One of my best friends in the writing biz is the outrageous Larry Archer. Larry’s an engineer who, along with his drop-dead gorgeous wife Foxy, happens to be a participant in the Swingers Lifestyle. His real world experiences provide plenty of fodder for his overactive imagination, and he’s happy to share his good times in his rollicking erotica.
If Foxy and Larry sound familiar, that’s because they feature in my own series, Vegas Babes. Fictionalized, of course...like the characters in Larry’s books. Still, there’s a lot of truth in these racy tales!
Anyway, whenever I start to get too prim and proper, Larry comes along and gives me a kick in the derriere, telling me “the smuttier the better”. I guess he knows what he’s talking about, because his latest release, House Party 3, is burning up the Amazon charts. I’d like to think I had a very small part in this, since I nagged him for months about how he needed more conflict in his books. (All close friendships include some nagging...) He took me at my word; in the House Party series, Foxy runs off to LA to be a porn star, leaving her husband at home in Las Vegas. Not exactly high and dry, since there are plenty of gorgeous women clamoring for his attention – but none of them is his Foxy.
I’ve been trying to get Larry to send me an excerpt from the book for me to feature, but he’s too busy penning his next salacious opus. Thanks Lisabet for all your help and yes I agree that I'm my own worst enemy. I hate to do sales as it detracts from writing! You have been a great inspiration for me and have vastly improved my writing skills. With your help, I am much deeper in the gutter and can almost see the clown in the drain. LOL
What's that old saying? It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it. Though living the lifestyle that he writes about does give Mr. Archer an unfair advantage over the rest of us. Memories to disguise, instead of just making stuff up. Snicker.
If I spent less time marketing and more time writing, I might be as popular as you... nah, even then I'd never reach your level!
