Never underestimate the power of a horny bride.

Francesca Torellis tycoon father is throwing a lavish Las Vegas wedding for his only child. Her fiancé Jake and his buddies set out for a stag night, exploring the fleshpots of Sin City. Meanwhile, Fran and her bridesmaids Laura and Chantal are stuck at the resort under the watchful eye of her stern Aunt Giulia, who has promised her brother that Franny will come to the altar a virgin.

Frustrated and annoyed by these double standards, the young women hatch a plan to escape their chaperone and have some fun of their own. With the help of a susceptible concierge, a butch ex-cop limo driver and a scandalous French couturiere, they find their way to The Foxs Den, the most exclusiveand outrageous—gentlemen’s club in the city. Owner Larry Archer and his crew of strippers, bouncers, voyeurs and sluts are more than happy to welcome the delectable trio as contestants performing at the club’s famous Amateur Night.

The gleeful permissiveness of the Den challenges the women’s assumptions and undermines their inhibitions. Complications ensue when Jake and his groomsmen arrive to find Fran in the midst of her strip act. Then Aunt Giulia crashes the party, determined to save her virgin niece, and things get really sticky—both figuratively and literally.

Will love triumph? Will Francesca be drawn over to the dark side? Is there a difference?

Tying the knot — with no strings attached!

Who can resist love at first sight? The minute Ted saw Annie shedding her clothes on stage at The Foxs Den, he fell head over heels for the petite, busty redhead. She had to make the first move, though, dragging him into an impromptu orgy in the Dens VIP suite, along with technically-virgin bride Francesca, secret slut Laura, and hot black mama Chantal.

Now Annie and Ted are getting married, and theyve invited all their friends from that wild Amateur Night to the party. Taking over a vintage eighties motel with a courtyard and pool for their private function, the bride and groom expect a certain amount of carnal excess. Still, nobodys prepared for the sexual free-for-all that breaks loose, involving not only the gals from the Den but also Annies rock star brother, Teds MILF mother, Chantals new slave girl, a lascivious hippie couple, a susceptible priest, the butch hotel manager, and an entire Scottish rugby team. As the wedding guests act out their secret fantasies, they push the limits of both lust and love. Finally arriving at the altar, after an exhausting, arousing twenty four hours, Annie and Ted realize that tying the knot doesn’t have to mean tying themselves down.

Welcome to Las Vegasleave your inhibitions at the city limits.

Like many newlyweds, Annie and Ted work hard, economize, live in a too-small apartment, and make passionate love whenever possible. They’re just a bit more open-minded and inclusive about sex than most couplesthey met at The Fox’s Den strip club and bonded during an orgy. They’re delighted when fraternal twins Marcella and Madeleine McNabb move into the apartment downstairs. The innocent eighteen year old beauties have come to Las Vegas for university and to escape their overprotective family. Annie and Ted figure it’s practically their duty to educate the sisters about the real Sin City.

Marcie and Maddy prove to be apt pupils, with voracious carnal appetites. Before long they’re intimately involved not only with their upstairs neighbors, but also their hippie landlord and landlady, Maddy’s hunky coach, Marcie’s dominant department head, a handful of their classmates, a bevy of strippers from the Den and the infamous Foxy and Larry themselves. Then the four McNabb brothers come to town, threatening to drag the twins back to Ely, and things get truly wild.

Jake and Fran and Ted and Annie celebrate Valentine’s Day—Vegas style!

When Jake and Fran are invited to Las Vegas spend Valentine’s weekend with Jake’s old friend Ted and his curvaceous ginger-haired wife, they’re not sure what to expect. The last time they saw Ted and Annie, at the Vegas couple’s pre-wedding stag party, the four of them had ended up in bed together. But maybe that was just a fluke. There’s only one way to find out.

Since their wedding, Annie and Ted have acquired some new kinks and a good deal more erotic experience. Annie has discovered she likes strap-ons and a bit of domination. Ted has been forced to recognize he’s into guys as well as women.

Will Annie’s double dildo scare Fran away? Will Jake balk at getting intimate with Ted? Only Cupid knows!

It’s 9 PM in Vegas. Do you know your safe word?

Some people just won’t mind their own business. When an anti-porn terrorist group shuts down the Sin City Fetish Fair, Larry Archer offers The Fox’s Den as an alternative venue. With the assistance of newly arrived dominant Master Shark, plans for the Den’s very first Kink Night quickly take shape. Indeed, the denizens of the Den are practicing their BDSM techniques well before the event.

Blonde, beautiful and untouched, Patricia Hastings leads the Citizens Resisting American Perversion in their fight against filth. She’s determined to destroy the licentious, permissive, anything-but-vanilla strip club – whatever it takes. A smidgen of plastic explosive should do the trick... If only she can resist her attraction to the voluptuous, red-headed minx Annie, and her own secret craving for surrender.

Caught in the act of sabotage, Patty faces a choice: arrest, scandal and prison, or private punishment at the hands of Master Shark and his horny acolytes. Will C.R.A.P.’s paragon of purity uphold her prudish principles? Or consent to the violations that populate her forbidden fantasies?

Why not grab the entire series, while it’s hot?

Necessary Madness cover

Today is the last day of June, which means it’s the final day of my Pride Month celebration. So for my MFRW Book Hooks post, I thought I’d give you one last LGBTQ excerpt. This one is from my paranormal erotic romance Necessary Madness.

Remember, every comment on this post counts as an entry in my Pride Month give away, for bookstore gift vouchers and free books.

Today’s your last chance!

Blurb

Nineteen year old Kyle sees visions of disasters, visions that tear his world apart. Everyone assumes that he is schizophrenic, but Rob, the cop who picks him up off the street, knows better. Rob's own experience has taught him that psychic powers are real, and potentially devastating.

Since his telepathic sister's brutal murder, Rob wants nothing to do with "gifted" individuals like Kyle. Yet he can't deny his attraction to the beautiful, tortured young man -- an attraction that appears to be mutual. When a brilliant, sadistic practitioner of the black arts lures Kyle into his clutches, Rob faces the possibility that once again he may lose the person he loves most to the forces of darkness.

The Hook

Kyle’s throat was sore. His head ached. His whole body felt heavy, as though someone had encased him in concrete.

For now, though, his mind was clear, free of any disturbing images. He swallowed the sour taste in his mouth, took a deep breath and opened his eyes.

He was there. The cop who’d picked him up. He was sitting by the side of the hospital bed, watching Kyle, turning his blue cap around and around in his blunt-fingered hands.

Everything about the man screamed ‘strength’. He wasn’t that big, but he looked like solid muscle. His shoulders and upper arms strained against his starched indigo uniform whenever he moved. His dense thighs had a similar effect on his trousers.

His face was strong, too. Kyle remembered the square jaw, but he hadn’t noticed the determined mouth. No one was going to mess with this guy. On the other hand, the eyes were a clear, open blue and the shallow creases on either side of his nose suggested that the man laughed easily. There were a few lines on his forehead, too. Kyle guessed he was in his early thirties.

The officer leant forward in his chair. “Hey, you’re awake!” The thin lips curled into a warm smile.

Kyle gave him a weak grin. “Yeah. Sort of. I’m in the hospital?”

St. Vincent’s. You’ve been here for the past two days.”

What happened?”

You passed out. Probably from loss of blood. That ulcer of yours was pretty serious. They did an emergency endoscopy and cauterisation. The doctor told me, another few weeks on the street and it would have perforated. You’re a lucky man. You could have died.”

Kyle closed his eyes, weary. He recalled his last terrible vision, dimly, like a bad dream. “Maybe that would have been better,” he murmured.

What?”

Oh, um, never mind. Thanks, Officer— ”

Murphy. Sergeant Rob Murphy.”

Thank you, Sergeant Murphy.” Kyle hiked himself up on the pillows, not wanting the macho cop to see him prostrate and helpless. “When can I leave?”

That’s up to the doctor. Now that you’re back among the living, though, I’ve got to get some information for my report.”

Kyle stopped smiling. “What kind of information?”

The cop gave a casual shrug, as though trying to put Kyle at ease. “Well, we can start with your name. I assume that it’s not John Doe.”

Kyle McLaughlin.”

Date of birth?”

November twenty-first, nineteen eighty-nine. I’ll be twenty next weekend.”

Address?”

Uh…I’m sort of between places at the moment.” Kyle cursed his weakness. All he wanted was to hide.

Hmm.” The cop grinned, apparently trying to reassure him. “What was your last address?”

Kyle swallowed the bile that rose in his throat. “Worcester State Hospital. Acute ward.”

I see.” The sergeant nodded quietly and wrote something in his notebook. Kyle expected a why as the next question. Then he remembered. This guy had seen him in the grip of his curse. He wouldn’t need an explanation.

Where will you go when you’re released from here?”

Exhaustion settled on Kyle like a leaden blanket. He sank back into the pillows. “What does it matter?”

Murphy chuckled. “Well, I’d hate to have to come and round you up again the next time we do a sweep.” Then it seemed that he really saw Kyle, saw his complete lack of hope. He placed his hand on Kyle’s forearm, careful not to disrupt the IV drip. His eyes were like a summer sky. “Look, I can see you’re in pain, and I don’t just mean from the ulcer. I’d like to help, if I can.”

Delicious heat blossomed in the bare skin under the older man’s palm. Unshed tears made Kyle’s chest hurt. It has been so long since someone had touched him with any sort of tenderness or concern. “No one can help me,” he said. “Even the shrinks can’t make the pictures go away.”

How long have you been having these—hallucinations?”

Since I turned thirteen. The older I get, the worse they become.” Tears welled up, to his extreme embarrassment. He turned away, trying to hide them from his inquisitor. A gentle hand cupped his chin, bringing him back to meet Murphy’s sympathetic gaze. “I don’t know how much longer I can stand it.”

You’re schizophrenic?”

That’s the current diagnosis. But I don’t think so. The usual drugs don’t work. They deaden my emotions, but they don’t kill the visions. And when I’m not having a spell, I’m more or less sane.” He stopped, familiar guilt overwhelming him. Sane enough to search the papers, looking for, and eventually finding, accounts of the disasters his dreams prefigured. Disasters he could see but not prevent.

Kyle scanned Murphy’s face, trying to read his expression. Some struggle was going on inside the man. His lips were set in a grim line and his brows knotted into a scowl, but his eyes shone with excitement. He still clasped Kyle’s arm, his fingers tense now, digging into the flesh. Kyle placed his own pale hand on top of Murphy’s in a gesture of reassurance. The policeman started as if he’d been burnt.

Kyle felt the shock too, electricity sizzling between them. Murphy snatched his hand away, staring down at his shiny leather boots. When he looked back at Kyle, he seemed to have made a decision.

I might not be able to do anything to help with your hallucinations, but I can give you a safe place to stay, at least until you recover.”

I don’t know…” Kyle began. He didn’t want to get mixed up with this cop. The signals were too strong. The man’s sheer physicality unbalanced him. Already, he felt that queasy sensation that presaged his visions. Powerful emotion often triggered his crises.

No arguments. I live alone. I’ve got plenty of room in my apartment.” The quiet authority in Murphy’s voice sent a delicious thrill up Kyle’s spine. He shivered. Murphy’s tone softened. “Seriously, Kyle, I don’t want to see you back on the streets. Stay at my place for a few days, a week. Give yourself a chance to heal.”

Review Tuesday: French Concession by Xiao Bai -- #HistoricalFiction #Espionage #ReviewTuesday

French Concession cover

French Concession by Xiao Bai

Translated by Chenxin Jiang, Harper Perennial, 2015

In 1931, Shanghai is a bewildering but exciting jigsaw puzzle of competing factions, ideologies and interests. Officially the Chinese Nationalists control the city from their base in Nanking, but Western powers rule in extraterritorial jurisdictions in the heart of the city: the International Settlement, domain of the British, the Americans and their allies, and the separate French Concession. Meanwhile, the Japanese are becoming increasingly aggressive, Communists are plotting to overthrow the Nationalists, gangsters and criminals operate with relative impunity, and adventurers from many nations exist in an environment of shady deals and sudden opportunities.

French Concession by Xiao Bai brings this complex and fascinating period to life. At the center of the novel is Hsueh Wei-shih, a young half-French/half-Chinese photographer who’s a magnet for trouble. Handsome and charming, Hsueh already has one mistress, a White Russian arms dealer named Therese Irxmayer, when he falls in love with Leng Hsaio-man, member of a secret Communist cell. Hsueh’s intelligence and imagination as well as his connection with Leng bring him to the attention of Lieutenant Sarly, head of the Political Section of the French Concession Police, who more or less forces Hsueh into the role of spy and informant. But somehow the dashing and resourceful photographer also wins the trust of Leng’s superior, cell leader Ku Fu-Kuang, as well as the mobsters of the Green Gang and officials in the Nationalist police. As he navigates the increasingly dangerous waters of his multiple roles, he’s driven neither by political ideology nor greed. His main goals are to stay alive and to protect the two women for whom he cares.

I picked up this novel second-hand, partly because I’m currently studying Mandarin and have visited Shanghai. It took a while for me to get hooked on Hsueh’s story. There are dozens of characters (helpfully enumerated at the start of the book) and much of the historical background must be inferred from the action. Like Hsueh himself, though, the novel is seductive. The main character (I’d hesitate to call him a hero) has a conveniently laissez-faire mentality as well as a deep-seated desire to please. This allows him to forget his duplicity and be convincingly sincere, in whatever circumstances or company he finds himself. His double-dealing love life barely concerns him. As in the old song, he loves the one he’s with. This is true politically as well.

Although Hsueh’s actions hold the book together, many chapters take the perspective of other characters. This lets us see that every character views himself or herself as the central figure in the story. Ku, for instance, considers he’s the true representative of the Communist Revolution. Secretary Chen, a secret Communist though part of the Nationalist Government, sees Ku as a crook and an imposter. Only Hsueh Wei-shih, the chameleon, is whatever his runners want him to be – and whatever role he’s playing, he believes in himself.

French Concession is an intriguing and original novel that should appeal to anyone interested in or experienced with Asia. The boom town quality of pre-WWII Shanghai felt familiar to me. When I lived in Bangkok in the 1980’s it had some of the same vibe. Everyone had an official story; no one could be taken too seriously.

I was also reminded of John le Carré’s fiction, although Xiao Bai’s style is very different. Both authors highlight the ambiguities that arise in the shadow-world of espionage. Both offer characters who are not fundamentally evil but who perpetrate great wrongs in the name of expediency.

Having finished reading, I found one last delight awaited me. In the notes at the end of the book, the author reveals that Hsueh Wei-shih, Lieutenant Sarly and several other characters are actual historical personages. He takes us on a quick tour through the scraps he’s found in the official archives, particularly a photo of Therese taken by Hsueh himself. Xiao Bai is quick to assert that the novel is fiction, but its historical roots make it all the more compelling.

New Release—In Your Dreams by Julia Kent (@jkentauthor) #billionaire #curvyheroine #menage #romance

In Your Dreams graphic

Sometimes your wildest dreams really do come true...

Laura Michaels sat up in her dark, lonely bedroom, heart slamming in her heated chest, the dream so real she could still taste his mouth against hers, feel hands pressed into her soft curves, sense fingers exploring where she wanted them most in the lush territory of her abandoned body. Yet her bed was empty, as always.

Except for the three cats who thought they owned it.

And the empty ice cream pint, spoon jutting out like it was identifying her in a line-up.

Heart racing, she tried. She really did. She should have calmed down. She should have been able to shake the reverie. She should have let it all fade.

What kept her heart beating so fast, though, was one undeniable fact.

There had been four hands on her in that dream...

This prequel takes Laura, Mike and Dylan from the New York Times bestselling series Her Billionaires and offers a glimpse into their yearning for what was meant to be...

The book you are about to read, In Your Dreams, is a newly-revised and expanded prequel to the New York Times bestselling series, Her Billionaires. It was originally published in 2014 under the title Before Her Billionaires, but now has more than double the words, is fully re-edited, and has more of the men ;) .

Excerpt

If he'd been less aware, he'd have rubbed his eyes to convince himself he wasn't in a dream, because there she was.

Dream girl.

All creamy skin and thick hips, blonde hair down her back, the woman who walked into the elevator and turned around, giving him full view of an ass that went on for centuries, was damn close to the one he'd created in his reveries.

A little too close for comfort.

Like his pants.

The guy standing next to her cut his eyes to the right, clearly looking for some boobage, and the action made Dylan instantly pissed. Dude had no right to ogle her.

If anyone should get an eyeful, it was him.

Wait. No. That wasn't acceptable, either.

How's the Breck project going?” someone to her right asked, a guy in business casual dress who was old enough to be Dylan's dad. No sense of anything inappropriate. Guy wore a wedding ring.

Good.

The blonde gave a sheepish smile.

Not sure. I don't have all the data yet, but when I do, it'll be messy and complicated, like everything else.” Her voice was high, breathy, and he suddenly needed a good look at her.

But the elevator stopped on the next floor and she got off with about ten people, that fine, wide ass fading as she turned to the right and disappeared.

His eyes missed her.

So did the trouser snake in his uniform pants.

He held back a groan of frustration. What was he doing? This was work.

Nothing more.

And when he disembarked on the right floor and met with the manager assigned to do this fire safety protocol, Dylan let her go.

He had to.

Because she wasn't his.

Or theirs.

Charity Sunday for Shelter - #PrideMonth #CharitySunday #SweatEquity

Charity Sunday banner

Welcome to another Charity Sunday – our altruistic blog hop where every comment you offer is transformed into a donation to a worthy cause.

In connection with my Pride Month celebration, I’d planned to highlight an LBGTQ-oriented charity. Then I got an email from Habitat for Humanity, announcing a two-for-one match of all donations through the end of June. I was torn, and finally, I decided to support both.

So, this month, for each comment I receive I will donate one dollar to The Trevor Project and one dollar to Habitat.

Both are causes dear to my heart. The Trevor Project provides services and support for LBGTQ youth, especially kids who have been kicked out of their homes because of their sexual identity. They operate an emergency help-line and chat service for suicidal teens and provide award-winning training and educational resources for people working with this at-risk group.

Habitat for Humanity is a world-wide non-profit that works with people who need safe, affordable housing, providing resources to help them to build their own homes. A key Habitat concept is “sweat equity”, the notion that the participating in the building process is part of the qualification to own a Habitat-provided home. This is more than “charity” - it develops skills, responsibility and pride, and connects people to their communities.

https://www.habitat.org/

So please, if either or both these causes touches you, leave me a comment! Remember that every comment is also an entry in my Pride Month giveaway, where you could win gift certificates and free books.

Of course I have lots of LGBTQ excerpts I could share, though none that involve homelessness. Here’s a light-hearted lesbian snippet from my steam punk erotica novel The Pornographer’s Apprentice, Book 1 of The Toymakers Guild. (Book 2 coming this fall!)

Jill! Are you quite well?”

Gillian turned from her equine companion to face the petite blonde. “I suppose that depends on how you define the term ‘quite’.”

Heedless of her ruffles and lace, Lucy seated herself on a hay bale. “It does take some getting used to – the way everything in this place, even punishment, gets twisted into pleasure.” She patted the space beside her. “Come, sit. I’ve been here so long, I forget that you’ve only just joined us.”

Gillian settled next to her, glad that her layered crinolines protected her arse from the prickly hay. A faint scent of roses tickled her nose. Lucy was close enough that when she turned her head, her delicate ringlets brushed Gillian’s cheek.

When did you join the Guild?” she asked

Lucy released a characteristic giggle. “I was born here at Randerley. I’ve never known any other home.”

Gillian waited for her to continue, but when she did not elaborate further, decided not to pry.

You fit in so naturally,” the blonde continued, “that we all expect you to understand.”

Understand what?”

The girl shook out her curls and smiled. “Oh, about power and pleasure. Discipline and obedience. The joy of surrender.” Her arm snaked around Gillian’s waist. “We all owe our obedience to the Master.”

When will I meet him? When will he finally return?”

No one knows. But I do hope it will be soon. We have need of him.” Lucy leaned closer and inhaled, as though filling her lungs with Gillian’s scent. “I believe he will value you highly. As we all do, already.”

The flow felt utterly natural. One moment Lucinda’s breath was on her throat. The next, her lips pressed against Gillian’s mouth and her tongue slithered inside.

The kiss began gently but soon became passionate as both women surrendered to their pent-up desire. Lucy pulled their bodies closer, her hand slipping from Gillian’s waist to her hips, then to her buttocks. She used her other hand to cup the swell of Gillian’s breast, sweeping her thumb in light strokes across the tightening bud at its peak.

Her touch felt confident, but questioning. She did not push further, did not address the buttons closing the front of Gillian’s bodice or rifle under her skirts. Gillian supposed that her earlier rejections had made Lucy cautious. It was time to set those worries to rest.

Their current position, side by side, was too constraining. Gillian grasped Lucy’s tiny waist and hauled the other woman onto her lap. In truth, the delightful creature weighed almost nothing. Taking the lead, she swept down and claimed another kiss. Meanwhile, her left hand slipped into the tangle of Lucy’s petticoats and her right struggled to unbutton the girl’s vest-like top. Cursing the idiots who designed women’s clothing, she wormed her fingers into the gap she’d opened, through the neckline of the blouse underneath, brushing against the satin chemise. Finally she reached her goal – the silky softness of Lucy’s bare skin.

Oh! That’s so lovely...” the girl sighed as Gillian caressed her breast. “I’ve been wanting – oh, yes! Please!”

Gillian’s other hand homed in on the moist cavity between the girl’s thighs. Much to Gillian’s delight, she found that despite her frilly, fashionable exterior, the young woman wore no drawers.

The warm, smooth folds of Lucy’s cunny were slick under her fingertips. She slipped an experimental digit into the lubricious depths and was rewarded by a lustful moan. Juices ran over her hand. She ached to taste them.

Are you always so wet, Lucinda?” she asked. “Or is this just for me?”

You know the answer, Miss,” said the blonde coquette, her blue eyes twinkling.

Minx!” She tipped Lucy back onto her feet. “Lie back on the hay, girl. That’s right.”

Without hesitation, Lucy stretched out lengthwise on the bale, bent her knees and raised her booted feet. She parted her legs and drew up her skirts, offering Gillian a fine view of her rosy quim. The down on her pubis was so pale that she looked bare. Her little belly stretched above her mons, her navel winking at its centre. Her lower lips, a deep coral hue, gleamed with feminine moisture. Her clitoris, strawberry red, quivered at their apex.

By Descartes, you’re gorgeous!” Gillian climbed onto the block of hay and knelt between Lucy’s thighs, intending to gorge on the woman’s delights. However, the sharp stalks protruding from the bale poked into her knees and shins. She couldn’t rest her palms comfortably on the surface either.

Blast it all – this isn’t working,” she said, rolling back to a standing position.

I have an idea.” Lucy swung her legs off the hay. “The carriage house is just next door. Come along!”
