. We each ordered a glass of Cab with a meat and cheese tray.

Tonya: I have to ask what it’s like working with Daniel.

Sandi: He’s a sweetheart for sure. I’m always on the watch for women who would make a good model for him. Daniel knows how to work lighting so his models photograph the best. There’s no pressure because he puts you at ease, makes you calm down before he begins, but his green eyes still make me crazy. If I were interested in men, he’d be a front runner. Actually, we did have a thing a while back. I ended it before I got too attached because most of my relationships haven’t gone well. I have a mind of my own and don’t take orders well when it comes to restricting who I hang out with.

Tonya: It must be hard to watch Kiera get ordered around by the men she dates.

Sandi: Keeping my mouth shut is the hardest thing. She’s got a huge heart and nurtures anyone she thinks might need help. That’s what gets her into trouble. Kiera doesn’t rock the boat, meaning she’ll go with the flow and not disagree in order to keep from arguing. The men in her life take advantage of her, tell her who she can be friends with and where she can go.

Tonya: You have such a relaxed look and appear to be well put together. How do you keep your sanity?

Sandi: I work out, even on days I don’t want to. The exercise gives me energy, my joints don’t hurt and my muscles keep me toned. Exercise clears my head and helps me sort out problems rather than putting them in boxes in the back of my mind. My head is clear and I’m happy with where I’m at in life.

Tonya: Have you found that females give you more stability than males in your relationships?

Sandi: Living with Kiera is different than living with a guy…or maybe it’s because we seem to be on the same page all the time. We like the same foods, the same clothing styles, and we can be together without feeling like we need to entertain the other all the time. I keep hoping one day she’ll see the light where guys are concerned. She’s not met the right man yet and those she dates treat her like a doormat. That’s how her dad treated her growing up and her mother let it happen without stopping it…so it snowballs into her adult life.

Tonya: Is Kiera interested in modeling?

Sandi: Right now, no, but I think she’d be great. Kiera has no idea how pretty she is. Her childhood destroyed her self-esteem, which is why she lets the men in her life abuse her. If I can stop that from happening in the future, I plan to. The longer we live together, the closer we get and I have high hopes that I can prove to Kiera that a woman can treat her better than any man. *Sandi leans forward* I know I can love her better!

Tonya: Have you totally written off relationships with men?

Sandi: My relationship with Daniel was good, but in the back of my mind, I couldn’t get beyond the fear of him wanting to control my life at some point. Don’t get me wrong, he never once tried to do that, but I ended it out of fear. Today, we’re still friends and I know he hopes one day I’ll change my mind. I value his friendship a lot and his work as a photographer has certainly boosted my career. If Kiera would take a chance on modeling for him, I know he could do the same for her. I just need to convince her to do a shoot with Daniel.

Tonya: Sandi, I know you’re busy and have to run. Thank you for talking with me. Our readers love getting to know the characters through interviews with them. Good luck with everything, including Kiera. I wish you both the best.
Sandi: Thank you. I hope the readers enjoy our story in Dreams, as well as the books to follow. I’d love to stop by in one of your other books in the series, so keep us in mind! *wink*

Blurb

Sandi’s career has taken off as a model and she loves her photographer…just not the way he wished she did. The men of her past abused her one too many times and the one woman in her life is being treated the same way. Can she get Kiera away from her abusive relationship and show her what true love really is? The two of them have been roommates for two years where Sandi has been forced to comfort her each time she’s been abused. Determined to put a stop to the abuse, Sandi has to show Kiera a new relationship already exists for her.

Excerpt

Once they got into the elevator, Sandi pressed Kiera against the back wall, her tongue sweeping Kiera’s mouth as she sucked away every breath she had. Kiera laced her fingers behind Sandi’s nape, pulling her in for a deeper kiss. A moan slipped from Kiera’s throat before letting go of the fist of hair she held. Out of breath, Kiera stared into sultry hazel green eyes. “Damnit, woman...you make me wet.”

Good, then I’m getting my message through.” Sandi trailed her hand down Kiera’s back to cup her ass and squeeze. “I can’t wait to lick you dry, slut.”

Only for you, mistress!” Kiera unlocked the door and Sandi closed it behind them and turned the deadbolt. Kiera leaned against the kitchen doorway and watched Sandi drop her purse on the counter and grab two champagne flutes, and fill an ice bucket.

Sandi looked back at Kiera. “You’re not naked yet.”

I can’t take my eyes off of your sexy body. Come on, let’s get the bedroom set up. I’ve got plans for you.” Kiera slapped her ass as Sandi passed in front of her.

Sandi set the ice bucket on the night stand along with the glasses. She reached for the champagne, twisted it down into the ice and turned toward Kiera, sucking in her lower lip as her gaze moved over Kiera’s body. Kiera could easily see that Sandi had also had too much to drink as she envisioned Sandi naked, her full rounded breasts with their hard dark rose nipples.

Finally Sandi took in a deep breath. “Turn around so I can unzip your dress.”

Only if I unzip yours first. You turn around.” Sandi did and Kiera took her time moving the zipper lower until it reached her ass. Pushing the dress from her shoulders, it pooled at Sandi’s feet. “Leave it.” Kiera unhooked her bra, let it drop and hugged her lover from behind, one hand cupping a breast and the other slipped inside her thong to tickle the slight patch of pubic hair.

Launch Day Book Blast: Heart of Steel by Elizabeth Einspanier

[I loved this book! You can read my review here. Check out Elizabeth's giveaway at the end, too! ~ Lisabet]

Blurb

When reclusive cyborg Alistair Mechanus meets his captive, ER doctor Julia Parker, it is love at first sight--for him. While he eagerly drops his plans for World Conquest to woo her, ten years of solitude have left his social skills badly rusted. When his misguided act of kindness spirals out of control, however, Julia is forced to trust the mad genius with her life, and she discovers the vulnerable side under his armored plating. She has the skills he needs to unlock his forgotten past, but learning who he used to be may come at the cost of his remaining sanity.

Excerpt

Julia stopped in the doorway, pulling her hand out of Mechanus’. He turned to see what the matter was, and saw that she was looking past him, openmouthed, at the collection of plants on display. Mechanus followed her gaze in momentary confusion; he’d seen the flowers a thousand times before, and could easily look up the scientific name of every single specimen here and in the other two dozen greenhouses he had. He had detailed files about each specimen, after all.

It occurred to him that he ought to say something.

This is...” he began. No. Not quite right. He cleared his throat. “Welcome to Greenhouse Fourteen.” There. Much better.

I’m just... surprised you have something like this here,” Julia said. “I mean, everything else has been so...” She fell silent.

So...?” Mechanus prompted.

Industrialized.”

Well, food has to come from somewhere,” he pointed out. You can only do so much by replicating proteins and complex sugars, and my chimeras don’t seem to like the nutrient slurries at all. I grow fruits and vegetables in greenhouses like this one, as well as grains and medicinal plants that I’ve gathered from all over the world.” He took her hand and led her on into the greenhouse. “For example, did you know that there are over 200 species of plant that have the potential to cure cancer?”

I was talking about the flowers, but cancer cures are impressive, too.”

Idiot. Of course the flowers. Women liked flowers. “If you enjoy them,” he said, recovering with what he deemed sufficient grace, “I could give you one of my greenhouses. They’re self-maintaining, each with their own crew of maintenance drones who will ensure that they will remain healthy and green for the foreseeable future.”

Sneak Peek: Endless as the Rain by M.S. Kaye

Blurb

When Adriane Graham discovers a city councilman is part of an embezzlement ring, she doesn't realize her life is in danger until Alec Kadan, the son of a mobster, kidnaps her—not to kill but to protect her. But why? And how does he know so much about her, right down to her favorite books? In order to find out, Adriane must get past Alec's anger and secrecy to unravel his past and find the key to her own.

Excerpt

The thought that was still eating at me was the possibility of rejection. I’d heard women talk about how almost any woman can get a man’s attention once, that men generally have a strong drive and will usually take most opportunities. But Alec was strong-minded. If he truly didn’t want a woman, I was certain he’d reject her.

It was a risk.

One I was willing to take.

I peeked into the hall to be certain no one was around, and then walked silently through the shadows. I turned the corner toward his room.

My mind couldn’t help but to wander. I began to see images—at first his surprise, and then understanding, and hopefully his arousal. I saw kissing and removal of clothes before lying down. I hoped he wouldn’t feel the need to talk or to ask why. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to hide my true motivations.

My feet stopped.

I couldn’t do it.

I wouldn’t trick him like that—hide the truth from him just to have what I wanted.

Only a couple feet from his door, I turned, somehow feeling pride, shame, and disappointment all in that one turn.

The click of a door opening—his door.

I managed not to jump.

Adriane?”

I turned half way to look at him over my shoulder. “I’m sorry I woke you. I was just feeling restless.” It wasn’t a complete lie.

As I looked at him, my resolve wavered for a second. His expression was beyond kind but with a little concern—for my sanity, no doubt. He still wore his slacks and dress shirt but barefoot, and his shirt was untucked and unbuttoned. His hair was a little disheveled, and what absolutely killed me was the slight sheen of his skin, as if I’d woken him from an intense dream. His skin seemed to glow in the faint light, and his eyes took on that deep shadowed effect. Why did he have to look like that? He was perfect in every other way. Why this too?

Is something wrong?” he asked.

So as not to seem rude, I turned to face him properly. “No. I was just restless. Please go back to sleep.” And please dont look at me too closely.

He took a step closer. At least it was dark. I ran my fingers through my hair to casually pull it back.

He took a breath.

Are you sure?” he said.

I crossed my arms, pretending I was cold, but really trying to hide my chest. I worried, though, that I only succeeded in creating more cleavage.

Did his eyes just flicker? No, it was too dark to see his eyes clearly.

I’m fine,” I said, “just a little cold.” I turned to leave.

He didn’t respond, and I continued my escape. Once my door closed, I pressed my back against it, head leaned and eyes closed. My heart pounded. It shouldn’t be legal to look like that.

Faintly, I heard his door close. Then I jumped at a loud pounding sound, like someone punching a wall, and his voice, though muffled from distance. “Dammit.”

It was only maybe ten minutes later that I heard his footsteps. The sound of his shoes, no longer bare feet, quickly moved down the stairs. It was only three in the morning.

Sunday Snog #161: Better than Fifty Shades (really!)

First of all, let me congratulate Tameka. I drew her name as the winner of my contest last Sunday, and just sent her a copy of my most recent release, D&SDuos Book 2.

This week, since the world is all abuzz about the release of the FSOG movie, I thought I’d share a bit from my story of a BDSM virgin and her Master – my first novel, RawSilk. Okay, my heroine Kate isn’t a total sexual novice like the hapless Ana, but before she meets the charismatic Dom Gregory Marshall, she has zero experience with any sort of power exchange. In Gregory’s expert hands, to her shock and surprise, she discovers within herself an unsuspected desire to surrender herself – body and soul.

Sound interesting? I’ve got a long, hot excerpt below. Meanwhile, I’m giving away a print copy of the book to one reader who leaves a comment with his or her email.

I’m not bragging – it really is a much better book than Fifty Shades.

Oh, and when you’re done reading and leaving a comment, head back to Victoria’s for more sexy kisses!

He mounted the bed and straddled her with his thighs. His engorged penis hovered above her body. Despite herself, she writhed a bit below him. In response, he leaned over and pinched both her nipples, hard enough that she cried out.

Still, I said! You are mine now, mine to do as I wish. I will fuck you, or not fuck you, as I please.

But,” he added, smiling, “I do please.”

The bonds already held her wide open. Her sex was already drenched with arousal. Never taking his eyes off hers, he sank his penis into her, into the heart of her, depths she had not known existed.

She had never felt anything like it. It was fire and knives, hot and sharp, a blazing sun in her cunt. She was filled, stretched, split open, it seemed, pinned to the bed by his rod of velvety steel.

For a long moment, he stayed there inside her, his gaze riveted to hers. She felt him throb and swell, as if he was willing himself to grow larger still. She tightened her muscles around him, but otherwise tried to remain motionless, even as her flesh ached to thrash and thrust herself against him. She kept her eyes open, held captive by the weight of his gaze. She knew her own lust showed clearly on her face; she did not care.

He pulled away, to the edge of her lower lips, and she bit her tongue so as not to cry out with the loss. Then he came crashing back into her, hard, deeper than before. The flames surged. He withdrew and thrust again and again, always harder, almost brutal. Kate found that the edge of pain only sharpened the pleasure, made it stronger and more complex. And she saw no cruelty in his face, only a kind of fierce delight.

She strained against her bonds now, fists clenched, still struggling to follow his prescription of stillness as he fucked her, as the knot of sensation within her womb drew tighter and tighter. Yet somehow climax seemed far away, even as she climbed to higher and higher levels of arousal.

She whimpered a little. Gregory’s eyes bore down on her. Then she swore she heard his voice, though his lips did not move. “You are mine, Kate, mine. Admit it to yourself and to me. Let go, give yourself to me. Let me give you the satisfaction you crave.”

She looked at the man looming above her, felt him probing her with his cock and his mind. Something in her loosened. Her hands opened and she let the ropes support her arms and legs. She relaxed her inner muscles, allowed herself to be opened and stretched even further. Gregory responded by grinding his cock into her, filling all that she offered to him.

Then she felt the wave coming, as if from far off. A thundering crest of pleasure swept over her, casting her mind and body adrift on an electric sea. As her consciousness slipped away, she caught a final glimpse of Gregory’s face, with its expression of mad triumph.

He was dressed, when she came back to her senses, though she could still see the flames graven on his skin, peeking from beneath his rolled-up sleeve. He had pulled the chair to edge of the bed and sat there, watching her. She could have sworn there was a look of worry on his face, but it evaporated when she smiled at him.

Ah, Kate,” he said lightly. “I’m glad you’re back. I think that’s enough, for tonight. Don’t you agree?”

Kate felt dazed. She didn’t know how to respond. However, the question must have been rhetorical, because Marshall began to untie her ankles, and then her wrists. Still she lay there, deliciously exhausted, languishing in the perfect passivity of her climax.

Get up. Get dressed now. I’ll get you a cab to take you home.”

As if in a trance, Kate followed his instructions. She refastened her bra over her still-aching breasts, zipped up her skirt, buttoned her blouse up to its high neck. She looked around for her panties, and saw that Gregory held them in his hand.

I’ll keep these, if you don’t mind,” he said with a mischievous grin. “To remind me of you. Until the next time.” Kate felt the starched fabric of her skirt brushing against her bare ass, and smiled back, a bit weakly.

Marshall stood before her now. He bent down and kissed her deeply, his tongue as probing as his cock had been. She found herself responding with equal passion, the taste of him re-igniting the fires in her still-damp sex.

You did well, Kate, very well.” he said, almost tenderly. “You were born to this. You may not understand, yet, you may not believe. But I will teach you.

Do you want that?” he asked, pulling away so he could see her face.

Kate blushed and lowered her eyes. “I don’t know,” she said. “I’m so confused.”

Gregory raised her face to his. “Think about it. Think about me.

And if you decide that this is what you want, here is your first assignment. Since you are leaving your panties with me, I want you to go to work tomorrow without any. No underwear, or pantihose. And every time that you sit down, let the sensations in your flesh remind you of me, of us, of who and what you are.”

Cold, But Not Heartless

By Aurelia T. Evans (Guest Blogger)

I am an overly emotional person, except when I’m not.

Sometimes my emotions get so intense that the only solution is for some enterprising up-and-coming technician in my brain to turn the switch off for a while. The technical term is ‘dissociation.’ Authors are no strangers to dissociation. It’s practically a job requirement, not a symptom. The only problem is when it extends beyond when I’m writing and into my real life. The numbness, the inability to feel anything but emptiness, disconnected—it sure beats feeling like I’m stuck in the bottom of Jame Gumb’s Silence of the Lambs pit. It lets me stay functional. But it has its own problems, as you might imagine.

Most of my characters find themselves in the grips of powerful emotions. Sex magnifies everything. From passion to anger to fear to love, romance and erotica lends itself to torrents of feeling.

Julia is different.

She’s not the first character I’ve written who’s lost her memory. Tora, from Wolf Girl (coming out at the end of the year), has her memory wiped away by an external force. She’s a creature of pure emotion, since that’s all she has. Julia, from my vampire serial Bloodbound, took quite a different turn. When awareness returns to her, she’s cold, numb, emotions as stripped away as her memory, although not stripped away because of her memory.

Writing Julia was an interesting exercise. She’s not as easy for people to identify with, harder to pin down, harder to connect with because she can’t connect with herself. She’s a cold fish, a hard woman, bleached in mind and body. The qualities that appeal to the vampire love interest in question, Nathan, aren’t her stunning good looks or sparkling personality. Yet the vampire priest and I agree—she’s fascinating, especially the things going on beneath the blank surface of her thoughts. Because she’s far from empty.

Julia is damaged as a fallen family photograph. Something in her head is splintered. Bridges were destroyed long before her memory failed her. I find Julia darkly appealing, and I relate to her damaged side more than some of the other relatively well-adjusted characters that I’ve written. If someone wants a more connected character, I have plenty of others to choose from (since I have quite a few stories coming out this year and the next). Bloodbound is Julia’s story, the story of a woman whose coldness has helped her survive. And that’s how I like it.

The serial novel Bloodbound is my first attempt at self-publishing—it only seems appropriate that I get to start the process with an atypical protagonist. I’ve been making noise about indie publishing for a while, but I’m finally forcing myself to just do it. It helps that I have a banging cover—that’s one of the main reasons I’ve pushed myself to actually do it.

I’m nervous and cautiously excited, since self-publishing means everything’s on me. But erotica is fortunately an indie-friendly genre, and I have a wonderful support system for the process.

Allow me the pleasure of introducing you to Julia and some of the other characters in the first book in the Bloodbound serial, Blood Lost.

Blurb

Bloodstains on her clothing and bloodlust between the sheets, she’s never been more lost…and that’s why he chooses her.

As if wandering the streets in bloody clothes after losing her memory isn’t bad enough, Julia’s been kidnapped by vampires, then presented to Nathan, high priest of Dominion.

Nathan’s not interested in a bleeder, perfectly content with fellow priest Lucas as his companion, lover, and willing servant. However, when Lucas offers her to him, Julia’s endearing confusion and lack of fear intrigue him.

With nowhere else to go without her memories, Julia accepts his offer and embarks on a sensual but deadly journey into the world of Dominion and its arrogant, esoteric elite…as well as the darkness of her own desires and the mystery of her past.

Excerpt

Get the fuck off me, you fucking leech, evil prick, wannabe demon!” Monica struggled, kicking her legs back and forth, trying to scratch the priest with her good hand, but he somehow managed to evade every single attack.

You think you’re the first fighter I’ve brought to him?” the priest said, laughing. All the kindness had drained out of his demeanor, although the warmth of his voice made his cold declarations all the chillier.

Now would be the perfect time for Julia to try to escape while the priest distracted himself with Monica, but this time there was no chance of saving Monica if Julia left now. It wasn’t that there was no point in saving herself, but there was less point. She had nowhere to go, no reason to save herself when there wasn’t a whole lot of self to save.

And even if she wanted to try just for the sake of blind hope, the dust motes in the center aisle moonbeam were coalescing as Monica fought, her jabs becoming more focused but no less futile. Julia hesitated with one foot on the stage and the other off, the younger girl trailing behind her and clinging to her shoulder to hold her back.

I think that’s quite enough, children.”

Monica stopped fighting and instead stared, stunned, at the man coming up the center aisle.

Like the priest holding Monica, this man appeared at first glance unobtrusive, his presence quiet. Like the priest, he wore the uniform, but his clerical collar was black instead of white. His skin was naturally tan but somehow still managed to appear pale, as though the color underneath the translucent golden layer had leached out. The priest’s smile was gentle, but this new man’s smile—though following the same curve—gave the impression of a stalking cat rather than a content one. Although he didn’t appear old, his hair was prematurely silver all the way through, as though touched by frost, with lowlights of slate gray near the scalp where the hair was denser.

And whereas the priest’s eyes were nearly black, this man’s were nearly white. They pierced instead of welcomed, and although she wasn’t proud of it, Julia lowered her gaze when they attempted to bore through to the mind beneath her skull.

My Master,” the priest breathed with religious reverence. “Kneel, woman,” he told Monica, but he truly addressed all three. “Kneel with me before your Master.”

I kneel to no one,” Monica retorted. However, even she was shocked and awed by this unassuming man that somehow dominated the entire room just by existing, his appearance as average as it was inexplicably alien. She dropped to the floor when the priest buckled her knees with a solid kick.

The priest, too, knelt to honor the man, keeping a hold around Monica’s neck.

The younger girl collapsed not onto her knees but to the side, sobbing renewed as though she did not know how to stop. Julia forgot about her as soon as the girl released her grip on Julia and left her standing.

The white gold of the man’s skin was cool on her chin where he brushed his fingers like a frigid winter wind. Ever so gradually, he lowered his hand and she lowered herself with it. Anything to keep from looking into those eyes. He withdrew when she knelt at his feet.

Rise.”

The priest gripping Monica stood in a single graceful motion, intimately familiar with the act. He pulled Monica up with him. The younger girl quivered as though she could feel the master’s chill from three feet away. She might not have even heard the man’s command as she proceeded to simply dissolve into a pool of exhaustion and fear.

Julia stood up and stepped back onto the stage, away from the man. She kept her eyes downcast, but not in deference.

So these are the women you’ve chosen for me, Lucas,” the man said. He paced before the stage. Julia could hear that smile when he added, “I can tell you have reached the end of your patience with me, if these are the ones you have brought. Just picking them at random now, are we?”

I tried picking them deliberately, but they were never what you wanted,” the priest, Lucas, replied. “I apologize if these seem like desperate selections.”

Oh, I understand,” the man said. “It is frustrating when your Master cannot even articulate what he wants. How can you be expected to know what intangible quality might appeal to me, what a woman must have to feel right, when all you’ve ever known I liked was you?”

Your commands have never been a chore,” Lucas protested.

No, but you must indeed be at your wit’s end if that poor girl is any indication. Come now, Lucas, you already knew she was too young. And limp. A wisp of a thing not even fit for donation.”

The fine, shiny, black shoes paused before the despairing heap of the younger girl. That hand reached out and stroked across the girl’s forehead. Her sobs abruptly ceased, her eyelids fluttering. In a few seconds, she pitched forward. Her face almost hit the wooden stage, but the man caught and cradled it before laying her down. Her back rose and fell, which meant the girl was unconscious once more, not dead.

A mercy for all, Julia thought.

About Aurelia

Aurelia T. Evans is an up-and-coming erotica author with a penchant for horror and the supernatural.

She's the twisted mind behind the werewolf/shifter Sanctuary trilogy, demonic circus series Arcanium (publication starts April 2015), and spiritual gothic/urban fantasy series Meridian (publication TBD). She's also had short stories featured in various erotic anthologies.

Aurelia presently lives in Dallas, Texas (although she doesn't ride horses or wear hats). She loves cats and enjoys baking as much as she dislikes cooking. She's a walker, not a runner, and she writes outside as often as possible.
