Back List Blast: Truce of Trust

Truce of Trust by Lisabet Sarai

M/F/M BDSM ménage erotic romance

How can a woman choose between her husband and her Master?

Some women might think Leah's existence heavenly. She shares her home with two sexy men who both adore her. Ten years married to lusty, artistic Daniel, she still enjoys the discipline and release offered by Greg. But her lovers' jealousy and possessiveness have made Leah's life a hell. Unable to bear the continuous conflict, she flees to an idyllic seaside resort to ponder her future. Gradually she realises that she cannot live without either of her lovers. If the two men can't settle their differences, though, then how can she bear to live with them?

Excerpt

The three of them sat out on the deck, finishing off the second bottle of wine and enjoying the residual warmth of early September. The air still smelled of summer, ripe raspberries and sun-browned grass. In the woods that edged of the yard, night birds called. A crescent moon rose over the tree tops. The strains of Bach’s "Musical Offering" filtered through the screen from inside, mingling with the bird song.

At least Daniel and Greg share the same taste in music, thought Leah dreamily. She leaned back in her chair, finally relaxed. She glanced over at her husband. His eyes were closed. He was lost in the glorious melody. As though he felt her scrutiny, he turned to her, his handsome face luminous with joy.

Greg was watching her, a gentle half smile on his full lips, with no hint of his usual mockery. Leah smiled back, grateful that he was acting like such a gentleman.

I'm incredibly lucky, she thought. Most women search all their lives for one true lover. I have two. Perhaps I should feel guilty, knowing that they have agreed to our ménage in order to please me. But all I feel is gratitude.

Hope and relief washed through her. Maybe this would work after all. They just had to adapt, to get used to living together. To give up some of their individual selfishness for the sake of group harmony. She'd been selfish herself, expecting them to suppress their natural jealousies and insecurities just to please her. She needed to be more understanding. It had to be difficult for them, sharing her. Both men were so dear to her - she needed to work harder to show them.

Greg stirred in his chair. "It's late, and I've got to work tomorrow. Finish your wine, Leah, and come to bed."

Daniel looked up abruptly. "Wait a minute. Tonight's my night."

"No, it's not. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays she's with me. In case you've forgotten, this is Friday."

"That's not fair. She was away last night at her seminar. So she and I should be together tonight as compensation."

"Sorry, old man." (Daniel was three years older than Greg, who liked to rub that in.) "You know that's not how the system works."

"Well, perhaps we need to consider changing the system. Somehow it always seems to work out that Leah is away from the house on my nights."

"Please..." Leah stood, trying to intervene, but it was as though she wasn't there.

"I'm sorry, but that's not my problem. Anyway, you shouldn't be such a bad sport. After all, you had her to yourself for years."

Daniel snorted in exaggerated disgust. "To myself? Hardly! I couldn't make love to her without wondering if she was fantasising about you. I couldn't look at her without seeing the marks that you had left."

"Marks she asked for, don't forget."

"That's what you claim, at least." Daniel was sexually adventurous, but he had no interest in BDSM. Leah knew that he was truly perplexed by the power dynamics between her and Greg.

"Believe me, I can make her beg to be beaten," Greg said smugly. "Isn't that true, little one?"

Leah blushed fiercely, as embarrassed as she was angry. Of course, Daniel knew this about her, but still she didn't want to admit it out loud.

Both of them stared at her in mute accusation.

"Answer me, Leah." Greg put a hint of steel in his voice. Shivers of anticipation raced through her in response. Her deepest instinct was to obey him, but she resisted, silent and rebellious.

"Why do you put up with him?" Daniel donned his wounded boy expression, pouting under his moustache. "All he does is hurt you. He has no respect for you. I can give you all the love and tenderness that you need."

"You have no idea what she really needs," said Greg softly. His aim was true, as always. Daniel slumped in momentary defeat, then roused himself.

"If that's so, then why did she marry me?" he asked, playing his own trump card.

Leah had heard it all before, and suddenly, she couldn't take anymore. She turned her back on them and headed for her room, ignoring their voices calling after her.

Her overnight bag was still packed from her business trip. She pulled out the dirty things and threw in some clean underwear, jeans and jerseys. She was debating whether to bring a dress when her door opened. Stubbornly, she continued her packing.

Greg towered behind her. He put his hands on her shoulders and turned her around to face him. "Where are you going, little one?"

"Away. Away from the two of you and your constant bickering."

"He started it, after all, with his claims about things being unfair." He bent to kiss her. She turned her head away, unwilling to be mastered, but he grasped her chin and pulled her mouth to his.

Leah didn’t want to surrender, but she couldn’t help it. She was dizzy with instantly kindled lust. He nipped at her lips, probed her with his tongue. He drank her in, consumed her. Between her thighs everything melted. The room began to smell funky, as though he already had her naked and open before him.

Without taking his mouth from her, he grabbed her nipple and twisted it, hard. Her body arched against his, the familiar pain quickly transformed to shimmering pleasure. He broke the kiss and looks down at her, shaking and helpless with desire.

"You're mine," he whispered. "You'll always be mine. You just keep him around because you're afraid to give yourself completely to me. Afraid of going too far. You don’t trust your own desires."

Leah had a vision of Daniel, his wine glass filled to the brim with vodka, filling page after page with angry, aching prose. There was a wrenching pain in her chest. They've grabbed my heart and they are rending it into bloody pieces, she thought.

This pain that had no sweet after-echoes. She tore herself from Greg's grasp.

"You're wrong." Her throat tightened into a sob. "I love him. It's different from the way we are, but it's just as real."

"If we were together, by ourselves, you'd forget him."

"NO!" His arrogance, sometimes so exciting, was nothing but frustrating to her now. "You don't understand. He's a part of me, just as you are."

He reached for her again. "I'd make you forget him, Leah. I'd beat him out of you." His voice was gentle, contrasting with the violence of his words. Underneath his bravado, she could feel his need.

The Dark Side of Dominance

By Wayne C. Rogers (Guest Blogger)

In 1977, I was managing a used bookstore. That was the year An Excess of Love by Jac Lenders changed my life. This book was my first introduction to female domination and cuckolding. The novel affected me so strongly that I finally knew what I wanted in a relationship.

A year after reading the An Excess of Love, an older woman (Dee) came into the bookstore where I worked. She was thirty-nine, and I was twenty-eight. Dee had on a tight black leather skirt with black pantyhose and high-heels, and an expensive light-blue, long-sleeved blouse. She was also married with five children (her husband was in the military and had just been stationed overseas), and was dominant as hell. In less than a week, we were having a blatant affair that would last for nearly a decade. Her husband was totally against everything she wanted to experiment with in the bedroom. I, on the other hand, was willing to try anything.

I loaned her my copy of An Excess of Love, and that opened up even more areas of interest to her, especially cuckolding. This was a woman who was bored with vanilla sex at home and wanted to try something risky such as having affairs with other men. In time, she would use my apartment for that. Nothing was taboo with Dee. She had no trouble tying me face down on a bed and beating my buttocks hard with a bamboo rod when displeased with my behavior. She also had no problem with having me perform oral sex on her for hours at a time and then leaving me sexually unfulfilled when it was time to return home. I certainly had no problem with her lovers. In fact, when she would tell me about them, it sexually excited me to no end. I kept my apartment cleaned for her and the other men. I made sure my bed always had fresh sheets on it whenever she was bringing someone to my place.

Even when her husband returned home, we continued with the affair. My apartment was a safe haven for Dee as well as for the other men she occasionally saw. She often talked about what it would be like to have me as her submissive husband and doing exactly as she pleased within the marriage. I always thought we would’ve made the perfect couple had things been different.

After ten years, I moved out west, living in Las Vegas for a while, then San Francisco, and finally back to Vegas. It was here in sin city that I first saw the house on Palomino Lane that would become the subject for my novel, The House of Blood. I instinctively knew the house would be perfect for a couple whose lifestyle was based on female domination. Not the loving kind of female domination, but the rough and painful kind that drew blood.

It took another sixteen years before I was finally able to write the book. I wanted to throw everything I could think of into the mix, stir it around, and see what developed. The theme of the story was about two consenting adults who have a marriage based female domination. They buy a haunted house that was once own by the infamous Lady Anne, the Whip Lady of Las Vegas during sixties. Though the novel would start out with the couple having a loving marriage, it would quickly disintegrate into something harsh, brutal, unmerciful, and utterly humiliating for the husband as his wife came under the total influence Lady Anne’s horrible spirit.

I wrote the first edition in 2007 and sold it immediately to Pink Flamingo Publication. The novel, however, didn’t feel finished. I then rewrote it in 2010, eliminating whole chapters and adding fifty pages of new material, upping the ante of what Chris Hill would endure at the hands of his sadistic, dominant wife. I felt the new edition was infinitely better than the previous one. Of course, it was geared more toward a male audience, than a female one. Still, I heard from women who found the novel arousing.

Blurb
Chris Hill is a successful writer of horror fiction. When he and his wife, Katherine, move into the old, Gothic-styled house on Palomino Lane, their lives quickly change for the worse. For Katherine, the dark history of the house draws her into its vile, evil web. The house and spirit of Lady Anne possess her, feeding off the pain, humiliation, cuckolding, and sexual perversity that Katherine inflicts on her submissive husband. Unable to say no to his wife’s sexual desires, Chris finds himself sinking further into a dark abyss with no escape.

Back List Blast: Fire in the Blood

Fire in the Blood by Lisabet Sarai

M/M/F vampire ménage

In the heart of darkness, eternal passion burns.

Maddy and Troy hope that a carefree vacation in tropical Jamaica will re-ignite the passion in their five year relationship. On a scenic mountain trail ride, Maddy's horse bolts and carries her deep into the jungle. Injured and lost, she is saved by a seductive giant of a man whose mere presence kindles unbearable lust. By the time she understands his dark nature, it is far too late for her to escape.

Bitter and alone, Etienne de Rémorcy haunts the forest around the ruined plantation of Fin d'Espoir. He has sworn to never again taste taste human blood, but when slender, raven-haired Madeleine begs him to take her, he cannot resist.

Troy is hugely relieved when Maddy makes her way back to their hotel after her ordeal in the mountains. But he finds her greatly changed - fiercely passionate in bed, restless and disturbed at other times. The tall, elegant stranger he meets on the beach holds the key to her transformation - and soon has seduced Troy as well. Even Etienne's most potent magic can't extinguish the fire in Troy's and Madeleine's blood.

Excerpt

His entry was swift and silent. She didn't even know he was behind her until she noticed his fire-cast shadow on the bed. "You may wear this." He handed her a brilliant garment of multi-coloured silk. "It belonged to my mistress." The dressing gown was soft as a cloud, so delicate that Maddy feared it would tear at her slightest touching.

"God, it's exquisite." The jewel-toned robe shimmered with a twining pattern of blossoms and peacocks.

"But I can't wear this. I'll destroy it. It looks like an antique."

"Put it on." Power rang in his voice. There was no way that she could disobey. She slipped the gown over her shoulders and belted it around her waist. The silk caressed her breasts and belly like secret hands. Her pussy dampened again. "Sit down now, and I will bind your ankle."

She seated herself on the bed. The giant perched on a wooden stool and drew her foot into his lap. Maddy struggled to hold still. Every time he brushed his fingers over her flesh, electric thrills sizzled up to strike between her legs. She wanted him to push to slithery silk up her thighs, to spread them so wide that it hurt, then dive down to feast on her juicy sex. Surely he must smell her. He must hear her heart, so loud in own ears that she could no longer hear the crackling fire. However, he appeared to be completely occupied with his nursing duties. He wrapped her foot and ankle in layer after layer of taut muslin, a reasonable substitute for an ace bandage, then secured his efforts with several safety pins.

She couldn't stand it any more. She laid her palm on the kinky nap covering his head. He raised his eyes. In their depths she saw wisdom and pain. "I'm Madeleine," she said. "What's your name?"

"Etienne." He settled back on the stool. "Etienne de Rémorcy."

"I want to thank you, Etienne. For all your help." Casually, with one hand, she loosened the sash holding the robe closed. She leaned forward, so that the silk gapped open and revealed her gleaming white breasts.

"I could hardly do otherwise. My mistress taught me how to be a gentleman. You obviously needed my assistance." His rich voice sounded strained.

"Oh, I did." Maddy shifted on the bed. The dressing gown slipped off one shoulder. "I still do." The peacocks slithered away, exposing her pale thigh and her wound, crusted with dried blood.

Etienne's eyes glittered. His blunt hands shot out and grabbed her wrists. "Do not play with me, girl." Lust gushed through Maddy's body. Etienne's nostrils twitched. He tightened his grip until she cried out. "Do not tempt me."

"You're hurting me," she whimpered. "Please..." Dimly she understood that she was not begging to be released.

"Believe me, I will hurt you far more if we continue." Etienne forced her down on the bed, her captured arms above her, and straddled her with his massive thighs. "Although I was taught to be a gentleman, in truth I am a savage beast." The fragile silk tore away from her nakedness.

"Don't you want me?" Maddy's eyes swam with tears.

He brought his mouth close to her ear. "You could not possibly understand how much." His breath was the icy exhalation of a glacier.

She shivered under his weight. His coolness only stoked the fire in her pussy. "Then take me."

He freed her wrists and sat back on his heels, searching her face. She cupped her ripe breasts and offered them to him. Please, she prayed silently, let him see my need. She opened herself to him, letting those luminous eyes probe her deepest desires.

He licked his full lips, and his white teeth gleamed in the fire light. He reached for his belt. "Let it be as you will, then," he growled. "I am no longer responsible."

Excerpt

I picked up the little whip that Ajarn gave me to use in my act and swirled the thongs lazily around above my head. Then I stuck it between my thighs and rubbed it back and forth. Mmm. I could smell myself, as I got more and more wet.

I checked my audience. Everyone was watching me. I chose first one man, then another. I stared at each one until he was too embarrassed and lowered his head. I didn 't smile, just stared. Letting them know with my eyes that I was in charge. The boss lady.

At the end of the row of benches, I noticed somebody new. A handsome farang with hair the color of straw, wearing business clothes that looked expensive. He smiled at me, a strange smile that made me feel like I was naked.

Of course, my costume doesn't hide very much. Normally, that gives me a feeling of power. Maybe I will allow them to see the hidden parts. Maybe not.

With this man, it didn't matter what I was wearing. I felt like he could see right through my clothing. Like he could see every bit of me, even if I wore street clothes. My nipples started to ache, and my G-string got more slippery than ever.

For the first time since I started working for Ajarn, I was nervous. I stumbled on my spiky heels. I almost lost my balance. Luckily, I was able to turn the mistake into a sexy dip that showed off my bare rear. Most of the customers didn't notice.

The blond man was not fooled.

My heart was beating so hard that it hurt. When I finished my dancing time, I ran into the toilet and splashed some water on my face. I crouched down, my back against the wall, listening to the chatter of the other girls. My eyes closed, I tried to follow my breathing, the way the monks taught me. All I could see was the farang looking at me, with that X-ray stare of his, like something from a science fiction movie.

I stayed in the bathroom for as long as I could. I knew Ajarn would notice if I was gone too long. Finally, I had to go back out. I peeked out from behind the curtains, trying to see if he was still there. When I saw that his seat was empty, I sighed with relief.

I headed toward the bar to get a Coke. My throat was tight and dry. Then I felt a hand on my arm. It was him. His skin was so cool, it made me shiver.

"Can I buy you a drink?" he asked. His voice was kind, and made me think of music. Still, I felt something like terror. He stared at me without blinking. Now it was me who had to look away.

Ajarn was on the other side of the room, watching us. I couldn't refuse.

"Thank you, sir. Just a moment. I go get a Coke, come back right away."

"Let me go with you," he said smoothly. He took my arm and walked me to the bar. After we got our drinks, he guided me to a table in the corner.

"Sit," he ordered. I didn't want to, not really. But what could I do? I clicked my glass against his. "Chok dee," I said. "Good luck to you."

His smile made me feel like I had eaten a meal of live butterflies. "Same to you. What's your name?"

"My name Nok. What your name?"

"You can call me Sam," he said. "Nok is bird, right?"

I nodded. He brushed my long hair off my shoulders and down my back. Then he took my chin in his hand. He raised my eyes to meet his again. I felt like I was captured. Trapped.

"Very appropriate. You're as delicate and airy as a sparrow."

I thought of those caged birds they sell at the temples. You set the birds free to make merit, but they always return to their masters.

Without warning, he kissed me. His lips were as soft as his voice, at least at first. I thought I should stop him, though. I tried to pull away. His right hand held my mouth against his. His left arm wrapped around my waist. I couldn't move.

So I gave up. I let him slide his tongue into my mouth and suck the breath from me. The funny thing was, as soon as I gave in to him, I began to like it. He smelled like soap and expensive cologne. He tasted like his whiskey. I could feel that he was strong, much stronger than he looked, with his slim body and fancy clothes.
He kissed me harder, biting my lip. I felt like I was melting. He let go of my chin and played with my breasts through the stretchy mesh. My sex was on fire against the hot, sticky leather.

Suddenly, he pinched one of my nipples, digging in his fingernails. His mouth smothered my cry of surprise and pain. After the pain, though, I felt amazing pleasure, shooting up my spine like lightning.

"You like that, Nok." My English is only so-so, but I could tell he wasn't asking a question. He was telling me. And he was right.

I was terribly embarrassed. I wanted him to do it again.

He bent me backwards. My hair nearly brushed the floor. He put his mouth on the other nipple and sucked. I felt like his mouth was between my legs, sucking me there. It was heaven. I reached up, wanting to stroke him, but he pushed my hands away.

Then, when I was not expecting it, he sank his teeth into my flesh. Everything went dark for an instant. Then pain exploded in me, brilliant as the sun. I was burning up, but I wanted to burn.

When I opened my eyes, he was watching me. That strange smile was on his face, but he also looked worried. "That's enough for tonight, Nok," he murmured. "I have an appointment elsewhere. But I will come back for you, soon."

I was too dazed to say anything. He stuffed a thousand baht note into the cup with the bill, to cover two one hundred baht drinks, and stood to leave. I grabbed his shirt. Not thinking, but not wanting him to go.

"Please, sir..."

He flicked his thumb across one of my aching nipples. Delicious echoes of pain rippled through me. "Be patient, Nok. Be patient and wait. Now is not your time."

Before I could say or do anything more, he was gone. I sat on the stool, confused. Ashamed. Frustrated. Sticky and dirty and smelling like a whorehouse. I buried my face in my hands, almost ready to cry.

Someone tapped me on the shoulder. "Your turn to dance again," said Lin. I nodded and stood up. I was still shaking.

"Who was that guy?" she asked. She knew that something was wrong with me.

"Just a guy," I said. I made myself sound uninterested. "Just a customer."

I paid my respects to the shrine in the corner, then climbed back onto the pedestal. I began to dance, showing off my whip to customers. Trying to look like I was in control.

Back List Blast: Bodies of Light

Bodies of Light by Lisabet Sarai

M/F/M science fiction erotic romance

Love travels faster than light.

Physicist Dr. Christine Monroe has devoted her lonely life to research on hyper-space travel. Her continued failure leads her to sign on to the Archimedes, a sub-light-speed mission aimed at establishing a colony in the Sirius B system. Waking from suspended animation, she discovers that the ship is wildly off course and the rest of the crew are dead due to equipment failure. At first she thinks the two handsome strangers who show up on the ship are figments of her imagination - erotic hallucinations created by isolation and stress. However, Alyn and Zed are solid, real, and ready to sacrifice their lives for the strong woman they've found stranded in deep space. As her ship begins to disintegrate, Christine must choose between the planet she was sent to save and the two alien beings she's come to cherish.

Excerpt

Symbols danced before Christine's eyes, rainbow-hued Greek and Latin characters, subscripts and superscripts. Schrödinger's equation waltzed with Vernon's reformulated field expressions. The de Broglie wave function shimmered in and out of focus as it transitioned through various eigenstates.

Feynman's path integral slithered through her consciousness. Constants slotted in and out of matrices. Four-dimensional graphs appeared in graceful rotation, displaying successive three-dimensional views.

It was all so clear. The necessary transformations were obvious. The mathematical notations reassembled themselves into intricate patterns that Christine immediately grasped. The solution was surprising but beautifully simple.

Triumph filled her. She understood at last how to twist the universe and unlock the gates to other dimensions. Joy suffused her spirit like pure light. Humanity was saved, saved from its own stupid errors.

A touch woke her. The equations fled, along with her comprehension. She opened her eyes to find Zed bent over her, shaking her shoulder and looking concerned.

"Why didn't you let me sleep? I saw it - the way to bend space and make faster-than-light travel possible. Now it's gone." She sat up, shaking her head, and glared at the stocky extraterrestrial.

"You were moaning and thrashing around on the bed. Almost like convulsions. We were worried."

"In any case, you've been asleep for thirteen hours," Alyn added. In two strides he crossed the floor of Christine's tiny quarters and seated himself on the bunk beside her.

"Thirteen hours?" She searched her memory. The pictures it provided made her blush. Alyn's platinum-crowned head buried between her damp thighs. Zed's massive erection bobbing in her face. She recalled the salty taste of him, the silk of his skin sliding over her tongue, the metallic tang of his cum. She remembered writhing against Alyn's mouth as he devoured her pussy. And there was more, much more - endless moments of shameful delight, pinned between them, Zed's cock buried in her cunt while Alyn's slender organ plundered her ass.

Christine remembered it all, far more clearly than her fast-evaporating dream of quantum inspiration. Her body remembered, too. Her quadriceps ached as though she'd done ten kilometres on the treadmill. Her inner thighs were tacky with her juices and pleasantly sore. When she shifted to support her back against the bulkhead, little twinges of pain recalled the outrageous sensation of being stretched and filled in both her orifices. Fresh moisture pooled in her cleft despite her determination to stay aloof.

"I guess you two wore me out." She twisted out of Zed's grasp, still bitter about losing the revelation from her dream.

"That's part of it," Alyn replied, trying to capture her hand. She snatched it away. "I suspect it is also a side-effect of your time in stasis. The stress from your mishap outside the ship may also have had an impact."

"So how do you feel now?" asked Zed, stroking his half-erect penis. "We missed you, while you were sleeping."

Christine tried to feel annoyed by the alien's apparently insatiable interest in sex. He was so beautiful, so hard and hungry-looking, so male, that she lost the battle.

"Rested. Starved. And not for sex," she added, noting Alyn's cock was also swollen. "No more sex until I've eaten. And until you've given me some answers."

Triumphant

By Lily Harlem (Guest Blogger)

Coming Together:Triumphantly  is a collection of erotica that deals with reclaiming the body and sexuality after trauma. It contains stories of triumph, of healing, and of appreciating the body and its abilities after (and in spite of) the changes brought about by illness/injury. This collection will benefit the National Women's Health Network.

This collection is edited by Dorla Moorehouse, who pitched the idea to Coming Together as follows:

In late 2010, my friend and fellow writer Reesa Brown and I decided we wanted to edit an erotica anthology based around reclaiming the body and sexuality after trauma, such as illness or assault. This idea was very important to Reesa, who was a breast cancer survivor. We mapped things out, found some interest from other writers we knew, and put together a call for submissions, but then Reesa's cancer returned. She spent most of 2011 fighting, and most of the time she was too ill to work. We planned to relaunch our efforts as soon as she was well, but unfortunately, that day never happened. After grieving her death in January, I've decided I want to continue along with the project as planned, even though she is no longer here to co-edit with me. While more than a year has passed since our initial plans, my motivation is stronger than ever.

CONTENTS:  Shy Bird (Lily Harlem); Scarlet's (Maxine Marsh); Mine Like The Rest of You (Teresa Noelle Roberts); How Love Can Triumph Over Cancer (Mark Lawrence); Love the Second Time Around (Deva Shore); My Stillness (Corey Fisk); Finding Christine (Alicia Baines)

A note from Lily Harlem - I was keen to add to this collection of stories that aids such a good cause, and it's not the first time I've donated stories to Coming Together, I also have a steamy menage tale in Coming Together; As One. Shy Bird, the introductory story, was interesting to write. I made the guy the one overcoming physical injury and although he's a big, tough, leather-wearing, tattooed biker, it’s the shy, unassuming girl who he takes up bird watching in the Norfolk Broads with who finally heals his heart.

Be we male of female, big or small, we all have challenges in life to overcome, sometimes just everyday things, other times life altering events. While friends and family help us overcome many hurdles, the giant step that is being intimate again after trauma or physical injury requires the gentle hand of a lover. Confidence is a delicate emotion, acceptance a powerful one and love in all of it’s many branches can be the biggest healer of all. I applaud everyone who has had the courage to move on, make new happy sexy memories and to their special people who’ve nurtured them with tenderness, patience and understanding along the way.

Excerpt from SHY BIRD

"Have you ever seen a hummingbird dancing amongst the flowers?" Ray whispered.

"No," I said in an equally hushed voice. "Never."

"It's beautiful, a wonderful prism of color flitting around."

"Where did you see hummingbirds?" I asked softly so as not to disturb the marsh harriers slowly making their way toward us.

"In San Diego years ago, when I was touring with the bike. Absolutely stunning."

We were quiet for a moment, concentrating on the endless expanse of mudflats. I sneaked a glance at him. Like me he was perched forward, elbows on the windowsill of the hide and binoculars primed in front of his eyes. I loved the old moss-green hat he always wore—his lucky charm—and the way his dark curls licked around the edge. From this angle he was picture- perfect.

"I'd love to go to America," I said.

"You will one day."

"I'm not sure, the thought of flying is too scary. I prefer to stay here, in Norfolk."

"Flying, scary?" He shifted his binoculars and turned to me, a strip of sunlight slashed across the silver lines on his right cheek. "But surely, as a dedicated bird watcher, a committed twitcher, flying is something you're fascinated by."

I huddled lower and drew up my shoulders. His complete attention always thrilled me, but equally it terrified me. "Yes, but not to actually fly myself," I said, feigning a complete fascination in a common starling that was pecking near the hide.

"Sometimes you just have to go for it," he said. His gruff voice held a note of steel.

In my peripheral vision I saw him re-align his binoculars and settle down again. We were waiting for a sighting of a spoonbill. Hopefully we would soon be treated to a glimpse of one of my favorite birds.

"Even if you're scared or worried, or you can't imagine doing it," he went on, "everyone has to take a risk sometimes and then deal with the consequences the best they can if it all goes wrong."

I bit down on my lip as my heart swelled. Ray had taken a risk and then had titanic-size consequences to cope with. He'd had a big, mean motorbike, raced all over with his mates until one winter's day he'd hit ice. He'd skidded head first into a wall and spent two weeks in intensive care fighting for his life. The scars on his face were the physical marks left on his body, but from our talks I knew there were more inside. He beat himself up over what he put his parents and friends through and the fact that one side of his face now looked like it had a spider's web spun over it.

Listening to him talk, as we sat in the hide, was one of my favorite things to do. It was bi-monthly this meeting of twitchers, and the highlight of my calendar since Ray and I had partnered up a year ago.

"I'm not as brave as you," I said.

Back List Blast: Necessary Madness

Necessary Madness by Lisabet Sarai

M/M Paranormal Erotic Romance

Both power and love can lead to madness.

Nineteen year old Kyle sees visions of disasters, visions that tear his world apart. Everyone assumes that he is schizophrenic, but Rob, the cop who picks him up off the street, knows better. Rob's own experience has taught him that psychic powers are real, and potentially devastating.

Since his telepathic sister's brutal murder, Rob wants nothing to do with "gifted" individuals like Kyle. Yet he can't deny his attraction to the beautiful, tortured young man -- an attraction that appears to be mutual. When a brilliant, sadistic practitioner of the black arts lures Kyle into his clutches, Rob faces the possibility that once again he may lose the person he loves most to the forces of darkness.

Excerpt

They'd left in a rush, barely polite. In their eagerness to get back to Rob's apartment, they'd refused offers of coffee and breakfast. The one hour trip from Petersham to Worcester seemed endless, especially since the state of the roads demanded extra caution.

Rob's erection throbbed, painful and demanding. He guessed that Kyle was hard too, though with the bulky jacket and scarf, he couldn't tell for sure. Kyle felt Rob's gaze. He raised his eyebrows in an unspoken question and his full lips curled into a smile, but he didn't speak.

Rob couldn't stand it any longer. They were coming down the hill into Gardner. There was a rest area near the city line. Rob yanked the steering wheel and the car swerved into the exit lane, cutting off a truck easing up from behind.

"What the hell are you doing?" Kyle yelled. The rest area hadn't been ploughed yet. The Saturn skidded for several yards before it came to rest in a parking spot. Rob scrambled out, then came around to open the passenger-side door. "Come on, baby. I just can't wait anymore."

The lot was deserted. Wind rustled the tall pines sheltering the building that housed the toilets, knocking clumps of snow onto the windshield. Rob grabbed Kyle's hand and practically dragged him out of the car.

"Rob—it's probably locked."

"I'll break down the door if I have to." Rob was desperate. But the men's room was open, although the electricity appeared to be off. Wan light entered via a dirty window near the ceiling. He pulled Kyle through the door and pressed him against the tiled wall, devouring the boy's mouth. Kyle responded with equal passion. Rob ripped open the snaps on Kyle's jacket and grabbed at his crotch.

"I'm sorry. I've got to have you. Now. I can't concentrate. I can't drive. All I can think about is you." He unfastened Kyle's belt and unzipped his fly, then yanked the jeans down around Kyle's knees. The young man's cock sprang out, huge and ready. Rob cradled it in his hands, then squeezed hard. Kyle groaned.

"Rob, what if somebody comes?"

Rob chuckled as he wrestled with his own cold fly. "Somebody is going to come—you and me!"

"No, really. If a state trooper came in to take a leak and found us here—you might lose your job."

"I don't care. I can't help it. Honestly, if I don't fuck you right now…" Rob didn't bother to finish the sentence. He turned Kyle to face the wall, bracing the other man's hands against the cold ceramic surface. He wrapped his arms around Kyle's chest and rubbed his cock back and forth in the boy's ass crack. Kyle whimpered and ground his butt against Rob's hardness, until Rob was sure he'd explode.

"Do it," Kyle gasped, as Rob reached down and gripped the his cock around the base. The younger man bent forward, presenting his rump. Rob spit on his fingers, then slipped one into the crevice between those pale globes. He probed the tight knot of muscle guarding Kyle's entrance.

"I've got a rubber but no lube," he whispered, wriggling his digit into Kyle's rear hole. Kyle writhed in response. "Nothing but spit."

"I can take it." Kyle caught his breath as Rob inserted a second finger. "I can take anything you give me. Just loosen me up first." He pressed his butt back, burying Rob's fingers more deeply.

"Oh, baby. You are so fucking hot." Rob had three fingers in Kyle's anus now and he could tell his partner loved it. Kyle clenched down, then relaxed as Rob spread his fingers apart. Rob rolled on the condom one-handed. He spit on his palm and rubbed the wetness up and down his rod. It was cold—the whole place was freezing—but there was a furnace burning inside Kyle's ass.
